Since I've started getting my nails dipped three years ago, every person I've gone to has a different technique. Some I like, some I hate. Kristal at Zen nails has by fair done the best dip I've ever had. I've gone to her twice now (the first was by chance) and they look super natural, and last for 3+ weeks (and my nails grow fast!). I have been DYING to find a nail place that is professional, clean and does a phenomenal job consistently. Zen Nail Lounge is that place. I first went to them in May for my birthday and have gone back almost every other week since. They are punctual, all the nail techs have great craftsmanship and it truly is a relaxing atmosphere. Upon arrival you check in, pick your color and then are greeted by your nail tech who will whisk you away and offer you a beverage (water, beer, wine, mimosa--my personal fave). Then, they get started with your service. I appreciated how carefully my nail techs painted my nails (even after I kept accidentally messing up my thumb) and that they never rushed me out of their chair, no matter how busy they were. These people move swiftly, but still manage to make you feel so special. My appointment was easily accommodated and they could do everything I wanted- remove tips, over 400 colors of dip powder, and gel pedicure. When I arrived, the owner Ricky took good care of me. The salon was busy but the staff was very accommodating offering beer, wine, drinks while waiting. I've been a customer for several years and I've always had a great experience. After today, I may have to find a new salon. I arrived early for my appointment and checked in. 15 min after my scheduled appointment I received phone call that pedicurist had an emergency and if I could wait another 15 min they would work me in. I waited. Once tech began,total process was rushed. Barely any callous removal, quickie massage, sloppy trim and filing. I had to ask for additional callous treatment which consisted of three more seconds. Total of 19 min in the chair. Honestly, one of worst, most rushed pedis I've ever had. Gel pedicure started chipping after 2 weeks (usually lasts me 2 months other places) and my dip manicure was peeling off after 1 WEEK. This is unacceptable for a service that is $50. Dip polish should last 3 weeks. My nail tech who did my dip mani was also very sloppy and I had to go home and clean up his mess myself with my own tools. It is not the best for walk ins because they are usually completely booked with appointments (at least on weekends when I go), so I recommend booking an appointment or calling ahead. I go here ~2-3 weeks for dip manicures and the selection of dip nail colors is unreal - I've never seen so many options. It is amazing! All of the manicurists are well trained and do a great job. I always ask for gel manicure and gel pedicure. I chose the cat eye gel as my color. They had a new girl do my mani and pedi. I felt bad for the girl. It was not her fault. I had to correct her and have her redo a few things. I had a slight tear on my right index fingernail. She put glue on it. I asked her to put more on based on past experiences I have had. I will come to this later. When it came time to do the cat eye, she didn't know how to do it and asked for help. Even the experienced workers didn't know how to do it. They said they tried to You Tube it to see how to do it. I ended up going with a solid color and didn't get the cat eye effect. Two days later the index fingernail that had glue got ripped down to the core. I went in today to have it repaired. To make this longer story shorter, the owner told me they could not add a tip, then dip it in powder and then add the gel. This is the most common method done at my regular nail salon. I am here visiting because of a family emergency. Anyway she argued and said they can only repair it with acrylic and then add gel. Acrylics eat the bed of the nail, which is why I do gel. She yelled at her employee for telling me it could be done with a dip powder. The owner then said she didn't have time to do it. I told her I could set up an appt. Either way she said they don't repair nails with a tip and powder and then gel at her salon. I said you are choosing not to do it. She said that's how they do it there at her salon. I walked out. It was the worst customer service I have ever had. And the way she treats her employees is unacceptable. She should not have a business. read more

We arrived on time and we had to wait about 10-15 longer before we were seated in the chair. The offered us complimentary drinks and I chose a Merlot. There choices for nail polish endless! Omg it took forever for me to select color. I'm also a lover of nail polish so they have the premium brands such as Morgan Taylor, China Glaze, OPI, and Essie and that's not even all. They also have about 5 pedicure options. I chose the paraffin wax and my sister did the sugar scrub. I do like the technique they used for the wax. Instead of me dipping my foot in the wax and pour the wax in a plastic bag and brought it over to me. I put my foot in and he made sure it was covers in wax before he wrapped it up in a towel for it to sit on my foot. Once done he took the wax off and polished my toes. There are definitely things I wish they done better such as: **not rush as much about time we got in the chair they were on their last round of clients before they closed so I fee like they were rushing because it was the end of the day. ** if you have appointments try to start on time. I noticed when there's a complaint in any kind left the way they respond is always with an excuse, & slick remark putting the blame on the customers instead of just apologizing and admitting their wrong or fixing the problem. They will tell "Their own story". But if you go to our American establishments they will not only apologize but fix the problem immediately so the customer will come back. However, I had the new employee Stephanie, recently and I'm on day 14 and my gel mani is looking GREAT! No peeling edges at all. She's also the nicest nail tech I've had there. First time here yesterday. Found this nail salon while scrolling through. The reviews were good so I thought I'd check it out with my daughters. Made appointment through yelp which was nice. The response time was quick which made it easy and convenient. Arrived to our appointments on time and were greeted when we walked in. Appointment was at 5:30pm which clearly wasn't the best time for an appointment. I waited for over an hour before they even started on me. My daughters were done within an hour and half. I understand they got busy and moving as quickly as they could but the wait had me wanting to walk. I stayed and happy I did. We loved our nails! I didn't care for was the fact they had cold water and other drinks even wine available and not one time did they offer or ask if we wanted anything. It was a Sunday morning and I decided I really wanted a pedicure so I started looking on Yelp to see if there were any places open near me. That's when I found Zen Nail Lounge. I actually was able to message them through Yelp to request an appointment . They got right back with me and said they could see me early afternoon , so I took it! So glad I did. I honestly didn't know this place was here , but I really liked how efficient they were . I walked in and immediately saw a sign to wash hands thoroughly and then choose a nail color. (I like that they are serious about safety measures for Covid ). You also had to wear a mask. Although they did offer beverages which I had never experienced at a nail salon before . You could just get water , or a beer or wine if you chose to! When I sat down, there was a laminated paper with QR codes that you could scan to see each service that was offered. The pedicure was done well but was very quick (I got gel so no dry time). My appointment was at 1:15 and I was done by 1:35. I will definitely be back to this salon! read more

Ive been coming to this location for over a year & never had an issue until today which was so bad, Im considering taking my services else where. They employees today have provided very poor customer service for my friend and I. On top of that, my friend asked for a full set service & they refused the service because of too many requests for the same. What?!! & 2 Nail techs was sitting on the side doing nothing, on their phones. Im sad to say, I will not be coming back. I did want to post this review so they can correct this action for the future. So Ricky should already know this review was about to come in. I came in to get my one week old chipped gel manicure fixed. Well they ask me if to find the color. At the time when I first came in I didn't pick out the color. The tech did so I'm not sure what it is. Ricky's wife doesn't attempt to really help me find the matching color. Then the guy fixing my nail doesn't help either. So I ask for Ricky. He come with this long story about why the techs aren't responsible for the color picked and suggests glitter on the 2 nails that got fixed on both hands to make it look better. I told him I'd rather just have the polish removed and start over and he didn't acknowledge me when I said that. So of course he finishes and asks if I like it. Again no I don't and I tell him we could've started all over and again he says nothing. He didn't even put oil on my cuticles. Definitely unhappy and won't be coming back after this piss-poor fix of my nails. P.S. you didn't spend triple the time fixing your work that did not last for 2 weeks. I would've paid again for a whole new manicure but you acted like you all were too busy and that definitely was the case. Again I will not be back and I will make sure this gets out the you all have an issue with fixing nails and acting like it's a hassle when it should be you all standing by your work. I've been here 2-3 times, and service has always been good. I always make an appointment beforehand, and they're very quick to respond and accommodate your schedule. The last time I visited, I was there for over 2 hours which I thought was a bit excessive. I think it's because I got stuck behind a bridal party. They said that you can let them know if you need to be out in a certain amount of time, so I will be letting them know in the future if I can't spend 2 hours there. I came in on a Saturday morning, which presents its own challenges at any nail salon in the city. The staff was courteous and everyone had a smile. There was a bridal party and not many technicians.
