7/3/22 Yah Yah happened to be on duty today because some one took off...or something close to it. I came in to buy more of the Cucumber lotion, but unfortunately for me, it looks like this product has been discontinued here. The cost of doing business has gone up and Yah Yah says it is because of the deep tissue massage most people want. Apparently the clientele doesn't like the soft massage. Now there is soft massage with some power behind it like Swedish, and then there is a body rub. What's the difference? In short, being a licensed with training on properly doing a massage. Or an untrained joker on the street. Anyhow I didn't want to cheat or tease myself with 30 minute massage for 40 bucks. I do hope the Cucumber Lotion makes a return because this stuff is good. Called this place in a pinch to get a chair massage and they were able to accommodate me the same day. When I came in, staff seemed to be friendly, but I did had to ask for a fave covering for the massage chair. Bruce started my massage. He had 2-3 people standing around me, talking loudly as he was giving the massage. It was started to feel great and he checked on the pressure, but then partway through, he switched me over first to a lady who had no idea what she was doing and then to another woman who was average. She did not tie up my hair, but kept rubbing over it until I stopped her from pulling some out. When I paid, the woman said I looked unhappy. I shared with her that switching the service provider halfway through the service is unprofessional. She did apologize and let me know that I could book with Bruce for my next appointment. I may try that and will update my review if I have a better experience. read more

I found Zen with a Google search like most people. The note on the door said 'By Appointment Only', but they will take walk-ins. I try to get massage every month and had not found a local place that I would go back to. YaYa greeted me when I came in with a smile that shined right through her mask. I got the 60 min massage and was pleasantly surprised how good the service was. I got warm lotion with deep tissue massage, then YaYa walked on my back while asking if the pressure was okay. The hot rock treatment was nice then the neck and shoulders were done with rocks. The service is at a great price so don't forget to TIP! The only thing that may improve the experience is to add New Age music. I have found my YaYa. read more

Will never return to this place again. I went to Zen reflexology spa not too long ago to receive a deep tissue massage and the lady had a attitude the entire time. I was baffled when I realize she was watching a TV show or something on her phone when accidentally the volume blasted in my ear. I love going to brow bars that has enthusiastic brow technicians. Places that are very welcoming and where I feel a sense of confidence that the place will do a good job. This place and the brow lady lacked all of those. I went here to get my brows done. She didn't even ask what or how I wanted my brows (some people like to switch up their shapes etc) and didn't greet kindly. She threaded only the brows and didn't clean in between the brows or around it. So I asked if she could kindly clean on top of my brows because at all other brows places, they do a great job cleaning all around giving your brows a sharp edge and finish. Her response to my request was "actually, I can't" and she came off rude. Her tone wasn't the nicest and maybe it's a cultural thing but I wasn't fond of my experience. Two stars because she didn't ruin my brows but just didn't do the best job making my brows look clean and sharp. Won't be back. read more

Edit: I've been informed by Yelp that I need to censor my use of a certain non-slang term for a woman's "special place," so my review has now been modified with that change. ------ Worst massage I've ever gotten! And I've gotten a lot of massages in my life. The guy literally got on top of me and stared thrusting, shaking the whole table (not to mention making it very difficult to breathe!). He "accidentally" touched my [edit: this scientific word for a woman's special place begins with a "V"] more than a dozen times. Plus, the massage was painful! I've had deep tissue massages that were supposed to hurt, but this was torture. He also kept doing my shoulders over and over (at least 60% of my hour was spent on my shoulders, when I went in for lower back pain). The massage motions were also incredibly fast; it was like he was in a race, and wasn't relaxing at all! I'm considering looking into [edit: a reproductive act that starts with an "S", plus the suffix "-ual"] assault charges, because my experience was NOT NORMAL for a massage. I was looking for a place that would allow walk-ins and found this place. I was able to be seen immediately, which was good. The prices were reasonable. The massage was harder than I preferred, which didn't make the experience enjoyable. Also, there was too much time spent on my back. She started off on my back and went back there twice after that. Although the massage was a bit hard, I felt great afterward. This wouldn't be the first place I'd choose but in a pinch, I'd go back. read more

This place was nothing short of amazing. My husband and I made an appointment yesterday for today and was greeted with smiles and great service. We did a couples deep tissue massage and we also did cupping for the first time! Worst massage ever, horrible horrible service and they are not licensed. When I walked in the guy was taking a nap on the massage bed I got massaged on, they are so rude I asked if she could massage a little harder(not. Swedish just harder) and she said it's extra?? Most importantly: Google maps is WRONG for giving directions to this place. It was leading me on the complete opposite side of Little River Turnpike. Zen Reflexology is next to Total Wine and Subway. Not hard to find once you know where to look. It's very easy to make an appointment: I called the night before I wanted a massage and they had availability. Although they probably accept walk-ins, I'd recommend calling first just to be sure. The staff was very helpful and kind. Since it was my first time there, I could have used a little more guidance, but they were helpful when I asked questions. I was getting a hot stone massage. You take off your shoes in the lobby area (they have sandals for you to put on) and lead into your room to disrobe to your level of comfort and then lie on the table, face down. The room only had a curtain instead of a full door, but I didn't mind that aspect. The massage itself was wonderful. Jessa massaged me. The lotion was nice and not overpowered, scent-wise. I didn't notice any aromatherapy but that wasn't a deal breaker. It was my first hot stone massage and I enjoyed it a lot! Jessa asked me about how hard I wanted her to massage and adjusted it as I needed it. She made sure the stones weren't too hot and listened to any additional requests from me (I can't have my feet massaged -- painfully ticklish.) I had some pretty big knots in my shoulders and upper back and I felt amazing the next day. They even gave me a small bottled water after my massage. The overall atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxing. During my massage there was soft music/white noise playing. Overall, I'd absolutely get a massage from here again. They moved to the new location and changed the name so they could provide even better service to their clients. I got a massage yesterday at the new location and it was great. This was the worse massage of my life. I had bruises all over my back. It took two days before I could lay on my back without being in pain. She literally almost caused my back to bleed. I have gotten my eyebrows threaded by Sushmeeta for a little over a year now. I do not trust people with my eyebrows except for her; she's so kind and welcoming. I have gotten my mom and sister to come in. Recently I got 2 massages by Jessie, she is the best! She made me feel comfortable and she took care of the pain I had on my right shoulder. I purchased a Groupon for 3 sessions of eyebrows threading with Zen Reflexology (6230 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria, VA 22312) and called in to setup an appointment for today (07/23/2017) before going in. I walked into an empty salon (no customers what so ever) with a lady sitting behind the front desk. It all started from there when she did not greet me properly, had a bad attitude throughout the whole time, did not bother to put lotion or anything on my eyebrows to help the irritation from the thread to her practically pushing me off the chair towards the end! Then she had the audacity to ask for tip! Ha! She forced me to tip her with my card and upon me telling her of the bad service I received, she said that it's her right to ask for it as she provided the service. I tried explaining things to her to help her as well with their rating on Groupon specially but she ignored me and had another oriental lady backing her up on everything and to top it all, my eyebrow lady walked away from me while I was talking to her without so much as excusing herself. Who does that?! So much more happened which due to the limitation of text here, I could not share but I was practically kicked out of there because as I was walking out, the oriental lady said "Stupid woman! Go!". I did not bother turning around or saying a single thing to them in return and chose to just walk out of the place and take a deep breath before starting to drive. My overall experience was SO horrific/horrible with Zen Reflexology in Annandale, VA (in a shopping center by ross and subway) that I will not recommend anyone to go there even if they are getting the Groupon for cheap! Trust me, it's not worth it at all. They are all nasty there and scratch each others back by covering and defending each others nasty actions. I cannot believe that I was trying to be nice to them even after all that or at least until my eyebrow lady decided to ignore me yet again and walk away. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!
