As my daughter was getting ready for a floor exercise as we were visiting for State Meet in Frisco, an employee or the owner or a coach standing about 6'2" with a lean build and an English accent walks out of their back office and approaches me asking if my 12 year old son, standing next to me, was in fact my son. Yes he is. He then proceeds to show my son a photo on the dudes cell phone. I look over thinking it was something cool or interesting and I hear him accusing my son of vandalizing a stall in the bathroom with urine all over the place and toilet paper strewn about and what not. He keeps going at him and my son is noticeably shocked and upset that this guy was just in his face pointing his finger at him. We kept saying "my kid didn't it dude. Please stop. He is 12". He beeps berating him. then I say I say hey back off the kid, he said he didn't do it, he didn't, and he used the wall urinal anyways. He kept on accusing my son over and over again and I kept telling him to back away from my kid. He was pointing his finger in his face and called him a "little sh!t" . Wtf?! I lost it. I told him to back the f away from son and to stop talking to him and now he could talk to me. He ran away to his back office and I followed him. Told him he owed my son an apology and he laughed. I walked away and grabbed my wife and told her what was happening. She went back to the office with me and she told the guy that she went to the bathroom before my son and it was dirty earlier before my son even used it. He finally concedes, "ok, I made mistake" Damage done. this guy needs to step away from being an influence on young people. He is obviously an "ask question later" kind of guy. If he doesn't walk away or made to walk away, this place will be TRASH. Several witnesses sitting right around me. He did begrudgingly apologize but What a piece of s toxic person to have at the gym. On top of it all, I missed my daughters entire floor routine. Nice job a-hole. Hope there are cameras in that place. I am not stopping w this post. read more

This review is strictly for a children's birthday party in the upper room. The child was a young age so this room was more appropriate for the kids. It was nicely appointed with all of the apparatuses you would want. The staff was very nice and present to assist with any kids having issues with equipment. There was also a small skinny room where all of the food and the cake was. The narrowness of the room made it hard for everyone to fit and see, but there was also a glass wall so some people could be outside and still see. The flow of the party went well and they allowed the host to dictate the schedule. They were very hands-off in that regard. Our group were the only ones in the building at the time which made it feel more special. read more

I hate to rate WOGA with such a low score because they have a beautiful facility. But, the fact that my 2 year old was not allowed to go into the gym for a bday party because he was under 4, while a baby crawled around the gym, was a bit annoying. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly young man who politely explained that because my son was 2 years old he would have to stay at the front half of the gym, even though the partygoers would be using the back half. I had no problem with that. I understand it can be a liability to have little ones running all over with all the equipment around. As I approached the door to enter the gym, I was immediately Approached by the "coach"...she hastily told me that my son was not allowed on the gym floor because he was under 4. I explained that the gentleman at the front told me he could play in the front half of the gym. She seemed annoyed and then said "No, he can't, but he would probably enjoy the train over there in the lobby instead", as she pointed me over to a train table over in the waiting area. So I politely walked over the waiting area to watch the party goers through the window since I was not "allowed" in the gym with my son. As I sat down I realized there was another couple in there with their child who looked to be about 7 months old. Wait, what? I though no one under 4 was allowed??? Anyhoo, as I entertained my son for about 5 minutes watching the other family enjoying their 7 month old crawl around the gym floor and hang on the little bars. I obeyed my orders and stayed in the waiting area with my 2 year old. Shortly after, the young man must've noticed my disgust, he came out and said "The coach changed her mind, you can come in now"....I politely declined. Why now? The "Coach" was so adamant about my son being under age but allowed a child who is CRAWLING to enjoy the facility. NO THANK YOU, WOGA. I will definitely not be coming to your facility again. There are too many other gyms where my 2-YEAR OLD is welcome. read more

This place is awesome! A great place for both kids who are serious about gymnastics or just looking for a new adventure. I accompanied my 2 year old niece to the Parent and Me gymnastics class. Coach Hannah was super friendly and showed the kids what moves to do, and then let the parents walk them through the moves. It was really fun to watch all the kids try and hold on to the rope and bounce on trampolines. My niece goes to this class once a week, and my sister tells me the price is very reasonable for an hour long class. In the main gym I was able to observe some hard core gymnasts. We're talking 11 year olds with 8-pack abs. Way to make you feel bad about yourself, but it was exciting to watch! read more

I've had experience as a recreational gym parent, and as a parent of two daughters that had their birthday parties here. The gym is conveniently located off Preston and Wade. My kids are young, and we are not "hard core" gym parents as we are the family that likes coming here for class once a week. My preschooler loves Coach Bri- she is enthusiastic, energetic and very patient with my 4 year old. WOGA offers birthdays parties for younger kiddos (4 and under) in their upstairs preschool gym. They also have bday parties for older kiddos in their main gym. What I like the most is their parties are private and they don't dictate food restrictions of having to order certain food through them, unlike typical bday party venues. Lots of recreational class opportunities during the week, and weekend for working parents. The gymnastics classes are organized by age and skill level. I can knock out preschool class for my youngest, and gymnastics class for my older daughter all at once. The coaching staff is great- they evaluate the kids quarterly to give feedback on skills your child is working on/what is mastered, and they offer two optional in-house meets (aka "gymnastics recital") a year so that they can put on a performance for families and grandparents. I'm not sure if the negative review previously posted on Yelp is truly warranted as every time I have been at the gym, the customer service has always been very professional. This gym communicates with me with monthly emails about events, anticipated holiday closings, etc. The office hours are clearly posted and the office is staffed with someone during the normal operational hours when most classes/team practice take place. Sounds like this person just randomly showed up on the weekend when birthday parties were taking place and the office was closed. As someone who has paid for many a birthday parties at many venues aside from WOGA, I wouldn't expect the coach running the party to leave the floor to answer questions from someone who just shows up unannounced in the lobby. The gymnastics team is top notch, and it is impressive to see their athletes training alongside my four year old when she's in class. This gym has trained two Olympic champions. Walking into the gym, the first thing that caught my attention was their "wall of fame" on the top left wall- there are multiple banners that highlight the names of each graduating class of seniors indicating which college/NCAA gymnastics program they competed for. It is pretty amazing to see banners from over the past 8 years of multiple kids going to some impressive colleges like UCLA, Stanford, Georgia, etc. read more

My daughter attended classes here for 2 years with the same level. Coaches never communicate the progress and areas of improvement. My daughter was scared of Bars and they never put any effort to help her come over that fear. Instead they suggested private lessons with them which are awfully pricy. Many times my daughter came with nail scratches when asked she told it's her coach who has big nails and got cut during class.I called them twice and did not get the apologetic response I was expecting. They allow only one makeup class for a month even if your kid is sick or for.any other situation. We were going on vacation so I took her out from class and after 2 days she had makeup class and they said they won't allow her as she is not enrolled with them anymore. I wouldn't recommend anyone.There people are completely money minded. read more

We moved here from MN about a year and a half ago. My daughter was a young four at the time and we interviewed 4 different gyms bc there was so many choices here (compared to only 1 gymnastics club back on our MN town.) In MN she started at age 3 and she moved up quickly to from preschool to mini monsters to beginners and was in advanced beginners. Then we were told she was on the fast track to start team at age 5 in MN right before we moved to Tx. We choose Woga bc we were impressed with the older gymnast skills and technique. The gym was clean and there is a lot of equipment for the kids to use. We stayed at Woga for over a year for classes 3x a week because we loved it there and loved Coach Hannah-- she is amazing! We have been doing private lessons with her a 1-2x times a month for the past year and a half and she always is professional, kind, patient and precise. She doesn't let the kids be sloppy or lazy but still makes it fun for them. Being a past competitor in figure skating and coaching competitive athletes myself, I see Hannah's coaching /teaching talent and preciseness that she uses with the young athletes. A year and a half ago Hannah put our daughter in the invitation only class "PSA" - (preschool age advanced) with in the first month of us being at Woga and we also went to GPSO 2 other times a week. Hannah always focuses on the gymnast techniques and skills extremely well every class and lesson. She points things out to the kids in a way they understand and they want to correct. Hannah is always bubbly and always had a smile on her face. This past August we did a summer week camp (when Woga Frisco had a week off of lessons) at Plano Woga and our daughter loved it there too! Coach and director Mary is awesome and so welcoming. She put our daughter in the advanced class with coach Irena and even though she was only 5 and the other kiddos were ages 7-10 and although Irena is strict and firm, (which our daughter needed and I appreciated,) coach Irena was very very good and seemed to understand that our daughter was a little intimidated at first being with the "big older" girls. Our daughters skills started to really take off and she knew she had to be polished if she wanted coach Irena to see she was trying and our daughter was really was excited to be at both of the Woga's. Also, This fall Coach Hannah took our daughter out of GPSO and put her in the advanced class at Woga Frisco and we were cruising along excited and having fun learning! Unfortunately we had a terrible unexpected event in our family this past October my husband was diagnosed with a brain cancer tumor called glioblastoma and we had to stop taking classes abruptly at Woga as the drive was 30 min one way to either location....With all the dr appointments and Dr bills etc we had to make a quick decision. We were disappointed to have to leave Woga and unfortunately the girls ages 5-8 team level 3 and 4 were selected right after we had to leave Woga. However, I felt Hannah prepared us very well with level 2- 3 skills would like to think our daughter would have done well on a little preteam for younger kids there. Luckily we are blessed and my husband tumor is stable for now and we have been able to come back a few times to do some private lessons with Coach Hannah. We don't know what his health will do but Coach Hannah has been amazing through all of this. Giving, caring, upbeat and helpful in many many many ways as well as continues to be professional and coach and critics our daughter in the same positive, strong, precise, energetic way! Then when a male worker finally spoke to us he rudely told us to look online at all of the information because he didn't know. Seriously!? I have been bringing my boy(s) here for about 3.5 years and I have mixed feelings about this gym. Let me be clear that if you have an elite, Olympic bound level athlete, there is probably no place better. I also feel that they have a fantastic beginner program, particularly in the 3 -6 year old range. In between those two areas is where I feel children get lost/overlooked. 3.5 years ago, I signed up my 3 year old and 6 year old boys for gymnastics. It didn't take long for me to feel like 6 was somehow already too old here. Most of the boys that are on a team here are either picked out before the age of 6 or poached from another gym. My 3 year old had some fantastic coaches and obviously an advantage over the 6 year old - he eventually progressed further in what I saw him doing. About a year later he was promoted to an invitation only preschool boys class only available at 3:30 on weekdays. Until he turned 6, I left mid-workday to haul him to this special class - he was seemingly doing great. I will not compare him to other people's kids, but I feel he was doing better than my older one who had progressed to the Intermediate class before quitting. When little one turned 6, I asked about rescheduling him and they told me to place him in a beginner class. I feel like if I have been taking my child to classes for 3 years and then he is placed in the same level as someone with no experience, the instructors have not done their job. I asked them if my child will be better served at another gym and they reluctantly placed him in the Intermediate class. That was 6 moths ago and he's doing just fine in there, but there are no progress updates to parents. No discussion of skills acquired/needed or goal setting. Hard not to feel that we're not just there to pay the bills for the more elite athletes. The facility is top notch. The kid parties are great. They're obviously doing something very right for someone, not everyone. I do want my child to make progress/build new skills even if they're not heading for competition. read more

I was truly appalled and taken back by the way they treat the kids and paying parents. They talk down to the children and are just flat out rude to everyone. We have been attending woga for two years now, starting when my daughter was not quite 4 years old. Coach Bri, coach natori and coach Hannah have been instrumental in her development and skills improvement. My daughter has been going to WOGA since she was 18 months old, and she is now almost four. WOGA is safe, fun, and well managed. Most importantly, there is "Coach Jess". Jessica makes it a point to make my daughter feel loved every single time we come, and we aren't even in her class anymore! This girl is amazing. WOGA is lucky to have her, and my daughter thinks Coach Jess is the coolest person in the world. I can't rave enough about Jessica. I have coached in numerous gyms between Illinois and Texas. Over the past 8 years I felt extremely honored to be a coach at WOGA Gymnastics in Frisco. Recently I have left due to a move, however I feel it's important for parents to know how extremely awesome they have it here. I have been in gyms that do not have the amount of equipment that WOGA has or the level of experience the coaches have. Parents... I am 30 years old and I had folks walking up to me thinking I was 17-18 years of age, just because a coach looks young does not mean they are not experienced. We all have to go through training, certifications, as well as most of us come from being gymnasts ourselves. We did have some strict rules to follow however its due to insuring the best safety of your children and our coaches. When you look at number of injuries compared to other gyms you would see WOGA is great. When you think your child is not progressing quickly enough remember its because we want them doing each skill correctly. Side note: The coaches do come out to talk to parents after almost every class. There are numerous parents to get to and sometimes there are those lovely calls from mother nature coaches need to go and attend to. They do only have 5 minutes between classes, cut them some slack! Again, I just want to point out I felt honored to have been part of the WOGA family all these years and know the staff cares about each one of your kids! I still to this day keep in touch with kids I coached through WOGA and their families. read more

After moving to to Texas from California we immediately started gymnastics at WOGA. (Only because a quick google search pulled it up!) We have had almost every coach here since that first class a year and a half ago. I've had both kids, boy and girl, in classes. And have only had great experiences here! The coaches really coach. They KNOW the kids! After seeing how many kids are in and out of here daily, it really surprises me how the coaches remember them all. (And love them all!) I really believe that my daughters love for this sport is because of the coaches that have been in her life here at WOGA. I recommend this gym to everyone who asks! read more

This is the cleanest, best maintained & most structured (lesson wise) gymnastics facility my kids have used. It is more expensive than others (the reason for 4 stars rather than 5), but I think it's worth the trade off. The instructors here are really good at determining what level the kids are at and pushing them to the next when ready. The facility has so much more equipment and space than other places. We love Woga Gymnastics! Their facility is large and very clean. They teach from the beginners to the Olympic gymnasts. My kid is an intermediate gymnast. The instructors are excellent and they take time to correct positions and techniques. Ms. Diana is an awesome instructor. read more

Good for birthday parties but for recreational gymnastics I would go elsewhere. They are only interested in the elite gymnasts. My daughter loved her younger girls intermediate class but once she turned six they put her back in beginners with no explanation. She could do perfect cartwheels, hold handstands, and do full kick overs yet she was put in a class with kids that have never taken gymnastics. She was very bored and the teachers did not provide any feedback. read more

We started going to Woga ( after being at ASI for about 4 years) we herd about the gym many years ago but it's about an hour drive from our house... however we wanted to give a new gym a try because our daughter loves gymnastics and she wanted to get better, so why not give Woga a try ( basically to see if it was as good as we herd) She has been there for around 2 years now and her coach (( Coach Solange )) is a blessing! All the coaches she has/had at Woga were great, but coach Solange truly is a blessing... my daughter was so scared switching gyms but somehow coach Solange made everything better. When we left, after her first class... My daughter asked if we could go back and if she could have the same couch again...2 years later here we are! Coach Solange truly loves her job and it shows... She's always happy, and goes above and beyond with her kids! She is always encouraging and very patient! Our daughter has improved so much and I honestly believe it's because of coach Solange and how strongly she believes in her! Because of her I've seen so many kids continue when they felt like they "cant do it" because of her I've seen countless smiles on children's faces and because of her my daughter has a stronger passion for gymnastics! she believes in these kids and she never gives up on them! She bonds with her students, and is truly a great coach! They say behind every fearless athlete is a fearless coach who never gave up on them.. I'm so grateful we found that with her!! read more

My daughter started here just before she tuned 4. That was almost 3 years ago. She loves it! She has taken classes with Coach Bri, Coach Hannah and Coach Natori, but she has spent time with other coaches at birthday parties, Friday Night Out and day camps. She loves all of them. The coaches are a lot of fun and make her feel special. And there are two "In House" exhibitions a year. So even though she is not on a team, she is still able to show off her skills to friends and family. read more

Woga gymnastics is an excellent facility, but better yet is my 4 year old daughter's coach, Hannah. I find Hannah to be very pleasant and patient with my daughter while also inspiring her and pushing her to do her best. I have watched my daughter be challenged and able to accomplish new skills every week, all while having fun under coach Hannah's guidance. We recently moved to Frisco from Tennessee where my daughter has also taken gymnastics. I found Woga to be far superior in quality than other gymnastics facilities we have experienced. We are very thankful for Woga gymnastics and the improved skills it is and coach Hannah are helping my daughter develop. read more

Our daughter has been at Woga for almost a year and a half and has made tremendous progress. She feels like she is continually being challenged to improve her skills. She has been lucky to have some great coaches. Coach Solange, was super encouraging and motivating to help her move up to the next level. Coach Jen was also amazing, her patience and instruction gave her what she needed to feel confident in her skills. She recently moved into another class and I can say the quality of coaching is just as good. The gym she was at previously, I felt like we had to strategically pick the class she was in to ensure she has a good instructor, at Woga that has not been the case. read more

We come to classes on Tuesdays and my daughters love WOGA! One of my girls is in the preschool class and the other is in the 6+ class. What I really like is that the classes seem very well structured. They are actually learning gymnastics skills rather than jumping on the trampoline and playing. The facility is huge and very clean. There is a lobby area with a wall of windows where you can watch the classes. The staff is great! Coaches are always out talking to the parents after class and the girl in the front is always so sweet and willing to help with scheduling or any questions I have. We are new to gymnastics, so I have had tons of questions about how it all works. She has been very patient with me! Although the classes are pricey, you definitely get what you pay for with this great gym! read more

this review is for a kids party planning. It is horrible process for now. Booking the party is easy over the phone. They said you can come in to pick up party invitation any time during business hour. But once I got there, the lady at front desk said they do not have any more and she has to get manager and it will be ready in the following Monday as the latest. The lady was nice to offer me mailing the it by mail and save me a trip and she said she could mail 30. But I called back in 10 days, the invitation was not sent out! My daughter picked this place for the party. I do not think she could send out the invitations to her friends before spring break. I guess i have to have plan B somewhere for the party. read more

We choose WOGA because of good reviews, which is where we made our mistake. Arriving there and seeing the process and way of coaching first hand was when we started to question our decision. My daughter is 6 and this was her first gymnastics lesson. Before choosing gymnastics my daughter took Jiu Jitsu for 3 years and was a ballerina for 1yr, she is very athletic. Once we finished the sign in and her lesson started, we waited for her trainer to introduce themselves to our family or at least my daughter, that did not happen, my daughter was told to stand and wait until her group started. After my daughter walked into the closed gymnastics area and completed her first lesson, she would later describe to us how she was constantly scolded for not following instructions. I could not understand how my 6 year old daughter would be so sad after doing something she always wanted to do. There is no excuse to train/treat a 6 year old in that manner, it shows lack of professionalism and lack of passion for what you do. We canceled our membership and located an actual Gymnastics facility where my daughter has started her passion with a smile on her face. read more

I love everything from the front staff to management (Laura) to the coaches. All the coaches greet you and make an extra effort to support your child when they are doing a make up class and may not know anyone. But most of all I want to acknowledge "Coach Hannah"... She has coached both of my children with love, fun, technique, professionalism, passion, and wonderful education. This is her passion and no matter how many classes she does, she teaches each one as if it was her first of the day. She memorizes skills of each child in that room and knows the best strategies to help them overcome fears. She is super sweet to new kiddos joining and makes learning fun for the current kiddos and creates a wonderful friendship. I love hoe she focuses on techniques, other gyms will just accept whatever the child does but she makes sure its right! She makes sure each child gets it and teachers they why. My kids ask to go see her all throughout the week which shows the impact she had on them. I love watching my girls learn new things and see them grow and mature. She is easy to talk to and always has a smile on her face and makes time for each parent no matter how busy and packed it is. She should have had a twin! I think that a lot of you are underestimating the type of gym this is. It is fantastic with all of the workers and children alike. A lot of the bad reviews on here are from parents that are mad because they have not gotten their way. I will be the first to tell you I don't always read what I sign or agree to. That is not very well thought out. Most of these parents are upset because they did not get their money back even though they did not show up for the class? My child goes there; if you read the waivers or speak to ANY one of the staff they will tell you that if you don't want to be charged or need to leave the program that is has to be in writing. Also one Marianna G. review down below is only half true. However old your child is, if they have potential, they will be sought out. And I have also witnessed her being extremely rude to other parents in the waiting area where you can see your children throughout their classes. Most of these bad reviews would be easily fixed if you read what the terms were for whatever you are signing up for. Technically it is a legal binding contract as SOON as you agree to it. Also where do you ever go where you can go out on the floor with your child for a birthday party? Is it YOUR birthday party or the child's? I don't think that the mother of the birthday would appreciate you taking your own time for something they paid for. Do you go to the bathroom with your child and school with your child? It is also to protect you. We are not as young as we use to be. With the way the world is today it would be very easy for you to go out on the floor, try something from the oldin' days and break a bone. Then who is responsible? the gym? Absolutely rediculous some of you "adults". read more
