It's a great idea, very unique! This place is always very busy! So make sure to wait in line. Joanna and I came here and got boba. Boba price is pretty pricey like $4+ for a regular and extra for pearls. They have honey boba so it's sweetened and tastes better! I got the matcha milk tea which was really good, good matcha flavor and the boba is just right - chewy and kind of hard. Joanna got the lychee one that kind of looked weird but tasted like a Starbucks drink. I got the elote with hot cheeto dust to try it out and did not like. Ended up throwing it all away. The cheese on it was very strong and tasted odd with the corn. I liked the corn but the cheeto dust and everything made it unenjoyable. It costed $7 so I was kind of sad about that. To start off: holy crap these drinks are so freaking aesthetically pleasing. You want the insta likes? This is the place to go. You want a super duper sweet drink that you can't adjust the sweetness level of? Unfortunately, this is also the place to go. For someone who usually gets 50% sweetness level for milk teas, the drinks here were just too sweet. One of the drinks I've tried here was the Mangonada with the mango twist straw, and the mangos turned out to be unripe (hard) and sour. Admittedly, it's also not mango season, so maybe that's part of the issue. I also tried a split cup with matchata and lychee crush. OK, HOLD UP: LET'S TALK ABOUT THE LYCHEE CRUSH. When the cashier asks you if you want to add lychee bits or jelly or whichever add on they recommend for this drink, YOU SAY YES. The tea itself was (again) too sweet, but I admittedly drank the whole dang thing just to sip up those delicious lychee bits/jelly/chia seeds/magical add-ons. Matchata tastes exactly how you think it's going to taste: like a matcha flavored horchata (surprise!). Overall, Zero Degrees is a great concept of Mexican Asian fusion, but the drinks here were seriously just too sweet for me. I heard that had chicharones with their elote so bam, 1st chance I had, I went. They apparently no longer serve the chicharones..... Or so the cashier told me. Now lets be real, if your schtick is to only serve a few items shouldnt those items be the best representation possible? Well their elote is trash. Its straight from a can, bland, and ridiculous. Elote should be fire roasted or shit at least grilled. They slapped this straight out of the can, slathered it in wayyyyy to much mayo and cheese and sirhacha. The milkshake was bomb so thats about it. The restaurant had maybe 4 people in it and the employees were standing around. All the tables were dirty so I wiped it down myself to eat. I'm way too excited to return! I went during their grand opening on June 23rd. It was hot and miserable while we waited outside for about 45 minutes. As long as this will not be the norm, then I will most likely frequent this spot. Since it was the grand opening we were provided entertainment by T-Mobile so I appreciated that! We were also given water and prizes. Fans along the line as well. Once inside, I could see enough through the crowd that it was sleek and beautiful. Very clean and fresh interior. I didn't check the time but believe we spent at least another half hour waiting once inside. Our cashier, Jordan, suggested the strawberry mojito with a mango twist after I asked about it. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because the mango was not ripe at all. I could not eat any of it. When I tasted the seasoning on it and then dipped the drink, I decided they do not belong together. I finished my drink without the mango and it was absolutely refreshing and delicioso! I loved the size of the fruit chunks and the mint. The entire time I drank it, I wish I had purchased a larger size. I did not try any food as the wait kind of turned us off from waiting any longer for that. There were interesting options with a fusion of Asian and Mexican on the menu. Overall, I knew what to expect since it was a grand opening so I am not going to let that affect my review. Been here three times and enjoyed the experience each time. For drinks I recommend the spicy watermelon, mangonada, and strawberry horchata (anything horchata). I've tried their tea drinks and they're okay. Not the best in my opinion. Also they have pictures of the split cup where it looks like the ying and yang symbol but instead they give you in a boring straight line split cup... However all of their drinks look really pretty and colorful. I absolutely love their popcorn chicken. The salted one tastes the best especially with the spiciest level. I also tried the Honey BBQ and sriracha garlic butter chicken wings. The Honey BBQ was the best and the sriracha one was okay. Their fries are really good especially the Cajun. Get that when getting the combo! Their hot cherries elotes were okay. It could use some more flavor. The hot cheetos they use are the puff kinds which to me didn't taste spicy to me. Also, a drink is included so I ordered the Split Cup with Lychee Crush with a topping of Honey Boba and the Strawberry Bliss with a topping of Lychee Coconut. The sweetness level is between Asian and American sweetness level, which wasn't so bad. I was content. The Honey Bbq sauce on the chicken was delicious. It wasn't overly saucy - had the right amount with a slight kick of spicy to it. The Cajun Fries were good as well - had a medium kick to it too! My friend ordered the Wings Combo. She got the Garlic Pepper flavor which was mild. I couldn't really taste the garlic part. She ordered the Mangonada (16oz) and added the Mango Twist for an extra $1. That drink was a slushy kind with mango chunks in it. So refreshing! I highly recommend it. There was a kick of the Tajin to it when I had my first sip. It was pretty hectic after 6:30pm on Tuesday during the Soft Opening week. The food took the longest to receive. Hopefully, the long wait/line slows down after the Grand Opening. There is only one bathroom stall, which is unisex. Overall, I enjoy it and will come back to try other drinks. Maybe we didn't get the best they could offer because they were so busy from opening maybe a week or so ago. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady next to me didn't know what to order so the cashier was patient and kind enough to explain what some of the beverages were mixed with. We ordered a split cup (iced coffee and Thai tea, both with honey boba), lychee drink, Cheetos elote, and a Mangonada with the mango swirl (+1.00). The split cup concept is really ingenious for about $5-$6. It's every indecisive persons dream! Our ice coffee side wasn't that great, but the Thai tea was definitely better. The boba was very soft and chewy, expected. The Cheetos elote was a disappointment for me. The corn didn't taste grilled, and had that chewiness that frozen corn has. It was overloaded with the cotija cheese which made it dry. Personally, out of all the elote I've ever had, I still prefer the elote ladies at Fiesta off Pioneer. The Mangonada was refreshing but once you get through the Chamoy and the Tajin it's mega sweet and tastes artificial. They do have a nice touch wth the fresh/frozen mango squares on top and the mango swirl slices are quite yummy. Overall, I think this place is quite hyped for the elote and Mangonada. I'd rather go to la paleteria or fiesta for those, higher quality taste and cheaper too. I went during a slower time so I received my drink in less than 15 minutes. The possibilities were overwhelming cause they all sounded so good! I decided with the matchata. I've tried the hot Cheetos elote, popcorn chicken, and garlic noodles with shrimp and they're nothing special except that you can get a good picture out of it. Same goes for the drinks. The mangonada used to be my favorite but it tastes so watery the last few times I've had it. On my last visit I ordered the Tiger Sugar Milk and it was the weakest I've had and the tapioca that was in it was extremely hard to chew. I also ordered salt and pepper popcorn chicken with a side of bbq sauce and waited so long for it when it was sitting on their back counter and nobody called my number.
