I do love a Zero's sub. Warm and toasty with Olive Oil and Seasonings. Conveniently located with a parking lot. They have seating indoors but I always take it home. If you like Cheerwine.....they have it!!! Glass bottles. Prices have gone up but all prices have gone up. They always have a sub of the month and other specials. Friendly staff. The owner does a lot to help the local kids so I love supporting this particular Zero's.

Every time I come to VA I'm beach Zero subs is definitely on the list of places to go! Technically, I have given up subs but how can I resist this place‍‍. Bread is like none other! Parking not a issue as this is a stand alone restaurant. Bathrooms and store nice and clean. If I had the option of choosing more than 5 stars I definitely would give it more. You are doing yourself a huge favor if you stop by! You won't regret it! The best around!

My fiancé and I went here for lunch after driving from Richmond. We wanted something that we could take on the beach with us if we didn't finish, so we chose subs. We've never tried Zero's so we ended up here. Upon walking in, it smelled weird and was really hot. While waiting for our food, we have a fan blowing on us and it smelled like onions. There's seating inside but we opted to eat in the car. Staff was friendly to guests and made conversation with the regulars there. I ordered the Turkey and cheese sub without lettuce and tomato. My fiancé ordered the Grinder with everything on it. My sub was OK aside from something spilled on it (smelled spicy) and my lettuce was very warm. My fiancé liked his sub!

Since 1967 Zero's Subs founded in Virginia Beach has been cranking out delicious subs. So before Subway they were making it fresh! Since 1967 the original location is no longer, but they have expanded and franchised out of state. Their name recognition is still local to Hampton Roads. I've had a few visits to this location that have been solid and thought it was strange their business listing disappeared. So I have added and expect Yelp HQ to locate the original. When pulling in the tiny lot your greeted by a large VW bus mural by local artist TALENT which is darn cool! The business retains a surfer type atmosphere with roots at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. A recent visit I grabbed a BLT with chips. I received friendly customer service from both staff at cash register and sandwich maker. The price was above chain sub places, but not by much. The beachy atmosphere was small with table and chairs. Everything was clean and inviting for guest. My order was called up in less than 10 minutes. The bread was fresh and it was loaded beyond expectations of bacon. Check out one of their many Coastal Virginia locations and support local.

I think this was the original Zero's location. So, I grew up with Zero's as a VB "native" and whenever I get to come back....I always have to get a grinder. Usually I go to the Hilltop location but wanted to try the original location....though I am sure as a kid I went here. Never disappoints....these grinders. Something about them that just brings back the memories and nostalgia....and they are just so good! I called ahead and placed my order. This is a busy location and the line was literally out the door, yet it moves fast! Everyone is friendly and polite, and my order was made exactly as requested!

Cool local sandwich shop, eat in or take out. Some of the better sandwiches in the area. Plenty of room to sit down and enjoy your food. Not exactly the most pleasant staff, but the food makes up for it.

You would never suspect the great atmosphere of this venue from the location. But the charm of the place really isn't the story. Definitely coming back.

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

Brilliant idea. The hostess took our name and phone number and we received a txt when our table was ready. The hostess was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Since it is mainly a seafood restaurant the aesthetic was ocean or bay themed. They had great decorations of coral reef and other things found in the ocean around the restaurant. They had a great seating area for patrons who were waiting for a table. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was our first time at this restaurant we were unsure about what we should order. She gave great suggestions. We ordered the fried oysters, oyster burger, and shrimp with vegetables and eggs. We also ordered a pineapple crush and the localizer. The food was very flavorful and fresh. The oyster burger was very unique it had a fried oyster on top of the patty which was great. It was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fried oysters were great as well. They came with Pita bread and spinach dip to make an oyster sandwich. Amazing!!! The drinks were on point as well. They weren't too strong but they weren't weak either. I recommend trying out this restaurant if you are in the area. It is totally worth the wait.

Crab legs were overcooked and dry. Sweet potato fries were mushy, like they were frozen fries that were heated and then reheated in the microwave after sitting out. Mashed potatoes were somehow crunchy like it was instant mix that wasn't mixed properly.
