I wasnt a fan of this place. They did an ok job with my eyebrows. The lady thinned my eyebrows quite a bit which i wouldnt have minded but my eyebrows were completely different. To top it off i had to hear them laugh about another customer that had just walked out. The lady helping me wasnt involving herself but i was extremely uncomfortable as the other 3 ladies cackled and made fun of the customer. I wont be returning. read more

I just walked out of Zia Threading after popping my head in at 5:51p inquiring if they were still accepting customers. They were in no way obligated to take me as it was minutes before closing. But they did and I couldn't be more appreciative. I do not typically come in before closing but today was the exception. I'm a busy mom of 3, I usually get my eyebrows done once a month. Farah has been doing my eyebrows, she's very quick and soft handed. Last night I came and found out Farah has moved to san Clemente location. Zia the owner did my eyebrows. She did an okay job, I really liked she listened to how I wanted my eyebrows. But honestly, my 3 babies are at home and I'm on a time crunch so I don't have time to keep checking and pointing out hairs. They're now in Laguna Woods near Mother's market, so go get beautified and then pick up a pumpkin bran muffin. :) This threading studio only opened this past June. It's small, clean, and quiet. I did not have to wait and I was in and out in maybe 15 minutes for just an eyebrow clean-up. My threader was super fast, efficient, and did a great job. And the best part? It was just $8. It was my third time to have my eyebrows threaded in this salon and I am always pleased on how they turn out. I just disliked the rude lady who worked on my brows today. I understand she wanted to engage in a conversation asking question but for some reason I could not understand her. Until it got to the point she told me "Nevermind, you don't understand" in a condescending tone. Also she complained about my ingrown hairs because I tweezed in between having my eyebrows threaded. It doesn't hurt to say thank you to someone who tipped you 20% despite finding you rude and unaccomodating. And because I do not want to get more upset, I forgot to have my card stamped. I am still reconsidering coming back but probably I will skip a session on two and go to a different eyebrow salon in Lake Forest. read more

Just wanted to update that I'm very unhappy with the results. There's definite irritation on my eyebrows. I would HIGHLY recommend trying my go-to place: Brow Mantra. They take special care after they've threaded to ensure there's minimal thread burn. They use hand sanitizer before they begin and ask customers to use it too for extra cleanliness. Brow Mantra also uses cooling lotion afterward for minimal irritation. Zia uses rose water but I don't think that was enough. Sanitation is key. read more

I took my boyfriend in to get his eyebrows cleaned up and he came out with crooked brows. Initially the woman didn't even do a decent job, I politely asked if she would kindly thin his brows just a bit more (it hadn't looked like she had done anything). No smile, no acknowledgement that she heard me, she just looked back down at my boyfriend and took out more string. *Here comes the reason for my rage and 1 star rating* When she finished, not only was one of my boyfriend's brows SIGNIFICANTLY larger than the other, she also created a crooked arch. As if it wasn't hard enough to drag a man in there to get his brows done, the woman taking care of him leaves his eyebrows completely ASYMMETRICAL. The place was so packed I just took the boyfriend home and used an eyebrow razor to even his brows out as much as I could. There was no way he was going to let me near him with a pair of tweezers when his brows were as puffy as they were from the initial threading. I know, sometimes people mess up... but not when it comes to something like this. I just don't think anything can justify the way my guy's eyebrows turned out. read more

This was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded as I usually get them waxed. Zia Threading is a very nice parlor-like place, big and clean. It's awkward when you first walk in because the space is big and the ladies are just standing at the desk looking at you. I heard Meena is really good, but I got a different person. I'd recommend this place because it's quite painless although the lights above your face are really bright. I was offered rose oil/water afterwards, but I declined not knowing if I'd have to pay. It ended up being only $9! Four stars because one of my eyebrows is crooked though not a big deal. Your results depend on the person who threads your eyebrows! read more

Zia's threading is amazing. I am Middle Eastern and have tried every single eyebrow place in Southern Orange County. My eyebrows are thick and grow back quickly. It takes someone with talent for me to go almost three weeks without getting my eyebrows done. None of them compare to Zia's. The first time I went, I was a little nervous, but some kind patrons there suggested I ask for Zia the owner. My search stopped there. Zia is hands down the most talented beautician in Orange County. She is not only takes her time, explains what she is doing, but she personable and makes you feel very comfortable. On a pain scale of 1-10 she is about a 4. I am a big baby and I even let Zia do my entire face with no qualms. My eyebrows look natural and I can easily go three weeks. Warning-you will always be waiting at this place. This is definitely not your five minute eyebrow threading place. I tend to go at odd hours in the middle of the day and there is still a wait. I guess that is a good thing. Some things are definitely worth the wait and this place is. They have comfy chairs and the place is spotless. You can not ask for more. I will never again go to another threading place. read more

I'm new around the area and found this place because it was conveniently next to the place that I get my nails done. When I first walked in, the receptionist looked up at me and then looked down. It wasn't until I went up to her that she actually greeted me. Overall the price is okay for the service you'll get. The only concern and warning that I have for anyone reading this is that I get my eyebrows threaded all of the time (at a different location) and this is the first time that my skin got a reaction to the service that they provided. My skin was red and bumpy for a WEEK (and it still is) and when I asked her if this was okay, the receptionist said "oh yeah it's fine, it's completely normal. It'll go away". They did not put any hand sanitizer before or after threading, and all that they do to "calm" your skin is put rose water in it. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I decided to try threading for my eyebrows and visited Zia's yesterday around 5:30pm after work. Everyone wrote great reviews and the prices are what really drew me in. As a couple people mentioned, it's right next to Starbucks by Mother's Market and it is a little outdated inside. When I walked in, there were 3 ladies who each had a customer. They were nice but I noticed that all the ladies who were threading kept holding the thread in their mouth - is that normal for the threading procedure?? The one lady who greeted me and asked me to sign in - the whole time she was talking to me, she kept the thread in her mouth. I signed in and watched for a few minutes. I saw that they use that same thread on their client's face. SO that kind of grossed me out and I just left. Maybe I'm overreacting but having someone else's saliva on my face didn't really appeal to me - I think I'll stick to waxing for now. read more

I decided to try this place out based on their positive Yelp reviews and can confirm that they are all true! I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for close to 10 years now and was the best threading I have ever gotten, Zia did a great job. Not too thin and she followed the natural shape of my eyebrows. I'm so over this place. I used to live close by and came here at least once a month but since I moved further away, I only stop by on occasion. This past visit will be my last. I agree with other reviewers that their quality has gone down hill. They were only friendly to customers that they recognize and to everyone else they were short and abrupt. I asked the person threading my brows what she recommended as far as the shape for my brows but she kept accusing me of waxing my brows. She kept insisting that I did and that they shape of my brows was bad. She didn't understand that I was trying to grow my brows and needed help with shaping. My brows ended being way too thin. Supposedly that was the only shape she could do for me. I had been growing my brows out since last year when I was pregnant and my son is 8 months old now so don't accuse me of waxing when I tell you I haven't and then take off over half the brows that I've been growing in all this time! I wasn't so sure how to feel about this place at first because my first experience was terrible. My eyebrows were still thicker than I wanted and looked a little uneven but I figured maybe I got a bad threader and should give it one more shot. Another thing is, I realized I have to be more vocal about what I want. I'm glad I stuck it out here and gave it more chances because my next few sessions there have become much more successful. My eyebrows are looking the best they have since I can remember. I actually tell them how much thinner I need the eyebrows and if I'm unhappy with the finished product, I notice they will make a real effort to work hard at improving the look which I greatly appreciate. Also, they all have been pain-free. They are so gentle here compared to other places! I haven't had Zia yet but one of these days I'm sure I'll catch her and see her amazing work. Nothing compares still to my favorite threader of all time, Indira, at WOW Beauty Center up in Los Angeles but since I live here in Orange County now I realize I'm going to have to make this work best I can. They're hit or miss. One stylist can do an amazing job one week and then next week I'll get a different stylist and it'll be a disaster. Last time I came here I was expecting amazing service, being it was my last time coming here before moving and all they managed to do was continue to compliment my eyebrows and how they have a great shape. At the risk of making the wait line even longer, I'll say that this is a great place to go for eyebrow threading. The wait time is hit or miss depending on the day and time that you go. I've tried pretty much their entire staff and they're all pretty good. I've been told the price (with tip) is cheaper than other places. It's next to Mother's Market, so that's very convenient to a mother. The location is very local to everything in the Laguna Hills area, especially since my own business is a minute away. It's right next to a Starbucks for ladies on the go who need their brows done and a cup of tea. Honestly, my biggest reason for choosing this place is that it's clean, I can bring my kids who wait during my service, they're friendly, AND THEY HAVE A RESTROOM that they are not stingy with.
