I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! The falafel wraps are AMAZING! The Zataar Fries are AMAZING! The Rose Water Lemonade is AMAZING! The Baklava is AMAZING! Went in and ordered a falafel wrap and an order of hummus and pita. Love the pickled veggies now included in the wrap; gives it a texture and kick that's delicious. Didn't expect such a large portion of hummus! I'll be eating it for a few days!! read more

Delightful experience. Chicken pita wrap was awesome. Vegetables were particularly flavorful. Ordered a side of hummus, which has permanently spoiled me against store-bought. Topped off the meal with a slice of sweet cake (semolina?) and a cup of Arabic coffee. My wife and I both had a glass of wine as well, nothing special there. 3.5 I don't like giving three star reviews, and I'm not even sure that Ziatun deserves one, but this the quantity of stars feels most fitting. My mother and I had a late lunch/large snack here We split the Futur platter ($16), which was a great move. It was mostly just a lot of fun to consume, as it consisted of various twee servings of Middleastern standards. Great hummus, good but slightly strange baba ganoush, olive oil, zaatar seasoning (I was throwing this on food like it was confetti), an okay fava bean spread called 'foule', 3 or 4 delicious falafel. The vessel for all of this was pita, of which there were two (we ran out.) I wasn't enamored with the pita. Twasn't fluffy at all. We also got the free tea for check in, which was nice to have. The waitress bugged me. But that was probably my fault not hers. My mother and I did get the sense though that she wanted us to order more food. Ambiance was nice. Fun huge pillows. I really wanted to like this place. It has a very nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. I ordered hummus, falafel and the zatar fries. The hummus was way, way too salty, and the portion for 6.95 was incredibly small. The zatar fries was a big portion but also were way to salty and had very little zatar flavor. The pita that came with the hummus was like what you might buy at a grocery store. The falafel was nice. If they got a better chef this place would be great or if you don't mind very salty foods. read more

Place has a good vibe. Ordered arabian coffee and mint tea. We also got adas soup, labane with pita and rice bowl with falafel. Both food and drinks were served in fancy dishes which made them appetizing and everything was colorful. Everything tasted good except pita and rice. The pita looked like a grocery store bought ones and were fairly burnt on the edges. Rice grains in falafel bowl were too huge to my liking and was cold as well. OMG! Try the fresh hummus and black tea with sage! I snuck into Ziatun last weekend following my Saturday spin class and am so happy I did. I discovered Ziatun on Instagram after someone I know posted about it and quickly followed her post back to beautifully prepared images of some of their dishes. After lunch last weekend, I decided the food tasted as delicious as I imagined after checking out their Instagram. Seating is limited but it's a cozy little spot with tons of creative personal touches. The owner can be spotted in the seating area chatting with guest, checking on their experience, and sharing facts and other tidbits of information about everything from the decor to incense he picked up from a local shop. Ziatun will certainly be added to my regular post workout Saturday lunch spots! read more

If i could give this place better than five stars i would. The food is absolutely delicious and the service top quality. My husband and I were there today when the owners happened to stop by and they were friendly and beyond courteous. We had a great time trying new things. The falafels are the best I"ve ever had. I also found the decor and ambiance charming. I"m so happy this restaurant came to beacon. edit as of July 31, 2016. all of the above is absolutely true, but tonight went in and ended up having to leave. the lone waitress wasn't very bright and wasn't very courteous. the only free table was reserved. she had, of course, not thought to mark it reserved and so when I sat down, after about ten minutes, told me to leave. it's not rocket science. your customers are not mind readers. anyone with half a brain would know enough to put a 'reserved' sign out. Really was optimistic about this place, very cute and cozy, menu looked great. Service was great and prices were reasonable. The food however was bland. Nothing was well seasoned. The baba ghanoush had smokinesss but lacked flavor otherwise. The shawarma was awful. The meat was dry, chewy and way underseasoned. The presentation was very nice and everything looked appetizing- but for me, it all comes down to flavor. I like my food well seasoned and flavorful, and just like Tito Santana's, the food is incredibly bland. read more

This place has been open for a while now, but suddenly it has become my NEW favorite spot. I had lunch today and left totally impressed with this joint- again. Today, I had the Beef & Lamb Shawarma with a side of Za'atar Fries. Both were delicious but the Za'atar Fries were ridiculous; seasoned to perfection and more than I could eat. I packed it up and brought some back to work, where my co-worker gladly finished them and also raved about them. My other favorite menu item is the Fattoush salad, with Chicken and Feta. First time here at this traditional middle eastern restaurant. I loved it. The staff is super friendly and very warm with greetings and thanks. They even gave out cubes of watermelon to tables because it was very warm out. The menu had so many choices from vegetarian and kebab dishes to shawarma sandwiches. I've been here twice. The first time it was BYOB, but the second time was not. The Palestinian breakfast is probably the best thing on the menu, as I've had it both visits. The Arabic coffee is different, but also very good, as is the fatoush salad. I've found myself in Beacon twice and I always end up here. Would definitely recommend the above dishes. read more

We ate there last night and ordered the Futur, Falafel, lamb and Kufta kebobs. The baba ganoush was creamy and smokey and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Delicately seasoned. Small, cozy room. I predict that they might need a larger space in the near future. They are now officially opened and are still ironing out the kinks, but it's a definite "go back soon" destination. We were very unhappy with our experience here. We were very excited to have Middle Eastern food, since moving up to Westchester has left us with few options. Unfortunately, this restaurant is another reason why cultural and ethnic food is not comparable to Manhattan or Brooklyn. We ordered the main platter, falafel, za'atar fries and iced tea. This cost over $50 for both me and my wife. For that price, we expected well-cooked, well-seasoned, well-made food. Instead we got two olives in a bowl, bland Israeli salad, overly fried falafel, and soggy fries. For a place that purports to support and represent Palestinian food, this is embarrassing. The menu is small, but everything on it that we have had after two visits has been exceptional. If measured by their hummus alone, this place would be five stars. We enjoyed our meal, although I felt that the shwarma meat wasn't the highest quality, it was a little chewy. Really delicious and authentic. Owner is Palestinian and it shows--the food tastes just like Israel. The hummus is light and smooth with very little garlic, just how I like it. Falafel is both moist and crispy. The foule is outrageous--so full of complex flavors. The pita is the thin style, not the fluffy doughy stuff, and it pairs well with the food and is a perfect wrapper for the shwarma--which is accompanied by house-made pickles! Drinks are also a highlight--Turkish coffee (which was offered on the house), Moroccan mint tea, and rose petal lemonaid, all gently sweetened. Service is excellent: attentive and friendly. The space is nice and surprisingly comfortable (I sat on the bench and it was great, which is so often not the case with benches at restaurants). This is a special place. Me and my aunt were in Beacon last weekend to visit the Dia Museum and had lunch here beforehand. So good!! I am so happy to have this new addition to the Beacon restaurant scene. Just ate there for the first time--won't be the last. The food was delicious; the place is tiny but very attractively decorated. I am a fan of this restaurateur's other places. This one seems like a project that's really close to his heart. We ordered the "breakfast anytime" platter that was a sampling of all sorts of small plates--baba ghanouj, pickles, felafel...and more. It was very tasty, and fun to mix and match with the thin pita-like bread. The owners said this is Palestinian food, but that they will be including food from other Middle Eastern cuisines in time. This has got to be my worst experience with a restaurant in beacon ever. Me and my boyfriend came here a few weeks ago looking for a nice middle eastern meal instead what we got was, extremely overpriced food with very small portions that was not even tasty. I ordered a burger and the bun was soggy like to the point where I could not eat it . I then asked the waiter for a new bun when she said "it's not our fault it's like that you should have never ordered it" we never ended up getting a new bun because of how she denied it. This is extremely unprofessional and vulgar we highly recommend you don't waste your money here. The food was extremely bland as well with store bought pita !
