I went in to Zibas last night in a desperate need of a cleaning for my brows. Walked in and the receptionist ugh! Her attitude was just stank from the beginning! No hello, no smile, She asked me what I wanted done jotted my name down and told me it would be a 30 min wait. Ok, no problem sat down and was called go with this older Indian lady with glasses (They didn't tell me her name) she does not say hello or smile and just has me lay back. I told her from the beginning i just wanted a clean up and dont like my eyebrows thin. She said ok just a clean up. I was sooooooo upset when I took a look at my brows I wanted to cry! She made my left eyebrow looking like a tadpole. My right was thicker than my left. Just a mess. I then told her I told you not to make them thin. She responded I didn't, I just cleaned them up (with attitude mind you!) I told her I don't like them! Did she care nope, she didnt. No apologies, no nothing. I have been coming her for a while with sasa or savita, but they weren't there last night. I should have waited for them. Moral of the story is if you have a good artist stick with them and don't be inpatient like I was. I was just upset at the fact that as soon as I walked in that place the attitude and poor customer service should have been a red flag for me! Lesson learned!!! read more

Pre- Pandemic, I went to the Ziba in Montebello and absolutely loved it. Post- quarantine, I struggled to find a person who could shape my eyebrows to my aesthetic vision. I went to Ziba in Cerritos and was unsatisfied. I went to other small businesses in Whittier, Pico, Montebello and Alhambra; I was frustrated. However when I came to Downey, I found Kala; my saving grace. She is patient, receptive and graceful. She has a wonderful work ethic and heart for her client's vision. Thank you Kala! Horrible customer service! I went in this morning to get my eyebrows done; Heena did a good job, but the receptionist, Melisa, had a meltdown, and was very rude. When I asked her, "What name she called out?" She rolled her eyes, and responded very frustrated. Even Heena was trying to excuse her for the way she acted. She ran to the back to cry it off. I've been going here for 5+ years, I don't know why I have not left a review sooner. This place is incredible, my preference is always Tenny. She does top-notch work on shaping your eyebrows and making sure you are always happy with her service. She's an extremely sweet person who is incredible at what she does. The staff is great and when I'm not able to get my threading with Tenny (I'm in a hurry, or I am only available to come in the days she's off which are Sundays and Mondays) I know I am in good hands with any of the other members. Of course I always aim to get Tenny. She does also do waxing there so sometime the wait can be a little bit over average but I happily wait (or walk around the mall and come back) for Tenny. read more

My brows came out extremely uneven and did not look like they were freshly done. I had to try to "fix" them when I got home. I don't understand why they charge $18 for eyebrows? Just got my eyebrows done by savitel. I'm very disappointed in the way she left them. I've been letting my eyebrows grow to get them done properly. I was very specific when I asked her to shape them and clean. Apparently she took that for making them as thin as possible without completely leaving me eyebrow-less. Oh my lawd. I came in to the sight of two young guys sitting and for a moment I thought, "Are they waiting for their girlfriends?" Well, well, well. Hello, metrosexuals. What happened to the manly men? I don't mean, dirty, grunting, no showers kind of men. I just think when guys go in to get their brows shaped... It's overkill. The girls here are very friendly and professional. The place is clean and well lit. Service is a hit or miss. Sometimes, they do the threading really well. Other times, you're left with a little stubble after a day or two because the hair broke at the base. Threading isn't for the faint of heart. You'll have tears streaming down your face when they get to the spot right under your nose. I personally prefer waxing so as much as I like the ladies here, I won't be coming back. read more

I used to frequent the Ziba in Costa Mesa all the time. Their threaders are hit or miss. The key at any threading salon is to find the woman that works with you and stick with her. In general, I found Ziba becoming pretentious. Their front desk became kurt and less accommodating, the quality of threaders decreased over time as their prices, ironically, increased. Threading is typically a $7 service as it involves 1 piece of string and five minutes of time, less if done well. Ziba is $12. But my real turnoff to the place was the class action lawsuit against them. They have underpaid and overworked their employees, as they are mostly south-asian female immigrants. I just so happened to be in Downey and in desperate need of getting my eyebrows done. I went to the Stonewood Mall; Ziba!! And I am a fan of Ziba, Artesia one. This one made me realize how overrated, commercialized and overpriced this place is. I don't know how much it is now, but last I remember it was $12 for eyebrow threading alone. Service at this one sucked! Three reps were at the counter, one guy was impatiently explaining what "threading is" and that everyone does a great job blah blah blah to one customer who looked as confused as if you asked me what the square root 36539 is. One girl just smiled at me and the other girl played with her hair as I stood to see how many people were on the wait list. The place was pretty busy for a Thursday night and they had what looked like 3 ladies doing eyebrows, on a Thursday Night?! Three?! Come on, especially in a Mall. So after having to wait to see if I can put my name down or find out how long's the wait and hearing this guy poorly explain "threading" he grabbed the clip board just as I was gonna see it. I asked how long's the wait and without looking called out the next name without so much as looking at me. I've been waiting patiently as the other chicks just stood there! So I left. But not before hearing that an appointment for threading has a cost of $25! WTF!? read more

I get my eyebrows done right when I go here. I used to drive to the Artesia shop for years and when they finally opened one in the Rinky Dink Stonewood Mall, I was ecstatic. I wont say who I see at this location but she does the best eyebrows , perfectly arched. Some threaders are less aggressive and I don't get the arch I need.. no pain no gain right?? Oh I did have a very non painful experience in December at the Cerritos Ziba but I forgot her name. But the desk knew to give her to me.. It was my birthday and I told them I didn't want an ounce of ouch. on my day. It's always a hit or miss. I'm not going to this lication anymore, is always a hit or miss. I try different technicians, the same technicians. ..always disappointment. I have thick eyebrows and I want to keep it that way. I explain to them how I want it but I always feel rushed and as if they don't listen. This time I went to Sesa (sp) because she did a wonderful job before, this time it was shit. She didn't really hear what I said. I suggest you call and make a reservation if you want to get your eyebrows done, because this place gets very busy... I always go to my eyebrow lady Tenny... She is just super sweet and very nice... She's gentle when she does my eyebrows and never pokes my eyes ( other places I've gone to they poke my eyes and it was annoying ) I always and make sure I make a reservation with Tenny because Tenny is so good at what she does, she also does waxes... Usually a long wait but worth it if Tenny or Sasa is there. Theses two ladies know what they're doing. Every once in a while I go when they're not there and because I'm desperate, I have another girl do my eyebrows. I always regret it. The front desk girls are always nice. F.Y.I. I was just there this Wednesday with my daughter at 2:40pm. $24 plus tip for both of us to get our eyebrows done. Last time I was there when they did have happy hour, it was $9. Did prices go up? For the past EIGHT years my eyebrows have been on point and its all because of Sasa! :) I've tried numerous different Ziba locations (even other women working at this Ziba) and NO ONE can work their magic like Sasa does on my eyebrows. It's not unusual to walk in and see the other ladies sitting in their own stations talking amongst themselves, while Sasa is busy and has a couple of loyal customers waiting for her. Threading isn't for the faint of heart, but Sasa makes you feel as comfortable as possible. She always greets me with a hug and she gets to know her clients on a first name basis. She asks you how you want your eyebrows, if your okay, if you'd like your eyebrows filled, etc. You never feel scared or worried about what's happening during your service with her. I've recommended some friends to Sasa and they all love her as much as I do! :) Make sure to get a stamp card so you can earn a free service! read more

The ladies are pretty friendly here, and the wait times are usually not long. Especially around 7-8 pm on weekdays. My fave lady is Sasa. She knows how to shape eyebrows, and has the hands of an angel. read more

Heads Up everyone, Ziba recently raised their prices by 33%. A brow clean up went from $12 to $16...way too much of an increase especially when their are other options out there.
