These windows also needed to be period accurate with a modern affordance towards thermal performance. Stephen came by, measured everything once, and then showed up on the scheduled date to do the install. I had to move a bunch of furniture around the window areas so they could set up, and they sealed off the work area and placed paper through the house to save wear and tear. Everything went perfectly, with no notes. The windows are beautiful, perform extremely well, and I couldn't be more pleased. This room is now pleasant to be in during the cold winter months. This installation had fewer complications in the house than the first one because there was less rot being up on the second floor, but in both cases, Sashwright displayed a great amount of attention to detail and precision in their work. If you're blessed to own one of Portland's many Century homes and you would like to keep its charm while updating the panes with modern technology, Sashwright should be at the top of your list. We've done 9 windows now, in various configuratiuons, and we will be continuing with them for the remainder as our budget becomes available because they're fantastic.

Carl did an excellent job leading both the window removal and reinstallation; the team was very respectful of our home and worked hard to keep it clean and safe during the work. Carl was also very warm, answered all of our questions, and worked very hard to make sure all of our concerns were fully addressed. The restored windows are BEAUTIFUL. The Sashwright uses very high quality materials and has a keen attention to detail - you can really see the care and attention to detail in the final product. They're also highly functional - Carl re-balanced all of the windows and window weights so they slide open and shut easily - buttery smooth action. We asked the Sashwright to re-screen some of the storm windows with cat proof screening. Matt completed this job extremely quickly and that process was completely painless and unintrusive. Throughout the entire process Deborah did an incredible job running logistics. There were a LOT of moving parts for this work and through her efforts they all came together smoothly. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.

Starting with the sales person, Joe, he thoroughly explained what they would do for me. He was knowledgeable and personable. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The bid was higher than the others but after researching (ACAE) and speaking with Joe, I was convinced they were the company for me. In this case, you really get what you pay for. I was introduced to Josh, the Project Manager. Once again, very knowledgeable and personable. Very easy to work with and communicated with me on a daily basis. When problems cropped up, he was always there to offer suggestions on how to proceed. His crew, led by Nikolay with Rosty and Eugene, did amazing work. The workmanship is impeccable; the crew was very organized and professional. They always made the worksite safe and clean; leaving everything spotless when they left at the end of the day. I can't emphasize enough the quality of their work. It was just beautiful. The paint crew, led by Vladimir, once again did unbelievable work; totally transforming the appearance of an already exquisite job. Although color decisions were ultimately mine, Vladimir was always willing to offer a suggestion as to which color to use on a particular area. (I had selected four colors for the primary on the house, secondary for the house, trim and the doors.) These individuals collectively transformed my house (a basic ranch) into a home that I am proud to show off. In summation, I would highly recommend A Cut Above Exteriors if you want premium quality work on your home. You can probably get a siding job done cheaper but I truly believe you get what you pay for.
