The process of ordering is pretty straightforward, but notice that they don't include an reference to delivery in their paperwork. I ordered in February, was told 2-3 months, and here I am in late September still waiting. To make it worse, I only get an update when I finally get ahold of someone and they tell me they're probably on the next truck. They aren't on the next truck. I know its not the fault of the guy who gets stuck answering the calls. I feel bad for him. They simply aren't designed to follow-up with you, and they don't intend to commit to any timeline with you. I wish I'd paid with credit card so I could contest the charge due to lack of delivery. Learn from my mistake. There are local window companies that have more skin in the game.

The 6' x 8' double pane glass iwas nstalled in less than a week and was he was even flexible on the day so we could do it when our store was closed. It was by no means an easy install either but Shaun helped me understand how to direct a third party to help with the molding preparation and all went smoother than we could have expected. 5 stars for everything from price, to install, service and cleanup! Not the kind of service you hope you need again and again but if I do I'll call them first!

The work the crew did was exactly what was promised, and the windows work great. I stopped by one afternoon to check on them, and the house was open. The windows were out, the holes weren't boarded up, and there was no one there. I came in, and just stood there, totally stunned. I was there for a little over 15 minutes before anyone comes out. My home is on a main road, I've had issues with packages missing off my porch, I can only imagine what might have happened if someone feeling thefty had walked by and just seen the whole side of the house open. I called, and the reaction was 'Oh, they must have just gone for lunch'. Lunch? With my home open? They even left a ladder pulled up, so someone could have just hopped in. Apparently this is just how they do business, because both the owner on the phone and the workers (when they returned from getting coffee) just shrugged like it was no big deal. Also, when the work was done (which I had to call myself to find out about, there were no updates, no progress reports, and no notification when the work was completed) I went to check it out and the back door to the basement was unlocked. So anyone could have entered the house through there at any time between the completion of the job(which again, no notification) and when I went to check on it. So down one star for leaving the house open and the door unlocked, and one for shrugging and not taking my concerns seriously. Again, the windows work fine now, but I don't appreciate them being so lackadaisical about my home being secure when they weren't present.

Update: We rehired…read moreSashwright to do a set of 6 single hung windows in a large upstairs room in our house. These windows also needed to be period accurate with a modern affordance towards thermal performance. Stephen came by, measured everything once, and then showed up on the scheduled date to do the install. I had to move a bunch of furniture around the window areas so they could set up, and they sealed off the work area and placed paper through the house to save wear and tear. Everything went perfectly, with no notes. The windows are beautiful, perform extremely well, and I couldn't be more pleased. This room is now pleasant to be in during the cold winter months. This installation had fewer complications in the house than the first one because there was less rot being up on the second floor, but in both cases, Sashwright displayed a great amount of attention to detail and precision in their work. If you're blessed to own one of Portland's many Century homes and you would like to keep its charm while updating the panes with modern technology, Sashwright should be at the top of your list. We've done 9 windows now, in various configuratiuons, and we will be continuing with them for the remainder as our budget becomes available because they're fantastic.

We had The Sashwright install custom storm windows, remove the original wood windows, restore them, and reinstall them. Carl did an excellent job leading both the window removal and reinstallation; the team was very respectful of our home and worked hard to keep it clean and safe during the work. Carl was also very warm, answered all of our questions, and worked very hard to make sure all of our concerns were fully addressed. The restored windows are BEAUTIFUL. The Sashwright uses very high quality materials and has a keen attention to detail - you can really see the care and attention to detail in the final product. They're also highly functional - Carl re-balanced all of the windows and window weights so they slide open and shut easily - buttery smooth action. We asked the Sashwright to re-screen some of the storm windows with cat proof screening. Matt completed this job extremely quickly and that process was completely painless and unintrusive. Conveniently located (but a bit hard to spot in an industrial cul-de-sac) across from the Oak Grove P.O., Coast came to my rescue. It's a small shop with a family feel, clean and well-maintained. It was one of those unusual situations, like getting a new prescription filled, where I didn't know if it was going to cost $40 or $400. Happily it was a bargain at $75 and completed within the quoted timeframe of 7-10 days. My house is now back as it should be.

The office manager Carla was great to work with and Rick handled all the details for production and did the install himself. Super pleasant experience all around! I specifically wanted rounded edges. We went frameless because the framing company they use couldn't do rounded corner thin metal frames, and while I was bummed about that I think it still turned out beautiful. He didn't pressure me or make a hard sale and was patient while we decided how to move forward with this very major project. He just patiently and efficiently answered every question either in person or over text and email. Alanna in the office was great at communicating throughout - from start to finish. She confirmed our appointment for the bid, even sending me a picture of Matt beforehand so I'd know who to expect, then sent me many informational guides, forms, receipts, etc. throughout the process. She never missed a beat and was so understanding and helpful while I tried to choose paint colors - helping out where my colorblind husband could not! Our house turned out to be a rotten mess with no insulation beneath the original siding, and Matt and his crew really problem solved to help us get it fixed without going too far out of our budget. They made it manageable. When we decided how to move forward, they got it done quickly and correctly. It turned out to be a much bigger project than we expected, but our house is in such better shape now, and we've already noticed a difference in our electricty bill. Matt always caught things on walkthroughs that we didn't and made sure his crews came back to fix them, ensuring every detail was done right. They got our house looking so great. I was looking at bids from multiple companies, and SES stood out as one of the most competitive on price -- but what ultimately won my business was their flexibility and great communication both with me and between the various roles within the company. Artie was endlessly patient with my many questions during the initial discussion phase and showed flexibility and creativity in solving problems as we hammered out the plan for my exterior remodel. Both he and Matt (my project manager) showed a willingness to resolve my every concern to make sure I was happy with the result. When I interacted with the company office, both Michelle and Alanna impressed me with their clear communication and friendly demeanor. This really is a quality operation; they're honest and they stand by their work. The crew who came out to do the installation were amazing, showing that same level of professionalism and customer orientation.
