Wow, THIS is how all contractors should be! On time, courteous, easy to work with, got the job done fast and right, were reasonably priced (actually below the quoted cost), and they do a great job. They added outdoor lighting to the back yard and carport and a power outlet to our little old 1950's ranch house that had ZERO outdoor electrical, making life safer and more convenient. So I have to say top notch is an understatement when it comes to Kyle and his dad. I called a few weeks ago to get an estimate and was told they were very busy but they'd gladly get to me if it wasn't an inconvenience to wait. That was the 1st sign that this would be a great experience and it really was. (Now I have to say the one and only non 5star review that I read here is in my opinion form a whiner based on all his other reviews of other business') again MY opinion. So Kyle came out and gave an estimate then even came out a second time (I wasn't available for the 1st estimate) and he even went out of his way to come by before I went to work. Now that is customer service. So fast forward to the work beginning and everything was gone over again to be sure the scope of work was clear. The job was done professionally, clean and efficiently. At no time did I feel pressured to do any additional work (I had in the past by larger companies). During the work I even added a few things and they just took care of it. Checked yelp for an electrician in my area to do some minor repairs. I called and left a voice message and followed it up with a detailed email regarding the problems. Kyle called a few hours later. I was expecting to have to schedule in the future but he stated he had a cancellation for the next morning. He gave me a tentative estimate over the phone. Outstanding. I could not be more satisfied and I will hire Zimco electric for all future electrical needs, repairs and upgrades. I accidentally mangled my ceiling fan by moving a ladder near it while it was still on *note to self - don't do that again. It was mounted to a vaulted ceiling and had a sturdy down-rod, fan did not wobble etc. After bunking into it with the ladder it wobbled like it was gonna come off the ceiling. I contacted Zimco, that is operated by Kyle and his dad to see if they could fix it. They both came by and tried to salvage the fan, climbing up the ladder and tried to re-secure the down-rod, and balance the fan blades, and then pointed out the damage I had done and why replacing it was necessary. Kyle also recommended a range of cost for a good ceiling fan built to last, and advised how to avoid overspending. I was not charged for this first service call and in this day and age I was just blown away by that. Kyle said get a new fan and call him when I'm ready. And that's exactly what I did and I'm enjoying this fan now as I write this. Kyle had promptly returned my initial contact which I had sent via an email address, and then followed up with a phone called as soon as I purchased the ceiling fan. Very professional, informative, on time and affordable. Pretty awesome to see a father and son team working together. I highly recommend Zimco electric. Just to reiterate: I paid for the service call for the fan removal and new fan installation, however the first service call where they tried to fix it they did not charge me. I felt compelled to give them something for their time but he refused and said they happened to be in the neighborhood. Kyle also helped us by replacing a fire alarm battery that's like 12' from the ground. read more

What rare customer service Kyle and company provide! They installed photo cells in my exterior lights...not a big job, though they were pros all the way. Many months later, though, the cells went bad...I thought that replacement would be inexpensive (e.g., not worth Zimco's time) and I live on the opposite side of town, so I didn't honestly think Zimco would make the job a priority. Based on experience with other companies, I braced myself for an "I'll get to it when I get to it" approach, but man, was I wrong. Kyle very literally went out of his way to visit my side of town and to replace the faulty cells before the holidays, allowing me to go on vacation with peace of mind. Also, I was in the "gray" area for warranty and offered payment, but Kyle politely declined, confirming that there'd be no charge at all! Focus on the small things, building a relationship with the customer...it's rare to sense "family" in a "family owned & operated business", but that's exactly what I got from Zimco.
