We rented equipment to walk the Narrows from Zion Adventures and they were very friendly, never made us feel rushed when we asked to try on multiple sizes of boots and gave volunteers advice on the hike as well as local restaurants. Someone literally stole my walking stick on the hike and they didn't charge me for it. And the prices were significantly cheaper than the outfitter that's next to the visitor center. read more

Erin was top-notch with teaching our Half-Day Canyoneering class to prepare us for The Subway, top-bottom route. We definitely would not have been able to go through it confidently without the class. He was patient, easy-going and knowledgeable. He took us out to a 20-25 ft boulder a few minutes out of town to practice rappelling too! Note: Next day gear including wetsuits, helmet, canyoneering boots, dry bag, rope and harness were all included from that course. A real steal for $151 pp. Be advised that if it is your first time canyoneering, then give yourself extra time along The subway by starting just before sunrise to give you plenty of time to return your gear by closing time (8p) or else you have to wait and return it the following day. read more

There are few times when a company can prove that they are indeed a 5 star outfit. My experience is one of those times. I had booked a guide to teach me and my wife how to canyoneer for our subway hike. I come by the shop to check my reservation and find out that I'm booked for a outing and not a training course and need to switch. I'm upset because I made it clear what I wanted but a new employee had made a mistake. I am angry it's 7:30 pm the shop closes in 30 minutes. The store manager affectionately know as "Ritzy" could of just given me back my money and sent me on my way. But he wanted to make it right. He switched the schedules around and gave me their best guide Whitney. Who was amazing she taught me and wife every skill we needed to complete the subway hike. Whitney is a natural teacher and an outstanding guide. Her confidence is infectious and she had my wife rappelling like a pro. Ritzy, I want to thank you for taking the time to make sure I didn't do something that I would of regretted. Getting to do this with my wife was the best thing I could of asked for on my 50th. Great guidance on renting Narrows equipment, and some special advice that made our hike a blast and other hikers jealous. They showed a short, helpful movie on what to expect on the hike, were very friendly and helpful on selecting gear, and had a seamless return process. The weather and water temp were close to the border of using dry suits, and the person helping us said to go for the dry suits and use them for floating in the stream on the way back. We took that advice - it was hard to lay down in the cold water the first time, but after that, every part of the hike that had deep enough flowing water, we jumped right in. Almost no one else on the trail had dry suits, and they were bummed that they couldn't do what we were doing. We would never have intentionally done that without the salesperson telling us that's what she does, and it made a truly incredible hike even more spectacular. read more

The gears are a must if you plan to hike the narrows to keep yourself dry and warm. We somewhat got ignore and no one was really explaining anything to us after we watch the safety movie even though one of the staffs told us they will help us out. It was only after 10-15 mins another group came to watch the movie and afterward we joined other people group instruction about how to put the wet pant on/off properly that I ask that can we also get our gears. The instruction was definitely helpful and necessary because we would have totally destroyed the pant attempting to take it on/off the pant. I only realize that the length of the sock is important because they offered me a kid size sock (because my feet is super small) and they were cut in short to accommodate the kids. The water definitely got into the sock for sure while I was hiking. But the pant definitely kept your whole legs dry (just make sure to wear another non-cotton layer pant to keep the heat insulated because the pant designed to only keep you dry). I'm not too sure the staffs are just tired because it was not too busy while we were there. They would definitely receive 5 stars if the staffs were more attentive to us while we were there to help us answer our questions. read more

Not sure where to start with these guys. We made a $10 per person reservation for our Narrows hike. Now the challenge with Narrows is getting their via shuttle which if you can't secure a month prior you have to log in the day before at 5pm to try to get left over tickets---usually about 350 up for grabs. We got them!! BUT the Zion Adventure company closes at 5pm so you have to come back in morning when they open @ 9am. Shuttles start at 7am and that's the time slot we were able to get. So.... had to forgo our $40 reservation holder because... well you have to get it by now. The other rental spots are open till 8pm. So they got our business and our 5 star review as a result. Zion Adventure Company made $40 bucks off us for closing @ 5pm. Go elsewhere. Probably nice people but cater to the business you are in guys. And REFUND us on a fee that just doesn't make sense to charge us. We had no reservations at the other places and no early fees and got everything we needed. read more

BEWARE! I rented the Narrows gear (dry suit, boots, stick) late yesterday to do the hike today. This morning I decided to use my own fly fishing waders to keep my feet dry instead of the gear from Zion Adventure, which has wet feet waders. I returned their gear this evening totally dry since I never put it on. They checked the ankle seals and one had a tear in it. They charged me $27 for the repair. I can see their side of it, partially. But the gear was totally dry, obviously had not been used. I don't have a clue when the tear occurred, but it wasn't when I used it. I'm not saying don't use Zion Adventure Co but there are plenty of other places to rent from. Might want to consider those other places. read more

This was my second time, returning back from 5 years ago when I first rented gear for the Narrows, going solo at that time. My family member and I this time rented full gear for the Narrows this past weekend. Staff was exceptionally professional, clear, concerned and informative and educational about every aspect of our day trip. Gear, food, water, potential dangers, potential injuries, hypothermia, timing, and what to expect, all aspects. All my questions were answered, again. Staff took special extra time with my family member who was going for the first time. Every aspect of the hike into the Narrows was reviewed, besides fitting us and explaining and showing how to put the gear on. Reassurances around safety recommendations, helped to relieve our anxiety about the adventure and enjoy ourselves. Layout of the canyon and options for end points also reviewed. All gear was perfect and as expected. Return of gear was fast and easy. I had called just prior to showing up, asking a gazillion questions, that staff was also so informative and professional, I'm sure anything I asked was something they've answered a million times, but still had the patience like I was their first customer ever. Thanks to the company and staff for making our visit to Zion a great lifetime memory. read more

Overall I enjoyed the experience that Zion Adventure Company provided, we rented 4 sets of dry pants from them to hike the narrows over the Thanksgiving weekend. We called and reserved prior to coming and they had everything ready when we arrived. The staff was courteous and professional. The hike through the narrows was crowded, especially the shuttle bus but it was great fun. (For this I'd give it 5/5) However at the end of the day when taking off my dry pants I barely pulled on the gasket around the ankle and it immediately proceed to break. It was genuinely very little force. (The other leg withstood far more stretching) I told the employees who to his credit; very politely said it is going to be 25$ for the broken gasket. I feel that this puts the onus on the customer if the equipment just wears out and I feel it is bad practice. I feel that there should be a tracking system so that if a pair of pants is used more than X times; a broken gasket may be discounted or forgiven because it is wearing out. Overall it just left a very bad taste in my mouth after a great day. read more

Helped make our Zion NP stop to hike the Narrows a reality after we found out the day before that we would have to either: 1) Arrive at 5am to get in (because of covid restrictions) and not be able to rent gear beforehand 2) Arrive once gear rental locations open and likely not be able to get into the park However, Zion Adventure Company saved the day by replying to our emails as late as 9:30pm the night before (way past close, special shout out to Michele!) and having a shuttle spot open for the very next morning. Customer service unlike anything I've seen before. Additionally, the rental gear was high quality and all employees were supremely friendly. Thanks to Zion Outfitters and Red Rock Shuttle as well for directing us to the right place even though they couldn't help us directly. This shop is located a short distance from the entrance to Zion National Park. I stopped by to rent equipment for hiking the Narrows. It was relatively cheap -- about $21 per person -- for neoprene socks, boots, and a walking stick. The rental process was easy. You have to watch an short video about hiking the Narrows, fill out the rental agreement on an iMac, and find the correct sizes of equipment you need. They open around 8am and you can be in and out with your gear in about half an hour. If you want to hike the Narrows early in the morning, you can rent the gear the day before (after 4:30pm) and return it by 7pm the day of your hike. The staff was very friendly and informative and they were all happy to answer any questions about the hike. I'd gladly come back if I need their services or gear again. read more

My friend and I booked a half-day canyoneering adventure with the Zion Adventure Company this spring and I cannot say enough positive things about them. First, our booking experience was incredibly smooth. The customer service was stellar. The employee who took our reservation was knowledgeable, friendly, warm, and helpful. He answered all my questions with ease and made sure I knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into. I had questions about which trips would be most suitable for canyoneering first-timers, and he was able to help us select the best option. Then, the day of our trip, our guide was there ready to go right before our scheduled departure time and had all the equipment and paperwork ready. Sam answered our questions and confirmed our understanding of what we'd signed up for. From start to finish, he put us at ease and made sure we had a fantastic time. Our half-day adventure included rappelling into a canyon, some down-climbing, and scrambling - all of which we were super nervous about, but Sam infused the entire trip with humor, careful attention to safety, and thorough explanations of each obstacle. Sam even shared plenty of knowledge about the geology and history of the area which helped round out our experience. If you're considering a canyoneering trip while in Zion - and you really, really should because it's an amazing way to explore the area without the crowds - definitely check out ZAC. All of the staff I encountered were passionate about their work and about delivering the highest level of customer service possible. They were especially awesome with beginners like us, and I know they offer more advanced trips too. I'd definitely do another trip with them if I went to Zion again, and so I recommend them without hesitation. We had an absolute blast! My girlfriend and I are into hiking, biking, rafting, skydiving and pretty much everything else that can hurt or kill you :) We had our trip pretty much planed out, but we didn't have anything pinned for some days in Zion because we've got 5 full days of rough hiking prior that. Somehow we landed at the Zion Adventures Company and quite shortly after that we were sold on a full day of guided canyoneering. With minimal knowledge of ropes and no experience in rappelling, we were lucky enough to be guided by Erin Jamros who made the entire experience just perfect. From providing the helmet with all GoPro mounts (cause I was out of them) to "forgetting" to mention there was a free fall at the end of one of the rappels we did (big surprise if you like such surprises of course :) The guide you go with doesn't just make a difference. He or she can tilt your experience from a waste of time to OMG I can't believe I haven't done it earlier. We've got very lucky with Erin, who made us feel very comfortable from the moment we met at the parking lot. He was extremely easy going and very patient with our lack of experience and heavy accents. He knew what he was doing and he let us choose the difficulty and dry/wet level throughout the day. We really enjoyed every minute of it and we do recommend this to anyone who's up for some challenge! The level can be as easy as for small kids or as extreme as it gets. In hindsight, I should have read that canyoneering is considered an extreme sport. All I remembered reading on the web site was that even kids could do it. So, I figured easy peasy. I was expecting to rappel a little and then have beer afterwards . . . Signed up for their Canyon Adventure Day for $119 (price depends on group number). The day can be geared toward what the group wants, ranging from 45 mins to 1.5 hr hike up between 400 to 1200 ft in elevation gain, up to 8 rappels, and swimming/wading in canyon water. The outfitter is excellent - they provide you with everything you need for the day, such as packs with dry bags, harnesses, dry suits (that look like race car driver suits), extra fleece tops and bottoms, nerdy bright yellow or white helmets, special neoprene socks, and cool waterproof hiking shoes that grip well to wet rocks. Everything seemed clean and in good working order. Note: you'll have to do your best sausage impression to get your head, arms, legs, and feet through the dry suit and socks. In addition, no matter how hard you try, you will not look sexy with all that gear on. Turned out to be a test of physical and mental mettle. There's hiking uphill with heavy packs, scrambling over boulders, problem solving, and rappelling into very chilly pools. We got there at 7:30 a.m. sharp with little food or sleep, they drove us on a bumpy ride to Water Canyon (remote and near a Amish-like/Little House on the Prairie community, but I digress) outside of Zion for our full day adventure. Didn't like the fact that we had to carry our gear ourselves and problem solve (if I wanted to experience Survivor Real World, I'd just watch it on TV). Though we had a guide, we guided ourselves. We hiked up about 2 miles with our heavy packs, descended down two 40 ft. rappels, one 100 ft. rappel, and a teeny tiny rappel at the end. We bumbled around in brown muddy, arctic water (dry suits turned into inflatable flotation devices in water) and figured out how to get ourselves over and down huge boulder barriers. Finished the whole shebang around 5 p.m. All in all, I'm glad I did it (what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?), and it was true outdoor adventure. Recommend it for hardcore outdoor enthusiasts (those who like peeing in flowing water or using a poopie bag) and for team building folks, not so much for cupcake eating, urban at heart girls like myself. If you're planning on doing the Narrows hike in Zion National Park then this is the best place to rent equipment! The Narrows hike is mostly in a river, so there are certain things you'll need if you want the hike to be enjoyable or fun. ZAC has various items you can borrow depending on the season in Zion National Park. --Canyoneers Hiking Shoes --Neoprene Socks --Drysuit --Drypants --Wooden Walking Stick --Fleece items (hat, gloves, jacket, etc.) --Drybags Since we were hiking in August in the summer, the weather was pretty hot (around 75F in the morning and 90F in the afternoon), so my group used a rental package including hiking shoes, socks and a wooden walking stick. We decided to wear spandex shorts instead of drypants because the water was somewhat warm (around 60F). In total, the drybag cost around $23 after tax, so not too bad of a deal. My group didn't use drybags because most of us had our own backpacks. I used my own hydration pack and that was sufficient to protect my personal items since the river was only at my knees for most of the hike. IMPORTANT - BUY THE CORRECT SIZE FOR YOUR HIKING SHOES AND SOCKS! ZAC advises you to buy shoes that are at least a thumb width wide, but I rented shoes that were a full size above my regular shoe size. Since I'm a size 7, I rented a size 8. If you borrow a size that's too small, your feet will swell and cause your toes to curl. This could create friction for your toenails and actually cause them to bruise or even bleed :( This happened with some of my friends who borrowed too small of a shoe size and the hike back from the Narrows was very painful for them. Also, get a walking stick that's properly sized. The walking stick should stand somewhere below your ears and above your shoulders. If the stick is too short, then it won't be as efficient as it could be. If you think $23 is too steep of a price for the rental package, then consider this. The rocks in the Narrows hike are extremely slippery since they're constantly submerged in the river. I never fell during the hike, but I saw other people who were wearing regular sneakers slip and fall into the river and on the rocks multiple times. Ouch. So why 4 STARS instead of 5? Some people in my group mentioned that some of the employees at ZAC were not really helpful in giving advice on shoe sizes or walking sticks so they ended up getting the incorrect size. Make sure to rent your equipment early too! ZAC opens at 8AM so we went there right when the store opened. It takes a while to find the right sock and shoe size, and by 8:45AM the place was extremely crowded. It was also easy to return the equipment. We returned the items to an employee and then we gave him our names. On Saturday, ZAC closes at 8:00PM so as long as you return the item before that time, then you're good. Overall though, a great place to rent equipment! read more

This is where we went to get the equipment for our canyoneers. It was $19 per person to rent 5.10 canyoneer shoes, 5mm Neoprene socks and big wooden walking sticks. It's only $9.50 for additional days. The shoes stink SOOOOOOOOO BADLY. Do not smell. Do not let your face come anywhere near these shoes. They smell like Satan's armpit... or worse... I was also out of lip stuff and they carried a range of Burt's Bees lip products. Awesomesauce. The orientation video is hilarious but informative. Some of it is common sense, but it's good to be reminded of, some of it is downright scary... definitely glad they had this. Quote from Mr. Rosie S.: "Those guys are top shelf, yo!" Our uncle Jerry tells a story of a group of people that wanted to rent gear to hike Orderville. Zion Adventure Company was where they went (of course - it's the best), and due to the high alerts and safety hazards of the day/season/weather, they were refused rental and told that doing Orderville on that day under those conditions would be suicide. The owner, Jonathan, warned them not to go, and would not even take a bribe to rent them equipment. They ignored him, went anyway, and died. What's ORDERVILLE CANYON? Orderville Canyon is a favorite side-trip from the main Narrows corridor. Orderville is the only "turn" you can take from the main path, an intimate side-canyon leading East. Orderville is much narrower and shallower than the Narrows, and much less water flows through it. As you hike up Orderville Canyon, you must solve obstacles along the way and turn around at the plaque at Veiled Falls. If you choose to explore Orderville Canyon, help members of your party and NEVER jump down into pools. A great top-down, semi-technical canyoneering trip. Requires a Park permit. Yeah. This is serious stuff. Trust the people who know what they are doing. Every single staff member is an expert. They probably save lives every day. read more

Rented the warm weather package to hike The Narrows in July. The package includes neoprene booty, river shoes, and walking stick and costs approximately $25 for the day. Staff are super helpful & informative. The have a short video that is like 5 minutes long on what to expect and how to prepare for hiking The Narrows. Saw a lot of people ill prepared for The Narrows in terms of footwear, hiking sticks, water, & sun hat/screen. Avoid their misery and stop by Zion Adventure and get outfitted right. Pro tip: A little vaseline on your foot will help it slip right into the neoprene booty. read more

Let me first start by saying that the experience at Zion Adventures is simply amazing - the store is laid out very well and the staff are all very well trained. Most of the people I spoke to were extremely helpful and willing to go above and beyond to offer advice and help to customers. The reason why I'm writing a negative review is simply because of one employee and doesn't reflect on the store or many of it's staff members. I called into Zion adventures earlier today and he was giving me great advice about hiking in the narrows - I asked him if I rented a dry suit if I needed to wear long underwear, he said the shop had fleece bottoms to rent but it was entirely up to me. Here's where everything went south - I went to the store and completed the dry suit rentals... as I was getting ready to leave I heard the employee talking about an idiot of a customer (he was referring to me earlier on the phone) who asked if he should wear long underwear... He kept going on about how stupid! (me again) this customer was. It completely put me off and really made me feel uncomfortable about coming back to the store... I'm sure the employee (I forget the guy's name, but he looked like blue from the movie old school) didn't mean to be rude, but to be honest, it didn't make me feel that great - if he wanted to complain about a potential customer, he should've done it in the back of the store where no one could hear.... read more

Very disappointed, July 7th we made reservations with zion adventures because there were no daily National Park tickets available to get a ride to the Narrows. The shuttles cost $1 if you use a shuttle from the park service. This may be a once in a lifetime trip for our family and we thought it would be a really cool experience to go to the Narrows. The only other way of getting to the Narrows is through a private company like zion adventures, we were kind of stuck because of no park service shuttle openings the day we were there and it being really difficult to get a shuttle ticket. My wife decided to surprise me and pay the $55 per person (up front) for the zion adventures trip. I'm a first responder professional and a day or two after booking the trip I was called by my job. I was told I was exposed to Covid-19 the day before our vacation started. We decided to cut our trip short as too not go to the Narrows just incase I had Covid-19. I wouldn't want to spread it any further if I had it. We called zion adventures multiple times, sent emails, and left a voice mail trying to tell zion adventures what had taken place. We tried to talk to them to see about canceling our trip or to see if they still wanted us to come. Also too see if they had a Covid-19 policy. No one returned our messages while we were in Utah whatsoever. Approximately a week later we get the message below from them saying no refunds. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT on these private contractors and second hand companies websites, as they are not all honest and bury things you really need to know in the fine print. Also makes you wonder how much they are taking people's safety into consideration and if they are taking Covid-19 seriously or not? For my fellow First Responders you may want to rethink using this service and look at the other services to see if they are First Responder friendly or not. Convenient location. Good price. Friendly staff. I hiked the narrows with a few friends last weekend. I spearheaded the idea of renting gear from ZAC. I wasn't about to spend $100+ on Five-Ten Canyoneers, regardless of how amazingly well they cling to wet rock. For $20, you also get neoprene socks to keep your toesies warm and a wooden walking stick to keep your balance in the water. I'd say those three items are the triforce of river hiking gear. I thought the "orientation video" would be silly and unnecessary, but I actually found a lot of the tips to be useful once we hit the water. I can't speak for their other adventure offerings, but if you plan on hitting the narrows, this place is a must stop. read more

ZAC attitude and customer service the BEST! My teenage son and I scored a hard-to-get permit to do the 16 mile Narrows top down day hike and booked the 6:30 am ZAC shuttle to get trial head. We were up at 5:30 but arrived at ZAC just after 6:30 and missed the shuttle! We were so bummed. But a ZAC employee called a supervisor, Dave, at his home. 20 minutes later, Dave showed up in his Land Rover and saved the day! Dave made the 3 hour round trip drive for us and treated it like it was no big deal. Along the way Dave gave us some good tips for lesser known hikes in and around ZNP. Thanks to Dave and ZAC, my son and I had an epic day that we will always remember. Dave is a ZAC hero. read more

A great place to gear up for The Narrows. You may think it is granny to walk with a stick, but trust me you will be glad you did it. The staff here is super friendly and awesome about educating you on signs of a flash flood. Honestly, you guys need to know this safety information before doing it and I wouldn't had known at all if I just did it without going there. Thanks to Zion Adventure Co, I didn't do my own version of 127 Hours :P Oh yeah, the shoes and socks do smell like rotten eggs. I contacted Zion Adventures with a special need, my son is severely autistic and asked if they would work with us to do some basic climbing and rappelling or technical canyon work. They were very thoughtful and considerate and most importantly the were thinking Safety First. I was not asking for a compromise of safety. After reviewing my sons experiences they believed they could assist in making this a trip that my son and I would never forget. The spend several minutes hearing what my son had done and asking good questions about his abilities. My son is non verbal and low language receptive skills but very agile and lives adventure, climbing, etc. Erin was our guide and although not super familiar with autistic kids at first he ended the day as a real expert and assisted is on several amazing Rappels, rock climbs and slot canyons. This was not a day trip and was in a training area... Remember safety was top of mind, but the experience and the things that my son felt and saw were amazing. Erin was patient and a real professional he was able to get us on about 8 rappels, several little climbs and an adventure filled day. I hoped to add and build another thing that me and my autistic boy can spend time doing. This was the third year in a row visiting zion and a step up to do some raining I technical climbing. Erin and the staff at zion adventure is first class and great people and I can't thank them enough for taking the time to give me and my son the experience we won't ever forget. To add, I believe that even our guide Erin felt a since of real gratitude to spend a day with Sammy who incidentally loved the day but was very tired from the compete narrow hike the day prior.... That said he didn't start out to well, but Erin was an amazing person to have real patience and work him through it. I hope to visit again soon and continue to build I the basics that we gained with a goal of someday getting my son on a canyoneering trip. Thanks to all at Zion adventures... Since my adventure partner and I decided very last minute to do the Narrows Hike (having driven in from AZ), we were not prepared in the least. $90 bucks later, we had sunscreen, sunblock, water hiking shoes, walking sticks, and neoprene socks. There was a great little intro video in the store to get us situated, and the staff were super helpful. They had great tips about what else to do in the park for our future visits. There's also a clean restroom/changing room, as well as hoses in the back to wash out your feet (as they will smell like stale neoprene, which is not cute). Definitely recommended. If you're doing the narrows, the gear works well, and is $21 for shoes, socks, and a walking stick. Can't beat that for a day of memories! read more

Booked a guided tour of the narrows (March) and had an awesome time. Both tour guides were great and were happy to show us the ropes as well as inform us about the park and geologic sites. The guided hike was perfect and was a ton of fun and highly recommend. Equipment was great and stayed very warm in the cold water. Also supplied us with extra gear to make sure we had everything we wanted/needed. Our guides also gave us some tips and suggestions for our upcoming hikes which was much appreciated. This outfitter is great to get you to the zion narrows hike. However, I have one MAJOR COMPLAINT--the water shoes and socks did not fit me perfectly and almost tore the toenail off both big toes. It was a very painful experience the last 3 miles on the hike. Considering the low water level when i hiked the Narrows (june 17) the outfitter should have suggested that i use my hiking shoes which fit me perfectly. BEWARE IF YOU RENT THE WATER SHOES AND SOCKS otherwise, the staff was very nice and helpful. read more

I spent $60+ to rent a dry suit that leaked. Not only did it leak, it only leaked in one area, but the water-tight ankle openings made sure that all the cold water stayed IN my dry suit while I hiked. There are only so many times I want to "empty" my dry suit because I resolve to just be cold and miserable. When I told them about it upon return of the dry suit, they just shrugged and told me they hoped I had a good time anyway. Is that supposed to be some sort of a joke. Would you have fun trekking up and down the narrows lugging a gallon of cold water in your pant leg? read more

I highly recommend Zion Adventure Company for The Narrows Outfitting. For the price of $51 per person, you get a full dry suit, neoprene socks, and water shoes. Your feet get wet, but stay warm and the rest of your body stays dry. The employees are courteous, kind, and genuinely care about your safety and fun. When you come in, there's a short video you watch and then if you have questions, he employees have answers. Make reservations in advance and provide them with your weight and height. It's much faster this way and that way, you can go ahead and get going after the informational video and talk! read more

My friends and I hiked the Zion Narrows in early November when the water level was knee deep to mid-thigh level. I called Zion Adventure Co. because my friend used them last year and their website is very informative and accessible. I made a reservation for the Dry Pants package. The weather was perfect the day we hiked, cold enough for a light jacket, but not for the hat and gloves I brought. The pants, socks, shoes, and walking stick made the hike very enjoyable. We saw some people hiking in shorts and shoes, but they didn't look very happy. Some asked us where we got our pants. I am convinced that we would have been miserable without them. Every employee I e-mailed and spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. I liked that they opened the door early so we could use the restroom (it was a long drive from Las Vegas) and look around. My friend was impressed that when we returned our gear, the lady asked us how we enjoyed our trip. The customer service is great and the equipment we rented was exactly what we needed. read more

Zion Adventure Co. is perfect for everything from equipment rental for the Narrows to guided adventure trips like climbing or canyoneering. If you're just renting equipment, they will sit you down for a short video and demonstration, which will show you how to wear the dry-suits and what to expect when hiking the narrows. The video and demo were extremely informative and left nothing to be desired in terms of information. We also did a canyoneering trip with Zion Adventure Co., which was led by two of their guides who drove us to the site, hiked us through to the canyon, and led us through 8 rappels to the bottom of the canyon. They tailored the trip to our needs and abilities, and were extremely patient with those of us who were slower to pick it up than the others, while allowing the more able canyoneers to go on ahead a little bit. As a complete beginner I couldn't be happier with the way the trip was guided; it was worth every penny of the $150. Overall great equipment, extremely helpful staff, and extra points for the adorable golden retriever, Miles, who hangs out at the store to greet customers. read more

Zion Adventure company is a great outfitter. I've used them for outfitting and arranging shuttle transportation for several hikes in Zion (including the Narrows and West Rim trail). If you're booking a trip from another town, the Zion Adventure Co. website has most of the information you need. When I needed more details, I emailed the company through the general email address on the website and got a response within a day laying out their recommendations for gear. When you show up in person the staff in incredibly friendly and helpful. They seem a bit rushed in the mornings since there are numerous tour groups wandering the store for gear and everyone is on a deadline. The only downside I've experienced is trying to get a question answered while 7 tour groups are all trying to get their questions answered. But, trying issues with customer service in crowds aside, the staff is really the bright spot. Each time I've used them for outfitting, the staff has been excited about the trip we're taking. They're enthused about Zion and it shows. As for the equipment, it's top notch. Hiking the Narrows can be rough on shoes (and feet) and a walking staff. By the time I finished the hike, I'd fallen repeatedly and the walking staff had slammed into many a rock. When I kept my feet, I leaned on that staff heavily. Thumbs up. read more
