Good flight. Total lapse of health safety protocols. Caught COVID after this flight. The flight itself was good, but not exceptional. The pilot is very skilled (we have done several flights in the past) and the facility brand new. However, the experience was very much lessened by two passengers that were not wearing a mask. This is a tight enclosed space and masks should be mandatory or alternatively have distinct flights. It is basic common sense to wear them during COVID-19 but sadly in this case, the company is not enforcing it nor having protocols. Note that the flight is expensive compared to others covering the grand Canyon. In our case, the experience was ruined and it not possible to recommend it. There is more competition over the Grand Canyon with some companies enforcing safety measures. read more

I booked a quick tour with Zion Helicopters for me and my wife for almost $250. We were halfway to its location when it called to cancel our tour. We were told that we were the only passengers booked and they wouldn't fly with fewer than four passengers. However, we were offered an "upgraded" tour three hours later for over $700! I said, "No, thank you!" When we got home, I noticed that Zion Helicopters had charged my credit card, even though it had canceled the tour. First, it tried to "bait and switch" us, then, it fraudulently charged us. This is an unethical business that's not worthy of your trust. read more

This tour was incredible! What a fun day waking up early and hiking inside Zion national park, then enjoying it from the air on this amazing helicopter tour! Pictures don't do it justice! So beautiful the first of April when there was still snow on the mountain tops! Booking the tour was super simple on their website, checking in was very quick and easy with the friendly front desk staff! We finished touring Zion National Park early so we decided to do something for the rest of the afternoon. My family really enjoyed our unplanned 15 mile chopper tour! The experience is so worth it. Not worth the price. Very nice people who work there; absolutely no complaint. Our trip was slightly altered because of winds, which they did reduce the price by 10%, and that was appreciated. But, our $280+tax for 55 miles* is about 20mins...you just see a lot of desert, homes, and views you can see the same from below (and I felt I could see better from the ground). I've done a few helicopter tours and understand it is an expensive endeavor, but expectations did not meet with the cost. Save your money and do something else. read more

My husband booked a tour for him and I as a gift for me over 4 weeks ago. They told him they would not go out without 4 people so he paid for 4. last week they called him and told him to change the dates as the pilot did not want to work this weekend. I emailed Zion Helicopters and got a quick response, which is always appreciated. I booked the 45 mile Zion Tour for my one year anniversary. The location of the facility was really easy to find coming from Springdale. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles. It was Victoria and Aaron (I believe) were the two working there and were very friendly. Victoria did a great job of explaining what we should expect as well as all the safety precautions. While Aaron was getting the helicopter ready to fly, Victoria explained all the pictures on the TV and pointed out certain areas on the map they had hanging. We were never left bored while we waited. During the helicopter ride, Aaron was very knowledgeable of the areas we flew around and had a lot of interesting stories. He explained why the helicopter felt the way it did in certain areas of the canyon. Though I was a little bummed we couldn't actually go into the Zion National Park area, I very much enjoyed being able to see the surrounding mesas and canyons. I would definitely recommend Zion Helicopters if you're visiting the area and want to see the canyons from above. The views were amazing! I also appreciated that the prices on their site were what we paid for when we got there. No hidden fees and everything on the site is explained. read more

Canceled my flight just 2 hours before we were set to go. Scheduled our entire day around this trip. We emailed asking for further availability and instead of responding they sent a refund. This is after they set up our flight for 6:00am even though it was for 6:30pm. Obviously double booked us. read more

The $1000, 1-hour helicopter ride around the outside of Zion Park was exceptional. The clear weather with moderate wind enhanced the experience. The pilot pointed out many landmarks with an acceptable demeanor, although his several references to emergency landings and potential flight problems should be left out of the script. Suggestions to first timers: 1. The staff did not make clear that private aircraft are not allowed within the Park boundaries. 2. Nor did the Staff make it clear only the 1-hour trip flys anywhere near the Park. read more

I had booked a trip two months in advance, with a deposit, and was really looking forward to the ride around Zion. Got a call a few days before the trip was scheduled and they told me they had no helicopter available! Not only did they cancel my reservation, they were unable to refund the deposit to my credit card, so I still had to drive out of my way to get the deposit back in cash. We were driving home to California after a fabulous week of hiking in Zion when we saw the sign to go on a helicopter tour staring at 30-something dollars per person. I was apprehensive at first but my companions who were with me wanted to go so I said "YOLO" as kids these days say and went along. IT WAS FANTASTIC! I felt perfectly safe the entire time. The pilot Aaron was friendly and informative, and we got to see the valley from an entirely new perspective. We went with the $60-per-person option for a 10 minute flight around some nearby canyons, but I definitely would have gone with the $200-something-per-person option that takes you around the main canyons of Zion had it not been too windy to fly out that far at the time. My family and I were up visiting the "rest" of the family in Zion when we decided to make it a VERY memorable gathering by chartering a few flights. I called and left a message with the Owner/Pilot first thing in the morning only to get a call late the NEXT day. I spoke with him, left my info and our desired charter "plans" and TRUSTED he would get back to me with our schedule........ NOTHING... no call or anything. Six people (3 at a time) for one hour at $265ea. would have been $2000+ I gladly would have paid for the breathtaking experience and memories. Honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The staff was gracious and so helpful, didn't make me nervous... Very accommodating. The facility is new and relaxing you can sit and look out at the helicopter comfortably. As for the helicopter ride...... I wish I had done this sooner. I was speechless... Spellbound! Our pilot didn't pull any risky maneuvers but the ride was thrilling. I felt like I was in heaven. Afterwards I told my boyfriend, that's it I'm only traveling by helicopter now! Entire operation was awesome, my truck broke down in the next town over while driving cross country, so we figured what better way to pass the time while it is getting fixed than take a ride? I am a helicopter pilot in the military and my friend that went with me is also a military pilot. Staff was very polite and awesome to talk to, the pilot was very competent and we felt safe the entire flight. Definently worth the price of admission, and worth the upgrade to the longer flights. You will not be disappointed with the sights you get to see and the local knowledge of the pilot. If I end up through there again it will definently be a stop on my list! read more

The 2 stars is due to Zion helicopters staff not alerting us to a possible weight restriction even after asking for our weights when we made reservations. I realize there are weight restrictions/needs for helicopter safety. And We've been on other helicopters and worked with other agencies and not had this experience. It would have been helpful to know that there was a weight restriction bc showing up and being denied is always embarrassing. Not a good experience at all. read more

One of the best experiences I've really ever had. It's made up for birthdays people have forgotten. Enough with my pitty party .... We booked a same day flight for 6:00PM (100 mile / 1 hr tour) and we arrived quite early as we were anxious. We found the place perfectly as they have a big black / red sign out front that announces "ZION HELICOPTERS" about 10 spaces out front. The entrance is to the right, and you enter into a clean, modern and welcoming lobby. It's definitely a top notch space to get you confident for soaring with the birds. Faith greeted us and set us up with the proper paper work only 1-2 pages to read and sign. Nothing like buying a home .. Aaron came and greeted us and introduced himself as the pilot and began to ready for the trip. Faith had a great and clear "safety briefing" that doesn't resemble the ones you'll receive on a bowing 747 and snoozing through this one is not an option! She escorted us out to the aircraft and took a quick photo and got the front seat passenger in First and then myself in the back. No helmets used here, just super nice Bose noise canceling ear phones with a small microphone so we can all communicate. It was all so clear. The ride itself was fantastic. It felt like nothing taking off and landing. You barely notice taking off / landing. It's nothing like a plane. It's better. Their was very little turbulence and it was mild compared to some thumps I've felt on my trips on big Air Bus'. The tour was an hour and I was just glued to the window - it was incredible, breathtaking and so difficult to deny God after seeing such great beauty. I was so impressed. We saw everything it seemed. I was so excited for the opportunity and I can call this one of the best experiences of my life. I would encourage people to do the 100 mile tour, because - when else will you have an opportunity to see such beauty from the air? It's totally worth it to call in and ask a few questions if you have any and get booked.. I can't see any thing to lose ... Enjoy! read more

Great Helipopter Ride! So fun I did it twice!!

We were staying in Mesquite and had a free day to travel up to Zion to scout out the area and decide which trails we would tackle the following week. We had been thinking about a helicopter ride, so decided to check out this place. We are so glad we did. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We talked to the pilot, Aaron, about which time of day and which day of the week (weather wise) would be best for taking photos. We originally decided to reserve our spots for a few days away but after leaving and rethinking our schedule, we wished we had booked a flight for that afternoon. We called and were told "no problem" and we had a reservation for later that afternoon. I was a bit nervous but shouldn't have it. It was amazing. My husband got some terrific photos. The pilot pointed out trails and points of interest for us to explore. He was professional, friendly and reassuring. We felt safe the entire 100 mile trip. It was worth every penny. We purchased a new home and our realtor gave us two tickets to take a flight with this company. Two and a half years later (we eventually get around to things) we called and made reservations. This is a first class outfit. Beginning with making the reservations, to the safety lecture and finally the flight everyone was professional and friendly. We flew by Zion's which was awesome. Our pilot Nick was fantastic pointing out land formations and other interesting things to us. The flight was beautiful over Zion's and the surrounding landscape. This is a must do experience. It was very windy the day we had scheduled and the folks at Zion helicopters called us to reschedule for the next day. It was still somewhat windy, but they altered our route at no additional cost so our helicopter ride was less bumpy but still saw many of the amazing natural wonders of the area.
