Found this cute hide away restaurant when we were here on vacation. They had live music which was fun! We were able to sit where we wanted. After a full day of flying and getting settled in our VRBO my wife and I along with the couple we are traveling with we were hungry. We had heard good things about Zippers so we made the 5 minute down the beach. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat along the edge of their patio overlooking the beach/ocean. Our server was polite and friendly and quickly took our drink order. The Mango Margaritas were tasty. Upon receiving our drinks we placed our food order and our evening was under way. We started with an order of shrimp cocktail to share which was delicious. Our dinners arrived, two of us enjoyed the fish tacos that were very tasty. My wife loved her coconut shrimp and fries, she had a very generous pile of shrimp on her plate. Our friend ordered the calamari, or that's what he thought. Based on the perfect cubes of deep fried food we are not sure it was calamari, although it tasted good. Awesome food and service for me! They serve huge portions and everything was fresh. We attempted to walk cause it didnt seem far but we went down an alley (I guess we really didnt care about life that day) and could not tell how far away the restaurant was. Okay, this little treasure was an incredible find! We were at Chileno Beach and another person told us about it. It's a 10 min drive away from that beach and once you tuck into the restaurant you will see why it's a must. It's right on the beach! Zippers is a beach bar located north of the Las Olas condo complex and right on the beach in Cabo. While waiting for my room to be ready for check in, I killed time at this bar on the beach in Cabo San Lucas. Zippers is in a nice location in relation to where I was staying. That being said, I would recommend it more so as a drinking establishment as opposed to a dining establishment. The fish tacos, while a decent portion, lacked any flavor whatsoever. The fish needed to be seasoned, if even salt and pepper. The coleslaw and pico served with it as a side were tasty, however the condiments shouldn't be the show stealer in my opinion on. The ambience is great, I mean it's right on the sand and you get a great view of the ocean, waves and surfers. That cannot be beat. A beer is around $4 US and they also have mixed drinks as well as some signature drinks. I couldn't post menu pics and they don't have any hard menu, it's a QR code that didn't open on my phone due to the fact it was somewhat worn. Overall, if you want a cool place to drink and relax watching the ocean and all it has to offer, then this is a good spot to stop, I just recommend eating elsewhere. read more

I don't mind this spot. Is it authentic? No. It is cheap? No. But, the fish was pretty dang good, it's on the beach next to the condo we were staying at making it uber convenient. Big portion of fresh fish, nice tortillas, a little bit of guac and slaw; I'm into it. About $10ish USD for three tacos. They charge you for chips and salsa. Their margs are kind of gross. Here's the thing- I'm just going to come right out and say it. The food here? Lackluster. It's bland, uninspired, and easily forgettable. You don't come to Zippers to have incredible food. It's edible, and it'll do in a pinch, but when I'm on vacation- I want more than just "okay". It's too bad because it's got one of the best locations in the area. That's what saves Zippers, location. If this operation were ANYWHERE else, it would have flopped long ago. But Zippers gets by because it has one of the best spots on the beach. There are a few beach vendors, but it's not like closer to the more touristy spots of Cabo where they constantly pass by you trying to haggle you., as you eat. For the most part, they stay in their lane, giving you the opportunity to really enjoy those beach views. Great for people watching and seeing some excellent surfing. Another thing about Zippers? Live music. Which is usually a big hit or miss, and surprisingly here it was a hit. Okay, so they haven't yet mastered food. I guess when you're a tourist trap relying on good music and good location, you don't HAVE to. But shouldn't you want to? Even so, even with the great beach location- it's just not somewhere I'd go again. Not when there are options galore in Cabo. You can do better, and you should do better. Case closed. read more

Updating my review as zithers has been apparently some significant updates. It is located on a swimmable stretch on playa Azul. Great location the chairs and tables are updated and fresh as well as solid. Food now served on plates and wooden serving trays (as opposed to plastic baskets). The food is now actually really good. The kid had a burger and it was tasty. Fresh lettuce and cooked nicely. Fries were warm and solid. The fried shrimp was actually really good and served with coleslaw that was good. Previously the food was essentially a snack shack, but now actually a good bar and grill, drinks solid. The service was reasonable and prices fair. The location is awesome. read more
