After going through the automatic wash on Ellsworth Rd., I stopped in one of the stalls to do a touch-up with their free towels (which are awesome, by the way!). I inadvertently locked myself out of my car and had no phone or purse. Jessica in the office went out of her way to help me, letting me use the office phone to call roadside assistance and then allowing me the use of her cell phone to look up a contact on the internet. Like most reviews have identified, this car wash is fast but not good. I've tried several locations and none are great. I have a membership so it is easy to go through again and again, which I frequently have to do because the one attendant on the left side of the car does not spray thoroughly enough to actually remove any dried bugs or dirt that is on the front of the vehicle or windshield. If you have dirt on the right side of your car, you can forget about it coming off. The prespray is useless. The workers simply don't care and if you ask them to pay special attention to get the bugs, they won't. They also don't spray underneath the spoiler in back. If you don't mind going through 2-3 times to actually get your car clean, this is an "alright" place to do it. They supply the towels to dry your car so you'll need to be prepared to do that too. read more

A after almost a year of ownership with very little driving, my car's interior was filthy. Glitter from Christmas decorations hauled to and fro from storage, dirt from plants I planted in the summer, sand from a trip to Lake Michigan, bits of granola from a trip to the UP this fall, sprinkles from the Culver's custard that tipped over a few months ago. I didn't drive much in the winter so I was able to ignore it. But warmer temps and leaving the house more meant I was starting to get reaaaaal freaked by the mess. I rolled up to Zippy's today with 1.50 in quarters and the hope I could at least get the worst of it cleaned with one shot on the vacuum. And what was I pleasantly surprised to find?! THE VACUUM IS NOW FREEEEEE! Hallelujah! Idk if it's the pandemic (the self serve vending machines with cleaning products have been cleaned out) or what but I'm not asking questions and I'm not complaining! So I went to town and cleaned that sucker top to bottom. 5 rounds with the machine would have set me back about nearly $10 but I didn't spend a dime. And my car is presentable again! After, I treated myself to a car wash which I might not have done if I had spent money on the vac so it was a win-win. Thanks, Zippy! The worst zippys location by far. They only have vacuums on one side and the attendants there don't even tell you which direction to turn your wheel as you enter. Additionally, it left soap scum on my vehicle which the other locations didn't. So it seems that they don't clean their machines properly. This place was great at first. After a while, it went from 2 people rinsing your car down thoroughly to one person spending about 3 seconds on the driver's side rinsing off whatever they feel like. They ignore the passenger side and just keep shoving more cars through. 1 person barely rinses your car and the other staff member looks as if they just sit around. A large, brightly-lit neon sign proclaiming "Sanitizing Every Car" promotes Zippy's Auto Wash along Zeeb Rd. just a quarter mile off the I-94 exit just west of the Arbor town. It's been open a couple of years and provides an excellent drive-through washing experience with new and reliable equipment. I really like Zippy's "Unlimited Fast Pass" which allows you to drive through as often as you want with a once a month billing cycle. I figure my break even point on the monthly charge is my 5th wash of the month. After number 5, I'm golden ...and getting my vehicle washed for free! Free use of their vacuums, instead of bringing your quarters, is another valued perk of the Unlimited Fast Pass. Zippy's associates, currently wearing COVID masks, do a great job of pre-spraying your vehicle to loosen up the mud and dirt as your vehicle is staged on the automated floor conveyor. I find Zippy Auto Wash convenient, competitive and effective at keeping my vehicle looking sharp...Four stars. read more

While it's the best (only?) deal for an unlimited car wash in Ann Arbor, the clean is mediocre at best. The passenger side of the car remains dirty (they only spray the driver side) and I usually drive through 2-3 times on the same day as there are still water spots and bugs after one. Stick with them because they're unlimited with the best locations in Ann Arbor - but with the caveat that I need to prewash before coming and each visit needs 2 run throughs of the machine. read more

It's expensive for the top of the line wash and it didn't even really clean my car. It also scares me because they just rush cars in so if there is a line a car is basically right on your bumper as soon as you enter. My car still has bird poo on it and it's not really clean. $14 for a rinse pretty much. read more

I love the car wash I get when I come here. The only reason it's not a 5-star review is that their dryers miss the back of my car and when it dries, a film is always left. Maybe have a 5 second wipe down of the trunk/back end of vehicles as they exit the wash? Either way, though, I'm still going to come here. read more

Worst experience ever. First the person waving me in provided no help in making sure I was lined up appropriately. Then, I thought I was putting my car in neutral and must have accidentally put it in reverse. I took my foot off the gas and must have not been in the track correctly because my car fell back and hit the person behind me. Ok, so mistakes happen. Honestly, if they had handled this better, I wouldn't be giving them one star. But then the person waving people in chewed me out. I went through the car wash and checked with the gentleman who's car I backed into. Thankfully both our cars were fine. When I went to talk to the supervisor, the person who waved us in came and started yelling at me again. Apparently this is the second time this has happened to the gentleman who's car I bumped into. Accidentally switching into reverse should not result in an accident. And forget about customer service. Steer clear of this place! read more

I really would love to give this place the benefit of the doubt because they used to never really do me wrong but after today I'm probably never coming back to the Zeeb location. The man working was rude, and aggressively waving me forward, putting cars so close together that the person behind me almost hit me, my car derailed halfway through the wash which was super scary and i didn't know what to do. If the employee had told me to move over a few inches I feel this wouldn't have happened, but he didn't. And when I came out of the wash there was still loads of soap on my car. I had to get out with my own towel to wipe off the soap. I didn't get a name for the employee but I came in about two minutes before making this review. I would save my time and money at this place and go somewhere else. I'm not even mad just annoyed. The quality and respect here is subpar at best read more

I want to give it a better rating, but I can't do that until the workers start power washing both sides of the vehicles. Stinks coming out with one side looking better than the other. Most times I have to go through a second or third time before it's considered a decent wash. The automatic wash doesn't even get most of the bugs/dirty off of the vehicle either. I wish I could give them a better rating, I had such high hopes. Moving from Colorado where I had the membership to wash as often as I wanted for the monthly fee I was excited to find the same here in Ann Arbor. Sadly it was not the same. Zippy is twice the price, and half the quality. My car is not as clean, even when I go through the wash twice, and the vacuum stations are poorly laid out at both the Zeeb location and the Ellsworth location. The employees work hard and are helpful but the management is horrible. It's impossible to talk with anyone from the office staff, including if you can get an email response, they won't sign their name so you have no idea who you are talking with. There is no phone number on the website, and no refunds. Not at all impressed, sadly. read more

I drove by when this place was being built and said, "Do we REALLY need another car wash? There's one around the corner. And one downtown (although it's the sketchiest place ever)." I drove by after this place was open and said, "Who the hell needs a monthly pass to get their car washed? That's just silly." I turned up my nose and scoffed, "Who CARES about colored soap?" when my exchange student's friend raved about how coo-well it was that they had rainbow-colored soap. I now visit multiple times a month (sometimes multiple times a week) with my little pass in the bottom left corner of my windshield. And the rainbow soap hasn't gotten old yet. The was by far the worst car wash I've ever purchased. Bird droppings left on the side of my car and the back was filthy. When I phoned after I was home the manager said I should have gotten out and checked my car before I left. Who does that? All he had to do was to offer to made it right another time and I would have been satisfied. Now Zippy gets a poor review and me telling everyone I know about my awful experience. So...it's a car wash, nothing special, except the COLORFUL SOAP! My two year old loves it. My husband and I love it too, who am I kidding ;). Anyway, this is the only car wash we use due to being membership holders. My complaints are that some of the staff appear lazy when prepping the car...I came out many times this winter with ice still on my car! Not sure how that's possible. There are a couple of guys there that do care. We always hope to get them! The rinse cycle needs to be longer too. We've invested in microfiber cloths that rest comfortably in a tiny plastic tote in the trunk because there's constantly soap gushing out of the door jams. The vacuums aren't great and don't last long. I go across the street to use Mainstreams vacuums. It honestly feels like they last twice as long and they are cheaper to begin with. I do like the convenience of the unlimited washes, maybe that's why I stay...I don't know. read more

The driveway in from Zeeb Road is filled with treacherous potholes that can easily pop a tire and/or dent a wheel. These have existed for at least the past two months, and they haven't even been temporarily filled with dirt or gravel. The car wash itself is OK - I have heard they clean the brushes each night, so first thing in the morning is the time to go to avoid scratching up your paint. Like every car wash, the dryers do a poor job of actually drying the car; the exterior will be streaky and covered in water spots unless you get out of the car and dry it off yourself. For $6-7, it's on the pricier side compared to the cheaper washes south of town on Packard. read more

I need to find another car wash to go wash all the soap off of my truck. Come here for the vacuums ($2.00 is plenty to vacuum my whole crew cab), and skip the "wash". Despite all the reviews I came here because it's on the way home from the store and truck was long overdue for a cleaning. Other than the vacuums, never again. Zippy is a good place to get a decent, quick wash to get all the salt & grime off your car in the winter months. A reasonable price ($6) for the basic wash & quasi-dry. Take a towel with you to get the rest of the water off of your car to make sure your windows and doors don't freeze up overnight. read more

Previous experiences with this car wash have been excellent, except for my most recent experience. As I pulled up to the monitor I found out that it only excepts $1, $5, and $10 bills; very inconvenient as I only had 20s. So I put in the $6 that I did have and I was going to put in $2 worth of quarters, come to find out although it says it takes quarters, it actually doesn't. So now I have put $6 in and can't do anything with it. There is no option to cancel transaction and get your money back, extremely frustrated at this point. The man that was behind me (I had to back out) used the $6 I had put in without saying anything to me. I went to the office seeing if there was anything I could do to get my $6 back (I know sounds ridiculous but I'm a college student). When I told him (his name was Tim) what happened he rolled his eyes at me and said "well you're the one who left it in there." I was blown away that he first rolled his eyes and then responded in such a way. Although he did offer me a free bronze wash, I declined his offer because I was appalled with the way he treated me (a 23 year old woman). I did not want to accept the free wash because I don't want anything to do with a company that hires employees that treat their customers that way. I will not be going here anymore which is very disappointing due to the close proximity to my work. read more
