If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely do not use this company if you want your pod to arrive when they tell you it will. I had a lovely experience while getting my quote and great customer service, unfortunately that's as far as their good service goes. Once you book with them expect only a terrible experience after that. When I booked with them my pod was supposed to arrive on 6/13, it never arrived and they never contacted me. I had to call them where they told me it was delayed to 6/16. It then never arrived with no update so I had to call again where they told me my pod was still in the original facility and had still not been picked up after being there since 6/2. After three more phone calls and three more delays with no update, it still has not been picked up from the original facility. My agreement says delivery within 8-10 days, and we are now going on 20 days since it was picked up from my original location. I would spend the extra money on a different company or drive a U-Haul truck to your destination before using this company. They barely offer any compensation and it is only for "miscommunication". read more

If I could give negative stars I would DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY at all! They changed my devliery several times along with my pod not coming on time. Spoke to a manager Katrina who was no help said she contacted the facility they don't know what happened but it should come tomorrow asked to speak to her supervisor she said there was no other one she is the manager. She said they can discuss compensation when the pod is delivered kind of you I have no idea when that will be. I'm a cancer patient all of my items as well as my kids items are on this pod. We have waited well over 3 weeks. I'm so disgusted! read more

This has been the worst customer experience I've ever had. I have paid thousands of dollars for moving services -- including a shipping container and movers -- to relocate my belongings from Denver, Colorado to Eugene, Oregon. The unit was loaded on January 9th in the morning, but the movers arrived unannounced, with no prior communication by phone or email. Literally woke me up knocking on my door. Since then, I have received no status updates, delivery information, or any meaningful communication from the company. When I called for information, I was told my items would arrive on Friday, January 23rd, and that I would receive a call regarding compensation for the delay. That call never came, and my container did not arrive as promised. I had to reach out again on Monday, January 26th, only to be told that my delivery might arrive on Tuesday, January 27th. As of now, I still haven't received my belongings, any updates, or communication from management to help resolve this issue. This entire experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and completely unprofessional. I feel taken advantage of by a company that seems to show no concern or accountability toward its customers. I do not recommend Zippy Shell to anyone looking for a trustworthy moving company -- they have caused immense stress and inconvenience without taking any responsibility. read more

Would give them negative stars if possible. We had people scheduled to come load the container the day after it was supposed to be delivered. The container never showed up and no one called regarding a delay. Every time we tried to call, we were either forwarded to another line and placed on terminal hold or were put on terminal hold from the start. Late afternoon the day after the container was supposed to be delivered, someone finally called to do damage control but our patience had run out and we had booked with someone else. We were also charged a month storage fee even though the container hadn't arrived or been picked up. We were able to get a full refund though. read more

All kinds of problem with our move from Clermont, FL to Corvallis, OR with Zippy Shell. Will leave out the high cost of POD even with a 15% discount and the slightly less cost of PACKRAT (when I told them about the POD estimate) who would not deliver to Corvallis even though they use the exact same warehouse as ZippyShell (their sister company). First the GOOD: Zippy Shell matched the discounted POD price, which was a bit more than PackRat. However they included a 3 hour window where the moving company that delivered the container actually unloaded it for us. They also included an extra day (4 instead of 3) for us to load the container. Now the BAD: First on Saturday morning before the scheduled Monday delivery of the container to our packing location I get an email saying the credit card was declined. I checked American Express and saw the transaction was "Pending" and the AmEx customer rep said that meant it was approved but not claimed by the recipient yet, Of course Zippy was closed over the weekend so I couldn't get ahold of them till Monday when it was supposed to be delivered. When I finally got ahold of them they totally blew off my concern and said that email just happens from time to time. Secondly instead of the 10-14 day delivery they said we would get, it took them 21 days to get it to their Salem, OR warehouse & then 7 more days to get a third party mover to get it the 19 miles to our house. TLDR: When you are paying over $4400. for a container move accept the extra $400. charge from POD and use them. read more

BEWARE: My move changed as of Sept 22, 2022. I attempted to use the link in my email to contact Zippy Shell, but link did not work yesterday or today, nor did it work initially. Thus I did Not have access to the contract, so did not know cancellation policies that states 10 days in advance. At this point it's 6 days. Charged $299 to cancel even though I could Not access contract to know policies or dates involved. Handled by Nathan, supervisor at corporate location per him. Notified sales rep Dio on day of initial contact that link did not work and did not receive a new email with link until speaking today with Nathan when he sends copy. Will not use Zippy Shell for any moves going forward. Use Pods where you can cancel even 24 hours prior without charge. read more

Whatever you do don't give your business to Zippy Shell of Central Florida. I used them and had them store a container for me unfortunately for 5 years. They charged me $7,600.00 which I paid faithfully for the 5 years. I went down to Florida from California to retrieve my goods. With the owner's permission I went through the container, took some things, threw away some things and arranged to have the remainder set aside for an estate salesman to come and pick it up so I could redeem some of my expense. I got a bill the next day for $265.00. I called Zippy Shell for 4 months to find out why I got my account charged again. I had to call from a different phone number for them to take my call, they said they threw it away and paid guys to take it away. I was on the fence between 4 and 5 stars here but ultimately decided on 4 simply due to logistical opportunities. However, I want to note that SERVICE was 5 stars and that's really what matters! What I got: one zippy shell, delivered in East Orlando, pickup next day. Stored at their facility for 3 weeks then delivered to Winter Garden and picked up empty same day. Pros: - Got to deal directly with the owner. Don't call the zippy shell sales center, they will HOUND you. Just call the local number from Google and deal with Evan. He's great! - Customer service is awesome. Evan just wants to make customers happy and likes what he does. He will go out of his way to accommodate. - You're working with and dealing with a real, local person, not someone at a call center. There's nothing that can replace the personal interaction you have with a small business owner and knowing you're supporting someone doing honest work. - Cheaper than any of the other pod companies and very fair timelines and guidelines. Saved over $100 on my move by going this route. - Don't have to worry about your stuff being stored in a field. I've heard horror stories about people getting back bug-infested pods that were stored outdoors. Zippy shells go to a climate controlled warehouse, or so they say. - Able to work with your schedule and do same day drop off/pick up at no charge. Pods wanted to charge me an extra $100 for same day, something I couldn't control because my condo didn't allow pods to be left overnight. Cons: - Stuff is not in a self-contained pod, but in a metal cage. I was a little skeptical at first because I was concerned about rodents, insects, and humidity. I had to do more work to protect my items like laying sheets on the furniture and double taping boxes just because I didn't know what kind of conditions the shell could be exposed to. - Contents of the pod shifted a LOT - I can only assume because you don't have the stability of a pod/truck attached to the frame that it's moving on but rather the pod is being towed on a trailer behind the vehicle. Luckily we didn't experience any breakage, but lots of squished, toppled over boxes and one damaged decoration that we probably could have secured better. - Almost had an issue where we weren't able to get our pod delivered to us the day we requested. We called on a Tuesday and needed it that Friday, and we thought we only needed to provide 48 hour notice. However, Evan saved the day and was able to get things shuffled around and squeezed us in. But worrying about this kind of thing sucks. - Drivers need a lot of space to back the zippy shell trail into your loading area. Left tracks in our lawn from where the trailer was, and was tough to park in our condo parking lot. read more

We have moved about 10 times. This was, by far, the easiest most hassle-free move I've ever experienced. I dealt directly with the local people (Evan). He scheduled a convenient time and estimated correctly. Movers arrived on schedule. They shrink-wrapped a lot of furniture, moved it carefully and delivered it immediately. When I asked to cancel I was transferred to customer service and a rep told me that I had canceled and they would be emailing me confirmation in several days. Due to past situations where my cancelation wasn't processed correctly I wanted an email or confirmation number to verify that this has been correctly canceled. She said she was unable to do so I asked to speak to a manager, who she said was on the phone. I then said I would wait and she hung up on me. Do not recommend. read more

It's been almost 2 months since I did my move using Zippy. I was moving from Pennsylvania to Florida. Not sure of which route to take...was I going to drive my stuff down, was I using a POD, was I using a moving company? Then finally my daughter recommended Zippy. She mentioned the real estate company she works for Long & Foster...recommends their clients to Zippy. I had been reading the horror reviews from other companies and when I read the reviews for Zippy most of them were all good. I thought wow are they really that good? I called and the price I was quoted was no more than the price it cost to rent a truck, me driving, loading and unloading myself. So I booked it! They picked up my things on the day they said 11/18/14, within the time frame they gave me. The only snafu was my things didn't ship on the day they told me it would ship. It wasn't really a major delay but I was a little annoyed about it. I arrived in Florida 11/24/14, the Monday before Thanksgiving, my things were delivered on Saturday 11/29/14. Fortunately for me I was able to get in on a special that when my things got delivered they would unload my things off of the truck. Although most of what I had was bins & boxes some of them were pretty heavy. I was really grateful for having them unload my things. The man who unloaded my things was very nice and professional. (Tips are not required but I gave him one.) Overall my experience with Zippy was pretty smooth in spite of the shipping delay. Kellye from the corporate office was pleasant & professional. I also spoke with the Rep in Tampa Wendy, she was great! Anytime I called...someone answered the phone and had an answer for all my questions. I would recommend Zippy to anyone needing a moving company and if need be I would use them again. Thank you Zippy for making this move a little less stressful! read more
