I generally don't make comments or reviews. That being said, I couldn't let this one slide...Paid almost double what I pay at other car washes. Machine didn't rinse any of the soap suds off so I asked t go back through. Was told it does that sometimes... Second time through still left soap. Decided just to go ahead and use the vacuum which didn't have any suction... Guy next me complained that the same thing happened with him... Don't recommend and I won't go back. read more

This car wash was phenomenal until the last 6 months. The washer machines need to be repaired, replaced, or serviced. Wash leaves suds on car and car is not clean! Even the vacuums are now broken. Zips, what is happening? When Shawn was there it was awesome. I have dropped my membership until things are repaired. When I dropped membership I asked for a phone call from management and no one has called. read more

Rinse cycle did not wash off the chemicals, car was dirty after going through the drive through wash and vacuum was poor. Pre-treat your self for bug removal since the wash did not touch the bugs. Tire shine was non existent. Rated 2 only because the attendants were nice and offered to clean my tires with glass cleaner after I asked for a tire wash/shine spray that was part of the $24.00 purchase. read more

Great customer service. very friendly staff. Very clean vacuum area. I go there 4 or 5 times per week and never have any issues or problems.

This place is beyond frustrating to me. You buy the membership you go through the car wash the sticker never works. You always have to wait for somebody to come out and figure out why the stickers not reading. Today's a beautiful day in the 60s not a cloud the sky, time to get the car washed after the weekend of rain and of course the entire place is closed down. They just can't seem to get their act together. I don't quite understand it. I will say the people that I've encountered there are always nice but when the equipment doesn't work, it's not a good car wash. read more

We had an awesome experience here! I believe it was about $8 for the wash and you could use their towels and sprays afterwards to clean the inside yourself as well as vacuum. We decided to stop here before our drive back to Texas for a quick clean. The staff was super nice too! We would stop by again. read more

Ever since they changed over to zips from Derek's the car washes have been bad they only care about the driver side basically you are the sponges never hardly hit the passenger side the spray for the spot dry hasn't been working the last four times I've been there also you're supposed to get wax on your car tires which I have the top monthly membership last four times haven't had my tires waxed thinking about canceling my membership I'm going to give them two more tries and if the problem still exist I will not be coming back this company has went downhill since zips has taken over read more

We signed ip for a $10 trial period of a month. We had to quickly fill out a card with our contact info while in line ,but never got a copy of this card. The employee put a date on our receipt saying we can cancel by that date & stamped a customer service phone number on it. I tried calling multiple days prior to that date with only to get a recorded message. Pretty frustrating that even though there recorded message says they open at 8am no answer from 8:00-8:40am. I had to go to the carwash and the manager called on his cell ( no company phones at the carwash). I come to find out Zips call center is out of Texas which accounts for no one answering the phone in the morning. I emailed my complaint and still I was stuck for the top of the line $50 membership and a mediocre car wash for an additional month. read more

Having had my car and truck washed many times at this location which was previously Detricks Car Wash I never ran into rude or unhelpful employees until today. I entered to pay and an attendant assisted which was helpful but he failed to mentioned that they were getting ready to shut off the vac system because of forecast rain coming. After going through the wash, which did just a mediocre job, I had just started vacuuming my car when an attendant who gave me a false name said you have 3-minutes because I'm shutting off the vac system because of predicted showers. I wouldn't have minded had I been told this before going through the wash in the first place. The attendant, Grant, as I found out was outwardly rude, unwelcoming and unfriendly and shouldn't be the person involved with dealing with customers in anyway. He told me to return the vac hose to its dock and said I could get a refund. I said OK I'd like that and he said to "call corporate". I had a couple of curse words for him for his rudeness but later apologized. Nonetheless, Grant's attitude was uncalled for to start with. As a result, I'll find another alternative to Zipp's at any location and I would recommend other potential customers heed my advice and stay away as well. read more

I guess I'm spoiled. I've been going to Dietrich car wash for years and they are the best in Myrtle Beach - period. Zips is about 80% overall of what Dietrich car wash is. (Zips bought most all of the Dietrich locations ) Zips car comes out fairly clean. The back of the car is always dirty. The car never comes out even remotely dry. It's more expensive by $4.00 a car from what I paid at the Dietrich wash. I Also have always got the tire shine application. Zips not only applies tire shine to your tires; it also sprays your chrome etc. wheels. So you have to try to wipe off all the overspray from your wheels before you drive off. I've got no choice now that they've got an unfair monopoly on car washes in my area. read more

After I went through the car wash, I stopped to do some grocery shopping and saw the poor job they did. The car was half washed. I went back, and they put it through again, reluctantly. If a business is going to try to make something good, don't be snarky about it. I had to go to an appointment and couldn't take the time to look at the car again, but when I could, I saw that the wash job was only a little bit better. It looked as if the top of the car hadn't been sprayed at all. Never again. read more

Was never told my membership will now be zips instead of detricks. Never received anything in the mail or email which is uncalled for. Now I can't access all the locations I bought my membership for. Went today and the place is closed, no notice or anything. This company should alert their members of future closings so I don't drive completely out of my way for nothing. I still have no clue which locations are zips and which are Detricks. I plan on cancelling after this month and switching to scrubbys, hopefully they have better customer service!! read more

Our car got scratched by the brushes in March, 2022. An incident report was filed with Brandon, the manager on duty. Photos taken and two estimates were submitted. One for $1025. One for $790. Claim was denied. Don't use this car wash. Small claims court filings are proceeding. read more

If you want your vehicle clean, they spare no expense! We even had two guys take sponges to the front end for bugs. Seriously one of the best places we've stopped to shine up and look great! read more

If you value not having your data shared with random other customers, including home address, cell phone number, email, etc - I'd suggest going elsewhere. When you want to cancel your account, they request copies of your bank statement if you can't go in person as you're not in the state, and when you tell them you won't give them copies of the statement, they say they can't cancel them online. When you push them, they then say they can and do, but only to find out they cancelled the account of someone 600 miles away in a different state, and send you all of that other person's information to convince you they cancelled your account. Car wash was excellent, but I don't appreciate how they handle customer data with so little care for it. *UPDATE* - And for the 3rd month in a row, they've continued charging me after twice telling me they've cancelled the billing and sent me other customer's personal information. You say to reach out to you if there's an issue - I HAVE FOR THREE MONTHS. STOP. BILLING. ME. I've opened a case with SC Dept of Consumer Affairs, and all my bank can tell me is that - since they have my debit card number, not my bank account, they can't block the transaction. The only option is to cancel my card - but my bank is 1,000 miles away up in Massachusetts where I moved here from. So now I have to get my bank to mail me a card down here and cancel my account as Zips is apparently unable to figure out how to cancel an account, which I assume my social security number, banking details, banking pin and name of my first born child. Oh, and my mother's maiden name and city I was born in, I assume they'll want that also. read more

UPDATE: After further conversation with owner and general contractor we found that there was some confusion between those parties, this created a situation where our payment was delayed, at this point we have received payment for work completed. I didn't give it 1 star because it is actually a nice car wash, but I have a problem with the staff. Before this place even opened me and my friend got kicked off the property for skating. I don't mind getting kicked out of places because It happens all the time and I understand I'm a liability, but you don't have to be so mean about it. About a month before they opened me and my friend were skating the stair set they have right in front of the entrance of the car wash itself and I guess it was the owner that pulled up but they rolled their window down and just started yelling at us. They accused us of having been there before and we never had, we just found out about the set through our friends and we went to try it out that day. That's beyond the point though. After getting yelled at for awhile we just left, that was our plan the whole time, to just leave if we get told to leave. 90% of the time if you just ask a skater to leave, they will. We aren't delinquents, we aren't hood rats, we're just some kids trying to have fun. We don't mean to cause trouble that's why if we're told to leave somewhere we leave. For Christ sake we could be sitting at home doing all sorts of drugs but we chose to go outside and get some exercise. I just don't get why people are mean to me and my friends just because we skate, we're just having fun. -LA read more

This is a very good car wash I have been a happy customer since they opened the Murrells Inlet location. However l just had my car washed this afternoon and when I got home it was such a poor job,soap and water marks, that I had to Re wash it myself. It appears to me they were having mechanical troubles as the line was held up prior to my wash. If I had the time I would have made a complaint they were very busy with a long line. I do hope they read this and make adjustments. I will go back and give them another try. read more

I had the opportunity to check out this Derek's Car Wash location wow on vacation down in Myrtle Beach. Like some people me in a girlfriend try to get the bug and road debris off of our cars as quick as we can while being on vacation. Normally this consist of me bending over in front of the car with bug and tar remover to remove any bug guts or anything on the front of the car. And while I still did this on this trip the rest of the car came out Flawless at Derek's car wash. one thing that stood apart for me at this particular location and I'm not sure if it's for all of the Derricks car washes is that they provide free microfiber rags that you can use along with glass cleaner and all purpose cleaner. That to me is a game changer LOL it's rare that you see those things provided for free at a carwash. I was impressed also with the vacuum's at this location they were very powerful and efficient. I have been to some car washes in the vacuums barely wanted to pick up anything LOL. overall I would highly recommend this Derek's Car Wash whether you're a Myrtle Beach native or if you are visiting and just want to have your car clean like we did! read more

Really annoys the crap out of me when I pay $20 to run some soap and water over my car and there's no vacuum available. Need to have someone giving free vacuum tickets when there are no vacuums available. No where to wait on one. So basically they don't care as long as they get the money for the wash. Whatever. This is the worst customer service I have ever received in any professional business. I had an accident inside Mr. Detricks car wash due to faulty equipment. Fortunately no one was hurt and minor damage to both cars. The owner, Mr Detricks repeatedly ignored my many phone calls and I was repeatedly lied to by his employees about how he was handling the incident. I was told he was always in a meeting and was told by his employers that Mr.Detricks was reviewing the video and that Mr. Detricks would get back to me. I had to call about ten times in a two week period before I was able to speak to Mr Detricks only because he picked up the phone at another car wash and was surprised to be actually speaking to me . I was told by Mr Detricks that he never reviewed the video and he was very busy and actually annoyed I cared about the accident and was told again he would call me back. It has been three days now and again no phone call back. I would just like some customer service and to find out how my car hit the car in front of me . Mr. Detricks does not care about the safety of his customers and is only caring about his own profit. Beware about using his car wash because if an accident happens you are on your own. read more

Hello, My name Dy'naria. I worked for the owner of this wash in August and let me tell you about my experience once I left and partially while I was there. This man does not like to take accountability for any of his actions and will make his employees do his dirty work. I've watched him numerous times be rude to one of his best employees who he has not even given a management position but forces him to do management things. Not only that once I requested to leave my position I literally waited a whole month and a half while this man refused to give me my check. Even when he knew I did not have a car. He claimed he sent it in the mail and it wasn't until I threatened to involve the police that he agree to write the check. The thing is I have done nothing to this grown man and I want to point out I am 18. I expect him to lead not be greedy and only concerned about his money. Not only this he talks very bad about his employees to other employees. Someone car was hit in the wash not only did he not want to pay for it but also he will not talk directly to you but will force his employees to or threaten the position they are in. He even went in the bathroom for a hour and would not let me or his other employee do car wash maintenance until he was out. It's selfish because no one wants to be at work past 2am and have to be back by 12pm the next day. I left but feel horrible for his other employees who find it hard to leave because of responsibilities and fear of not being able to get a job quick enough with the season change. This man is very selfish, inconsiderate, disrespectful, and greedy. read more

Have used Derrick for at least ten years, and have been monthly member for several years, with zero complaints. Just got a new to me GMC Canyon Denali. It had zero scratches anywhere. After a wash, when I got home I noticed scratches on my bed cover, exactly where the brush they use to brush back window with. Went back the following morning, and several times thereafter. Was finally told that video showed that they didn't do it and offered me a months free wash. Finally after 2 weeks, one of the owners calls and leaves the same message. I know the brush has side bristles also, but when wet and heavy, in my opinion, the hard plastic base scratched when they were going back and forth. They also told me that weren't responsible since the cover is an after market addition. If their wash equipment had scratched the cover, I guess it would be my fault, but it was the manual brush. I would like the owner to wet the brush and go back and forth across his hood to see if scratches occur, since they are so positive that it won't. read more
