The first time I visited Jenny's was a long time ago, pre-pandemic. I don't remember who did my hair, but she wasn't very friendly and seemed to be under an immense amount of stress. Even after making an appointment, I remember sitting in the lobby for a long time waiting to be seen. My stylist was also double booked, even though I was only getting a haircut. I remember sitting in my chair waiting for her to come back. She had to get someone else to shampoo me.... Fast forward, I booked with someone who doesn't work there any more. I remember being on the phone with the "receptionist," she wasn't very friendly and didn't have good communication skills. When I arrived to the salon, there was no one sitting behind the desk to greet me. I sat in the lobby for at least 10 minutes with no greeting. I had to walk to the back to find my stylist. My stylist was amazing and did a great job with my hair. She is the only reason I'm not giving one star. The more recent visit, it was absolute chaos with people running around everywhere, no product to shampoo with, and dirty sinks. I remember one stylist -in-training being absolutely obnoxious and unprofessional, making inappropriate statements to my stylist while I was in the chair. I have followed my stylist to a new place so I haven't been back to Jenny's in a while. I hope things can change for their sake.

Unfortunately, I could not hear the woman's name. I went to the salon today and asked to speak with a manager, and actually met with the owner (Mr. Carmen- apologies if that is not the correct spelling). He listened to my tale and asked if I could wait 10 or 15 minutes and he would have one of his stylists fix the issue. That stylist ended up being a wonderful man named Jesse Z. He was able to diagnose my issue immediately and assured me that bobs are his specialty. He was not lying. He was able to make my hair look great. But Salon Alure did not just simply have someone fix the problem. When I was checking out...they not only did not charge me for today's fix (which I expected)...they gave me a gift certificate for my next visit as well. I certainly did not ask for that, nor was I expecting it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative. I know everyone has a bad day now and then, Lord knows I have had my share. But my experience today with Salon Alure has renewed my faith and I look forward to my next appointment with Jesse. I live in Florida, but started coming to Virginia in 2015 to work with a friend making Balloon Animals for a living.
