    Canadian Poutine

Seriously delicious poutine and very friendly service! Definitely worth it considering the portion size, location, and the cheese pull!

Super good poutine and hot dogs right at the base of Whistler mtn. Line goes fairly fast, and the workers are super friendly. At the advice of one of the employees, we tried the Vegetarian style Poutine, which actually does taste a tad better than the regular poutine (his words....). The Euro style poutine was a big hit we my older boys. They also offer free grilled onions, jalapeños, and condiments on a side table. Not cheap poutine, but very excellent right after a long day of skiing/snowboarding.

Decent and affordable place for a quick bite at the Whistler village base. Got a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger and a hot dog, everything was decent but nothing to write home about. It did its job. Burger patty was kind of dry, but whatever, I enjoyed it.

After a morning doing a lot of hiking we wanted a quick snack and when in the village you have to try the poutine! It's cheap, quick and they have vegetarian options which I appreciated! We loaded ours with jalapeños and the tray was enough for 5 of us to snack on ! Tasted great and filled us up with all the salt and gooey cheese curds! A have to try when in the village !

Absolute banger of a meal, and truly the best poutine I've had so far. Poutine was made to be eaten with a hot dog. Servers are friendly and the music was all bops. Heard that their breakfast is also delicious but breakfast stops being served at 11am. Highly recommend before or after a day on the mountain.

They claimed to be the best poutine in Whistler. Walked by this stand daily as I went to/from the mountain and decided to try it. Quick service. Got the Mexican poutine which includes a jalapeño cheddar sausage on it. It was served piping hot and had good flavor. It was a great snack to have after snowboarding all day.

I was very disappointed here (August 2). I didn't get to try the dogs as I was hoping for but the service / mismanagement has left me quite upset. I showed up at 9:30 and was told they open at 10am. I was ok came back at 10 am and then was told they were not sure if they will even be open today or when open at all. So then I came back closer to 11am and then I was told they finally got their stuff together. They were finally open but unfortunately they can only do breakfast items. So I told them I am here for the dogs not their breakfast sandwich and they told me they don't know when they will have the dogs. I asked them "aren't you suppose to be open at 9:30am?". They said yes but because over the long weekend they were short staffed and have been over worked and they only have 3 people working at the moment. There are many prep work and they didn't get a chance to clean the grill for days and 2 of the three people working today at the back are the owners. So guess owners here don't do much work around. Sounds like lazy owners. They didn't anticipate the long weekend crowd. I was shocked and hangry. But B asked me "if they didn't clean the grill in days do you still want to eat there because you know it will not be tasty?" I have worked in the restaurant business when I was younger and the grill or kitchen is supposed to be cleaned at the end of the day and not left uncleaned for days. Well to be fair when I arrived at 9:30 am, the guy was cleaning the grill non stop scrubbing with as much elbow force as possible. It was kind of gross when I looked in. But the point here is that if they say they are going to be open they should be open. If they don't know if they were going to be open or not, they should have mentioned to me at the beginning and not have me show up 3 times back. I am super disappointed and I will not be back. The issue with food service industry is all about service. You can have good food but shitty service and still do poorly. The staff working should be better trained in customer service. I understand from his point. He is an employee and to him he doesn't care about bottom line. This all comes down to management. The owners should pay more and not over work his staff. His staff did say he was exhausted and was overworked. I think if management sees this they should consider hiring more staff or restructure and better train his staff and etc. Sounds like the two owners are pretty bad bosses from what his staff said. Please treat your employee better. Employee will help you grow your business. If you miss treat and overwork them, they will help you drive away businesses. I feel bad for the staff here. I don't recommend eating here

    European poutine: everything with bratwurst.
    Latifa S.

All the dogs!! And the poutine? Sure. We walked by here so many times this week to watch the epic dirt bikes on Whistler. Naturally we decided to try it. They have almost everything on the menu for such a tiny shack. Hotdogs, poutine, fish and chips, breakfast Sammich was and rolls. $5 specials! So many!!! Since I'm in Whistler, poutine was the choice. You can do the regular, the European, the Mexican! Many versions. The European one had protein aka the bratwurst so I went with it. My fries were quite soggy and cold. The gravy was luke warm and the wurst wasn't warm either. This week temperatures are quite hot in Whistler but it does cool down at night. But not that cold! The gravy was almost solid! And the curds! A ok too. Overall, I was the only one here around 8:30-9 pm. So maybe it was one off?! It would've been great if everything was hot, warm and crispy!

You cannot come to whistler without visiting Zogs. Zogs is a little kiosk located right by the gondola and in front of Showcase snowboards. It is all outdoor seating/standing, so dress warm. They serve hotdogs, hamburgers, and fries mostly. What everyone goes there for is their poutines! They have many different poutines to choose from, but their classic poutine is just fries topped with cheese curds and gravy!!!! I wish that their cheese curds melted when poured over the gravy more, but it kind of just stays. Not sure if it is because it is freezing cold outside in the winter weather or if their gravy needs to be hotter. Fries are super crispy though! Yum!! Your food comes served in a piece of foil. You can ask for a box if you are going to be taking it to go. There are condiments such as ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, bbq sauce, hot sauce, and vinegar. They also have toppings like jalapeños, pickles, and sauerkraut. It is all self serve, so the food comes to you plain. Zogs is a must try place while in whistler!

Not really the place for all, but certainly worth a good Canadian try. This is a pretty good joint to get good local eats real fast. The winner here is the Zogs dog and/or poutine. Lots of gravy, lots of curd, lots of onions. Mmmmmm.

    Mmmmm......grilled onions

Zog Dogs is an open air hot dog joint that specializes in hot dogs and poutine. They serve up food near the base of the Whistler Mountain and is a popular place to unwind. My Overall Rating - 1 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Food) Atmosphere - Being an outdoor hotdog stand, the aroma from their hot dogs and especially their grilled onions is spectacular, and was enough to draw me in. However, there is VERY limited seating, and it seems only about 50% of the seats are taken by people who are just waiting around. Unfortunately, the staff can't do much to police things, so be warned you may not get a seat. 1/2 Star. Service -You order at a window and proceed to wait for you order. The problem is, when the line queues up it becomes so unorganized. Luckily I got my order ok, but I witnessed several people getting other people's orders. Also, it's cash only, so bring Canadian dollars. If you don't, they charge about 10% more (usually add 1 dollar) for US. That's not a big deal, but their method of getting orders out can be an issue, especially if you're not assertive and someone takes your order. No Stars. Food - Their hot dogs are plump and juicy, and their fries are thick cut. However, I highly recommend you get fries with chili or gravy (poutine). Their fries are meant to hold up to the chili/poutine, so if you get them plain they will get cold quickly and dry out. The grilled onions are a great touch to a plain dog. I hot dog and an order of poutine will make anyone full. But it's not cheap, so expect a combo to be more than $10 a person. 1 Star. Will I Return? - No. The hot dogs are quality, but not worth it to fight for a table or your order when there is a big crowd. I ate here because of the smell of the onions, thinking it would be a quick and cheap meal, but it wasn't. If you like hot dogs or poutine, by all means try it out! As for me, once is more than enough. No Stars. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score

First, there's plenty of seating. You come in, get a menu, seat yourself, and when you're ready, order at the counter. They will bring your food to you. We got a table outside in the sun. We ordered the Grants Platter for Two and shared it between three hungry adults and we still had a lot of leftovers (which were super tasty later)! My favorites from this platter were the brisket (so tender and just the right amount of smokiness) and the chicken wings with dry rub (fried to crispy perfection). The ribs and pulled pork were also really good, but since I prefer my barbecue without sauce, these didn't appeal to me as much as the brisket. I also liked the fresh and tasty mixed greens salad that we got as one of our sides--very balanced and delicious. The staff are super friendly here. Our waiter checked on us several times and even the chef came out to see if we liked the food. It was a wonderful lunch. If you're looking for a great meal in Whistler, definitely check out Hunter Gather!

Not sure why the waitress insisted we sit inside where the place was maybe 30% full, but oh well. The place feels like a giant chalet, with the timber trim everywhere. They have a pizza oven, and the beer production tanks are visible over the kitchen area. There's even a toy train that does a circuit throughout the dining area (look up). One thing worth mentioning is that the bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, which may be a problem for some. Food here is Whistler pricing, so be sure to have deep pockets. I was told to try the High Mountain beef ribs, so there is now 1 less cow out there. 3 bones drenched in BBQ sauce, served on top of a pile of coleslaw and next to a pile of mashed potatoes (there is a fries option). Ribs were cooked well but the sauce was definitely on the salty side. I tried a piece of my buddy's prime rib and it's pretty solid. The portion size was definitely enough. I was stuffed. I also had a flight of their craft beer (4 glasses). As of the time of writing, they only have 8 beers available, but it was more than enough.
