The only other 1 star review I've given gave me food poisoning twice, but this place combines cold, soggy, over salted food with the worst food service attitude I've encountered in my life, and I frequent restaurants who ignore you when you can't speak the right dialect of Chinese. We ordered 4 items and waited what felt like forever for our order name to be called. We went up to the counter to ask when the lone chef, who intermittently left the open kitchen area to disappear, pointed at a stack of three boxes and said "it's cold already" with an eyeroll. Upon opening the boxes we noticed that we were short an item (and it was indeed cold- soggy fries in the poutine, scarce cheese curds melted and re-congealed) so I went back to ask the chef about it to find him gone. I waited a few minutes until he reappeared and told him we were short a hot dog, a chili dog, and he plopped a pre-cooked lukewarm dog in a bun and tried to hand it to me. When I said it was a chili dog, he legitimately snapped "you didn't say that" at me. Wow. Incredible. I don't let family members, friends, or anyone talk to me like that. On to the food. Cold, as expected. Very salty but simultaneously bland. My "Canadian poutine" tasted like a Costco hot dog on top of Costco poutine but after it had sat around for half of a cool autumn day and been salted twice, jipped of half the cheese curds, at twice the cost. Zogs Dogs is the perfect apres ski stop. It's cheap, it's quick, and it's delicious. You can get hot dogs, chips (french fries), burgers, and beaver tails. The hot dogs here are fairly standard and nothing to rave about. I tried the Zog's Dog ($6.25), which is a hefty 8"-10" hot dog topped with an interesting combination of spaghetti meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. The hot dog is boiled and has a nice snap to it, and the bread is fresh, but it's standard-fare in quality. It's what I would consider satisfying, but nothing more. My favorite is still a Chicago Dog at Portillo's. Although Quebec is home of the poutine, Zogs is one place worth checking out. The Poutine Classic ($6.25) is the status quo, fries with real cheese curds and brown gravy. What you get is a very generous serving of crispy and potatoey fries, topped with steaming hot gravy and soft cheese curds. It really hit the spot after a long day of riding. Maybe it watching the steam coming off in the cold brisk weather, maybe it was the aromas of the fries and gravy, maybe it was not eating after an entire day of riding. For all I know, my guesses lead me to believe that the gravy could be the instant made variation, but I really seemed to enjoy the saltiness and thick consistency of the gravy. Delicious! Split it among 2-3 people if you don't have a big appetite, but after having one, you'll find yourself eating the whole thing. Another added bonus is the free fixins bar which includes onions, pickles, jalapenos, sauerkraut, and an assortment of condiments. Freeloaders rejoice as you can throw as much of it on top as you want. So whether you're stopping by for lunch, apres skiing, or just looking for a quick snack, Zogs is the perfect stop. Went here a second time and the round 2 experience was terrible. I was greeted by two ski looking bums who obviously were unbathed, full out beards, and the classic winter head-wear on despite it being a super warm day out. They both looked pretty sketchy almost in a lurking kind of way hiding in the back of the small shack that is Zog's. The food came out and the guy who brought it out was friendly and then he went back in the shack with his coworker and they just hung out and were watching YouTube vids on his Iphone. Ordered a classic poutine and two hot dogs and it was almost $17.00 not including a beverage. Poutine was decent but it was made with no love or passion and it barely had any cheese on it. Hot dogs were ok but nothing too special, they were just jumbo hotdogs and had an odd taste to them. Odd being different tasting not rancid or bad as they could have been a select brand of dog (free range hotdog?) The prices were pretty steep for a hotdog at $5.00 each but they seemed run of the mill to me. This is the best place in the village for a late night snack! It is popular with the post drinking crowd. I usually head over here at around midnight or so and there are always a few others huddled around here as well. If it's snowing a lot, it can get cold since you're outside. They have a big wok with onions if you want some for your hot dog (or even your poutine). I gave them a small tip (just the change when I paid) and they were so appreciative that they gave me a lot of gravy with my poutine! No thank you. The guy that took our order was wearing a shirt full of grease and looked dingy and when he brought the card reader it had caked on grime and was dirty. I had already ordered and I rushed to wash my hands before I touched my food. That should've been a warning to not eat the food even though I had just paid for it. This place is indeed 3.5 stars. We had the Canadian Classic (i.e. regular poutine with sausage) for $8.50. The poutine was OK with the gravy being a little too thick and fries overly salty and over cooked. BUT, if you're snowboarding/skiiing and need a quick and inexpensive bite to eat that will keep you full, this place is perfect. Zogs is located right next to the Whistler Chair lift so you can't miss it. It's like a food truck that never moves LOL. Zogs is every Canadian's poutine dream. Yeah, they're famous for their hot dogs... but their poutine, now that's where it's at. I've come here on numerous occasions -- a mid-day ski break, post-ski break, after a night out, and their poutine has never once disappointed me. There's something about their fries (crispy and perfect) and their gravy (flavourful and oh so very yummy) that just go hand in hand like a happy newlywed couple. Meaning, their poutine is the bomb diggity. A personal favourite of mine is their pulled pork poutine. Even the pulled pork tastes fresh and yummy. On top of their yummy poutine (and hot dogs), their staff are so nice. Even though it's a quick interaction, they always make sure to crack an extra joke and provide really friendly service. If you're looking for a quick snack while you're in the village, a Zogs poutine will do just the trick! read more

Worst customer service ever, I've never been yelled at this much at a food stand! I asked for a Zog's poutine and they gave me a Mexican Poutine instead by mistake, and I told them. The guy behind the grill said the only difference is the sausage and so I asked him to change it. He threw out half my poutine and never gave me a new one! Update: I came back, and they now take credit cards. We got the classic and the Euro. The Euro had Bratwurst, but for the extra money, I would much rather get extra cheese curds, which is what we did with the classic. I only ever came here for beaver tails. Their hot dogs and burgers are alright, but definitely not worth the wait. Their food prep area is tiny, so there's very few staff, and if there are 3 people ahead of you, expect a 5 minute wait before getting served. Back when they served Beaver Tails, I'd recommend this place for snacks and dessert, but since they decided to abandon beaver tails altogether, I don't. read more

I ordered a hazelnut chocolate beaver tail and turned to be a piece of deep fried flat dough smeared with nutella (hopefully not some no name chocolate spread) and sprinkled unevenly with sugar powder. Nothing much can be said with Zogs. We were really hungry, and this was the place that was nearby for a quick bite. They have the advantage of grilling it outside so the smell actually helped us decide to get something from here. So, my GF ordered a hamburger. I did not order anything since I knew that she was just eating this as a snack and surely would not finished it. I did not question on what she ordered since I do not want her to turn hungry to "hangry." Anyway, a burger that we ordered just consisted of 2 breads and a grilled patty. They have a station where you can put all the ketchup, mayo, or mustard you desired. Also, they have a big wok filled with grilled onions. That really smelled nice so we also added it to our burger. For the price we paid, I think that it was a little steep for the burger that we got. The burger patty was grilled nicely, but the patty itself taste like those frozen burgers you can buy from the grocery store. The buns were okay, but nothing special to say about it. Overall, their burger was nothing special. I would not recommend it unless you really want a burger. Because of the price, we have to make it up on lots of grilled onions. I love Zogs but it is really hit and miss. I would give it 5 stars but they can never seem to keep a good wok of onions on the go. If the French sheila is working then there are always onions in the wok but, if the hairy Aussie guy is working the onions are usually scarse. For me the onions make the meal. While walking through the Whistler Village for the first time, my nose trailed the scent of Zog's like a German Shepherd in pursuit. I just had to try the jalapeno cheese dog and boy, was I glad I did!! At the little condiment stand, I topped it with sauerkraut, mayo, ketchup and hot sauce. Upon the first bite, I noticed it was perfectly grilled bc the skin had a nice pop when I bit into it. I greedily devoured it and could not wait til my next visit. ZOG'S!!! Craving a snack but not sure what to eat? The best thing to do in this situation would be to walk on over to Zog's and get an order of poutine! I know most people are wondering what the heck is poutine?! That's how I was at first when I discovered this little restaurant shack on the tv show Three Sheets but when they brought out the plate, it looked delicious. A plate of poutine consists of French fries covered with hot brown gravy and cheese curds or sauces and other toppings. There are different variations of poutine but I found the traditional gravy and cheese curds to be the best tasting. I also found the poutine with mozzarella sauce and sausage to be very good. This place offers a variety of poutines to try and I recommend if you have the time then do try ALL of them. This place also offers different barbecued items like hot dogs and cheeseburgers. And if you like grilled onions then you're in luck because this place always has a batch of onions being grilled and you take them as you please. This grilled onions are a perfect topping to an order of poutine. The rest of the food here is good but nothing special about it, but the poutine here makes up for the rest of the food! Zog's is located in the Whistler Village and is about a one minute walk from the lifts. What is great about this place is that you can eat here any time of the day. They offer something for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What I found to be the best times to come here were after a days worth of snowboarding, walking from the bottom of the lifts and getting some hot poutine fries and an ice cold beer. Also, this place makes for a perfect midnight snack walking back to the hotel room after hanging out at the bars.
