My husbands grandfather suggested this delicious diner when we visited him in Whistler. He is a "regular" here and they knew him by name/his exact order. They were very personable. I went simple with the first time we went, the french toast was delicious! I got my sausage links "butterfly" style which I did not know was a thing, they were amazing! The staff were friendly and service was very quick! There was never a wait and we sat at the stools where the chefs prepared all the food each time. It was very neat to see all of our food prepared in front of us. We went about 3 times while we stayed in Whistler and each time was better than the last! I wish I took more pictures of the other dishes but they were consumed rather quickly. We will definitely be back here if we come to Whistler again! read more

Great stop for casual brunch on our way of Whistler. Seating is limited but the wait was manageable especially for our smaller group. This little diner in the Creekside area of Whistler was packed full of hungry people! The wait at 11:15am was about 20 minutes. There wasn't much other choice nearby, which might partly explain it. But the food was delicious! My husband inhaled his Huevos Rancheros while I devoured my combo that included 2 blueberry pancakes, 2 eggs, country fries and avocado slices. It comes with bacon & sausage but I substituted avocado. The pancakes were excellent! The rest of mine was good but nothing that special. Southside Diner is a very cute spot just outside of the Whistler/Blackcomb area serving solid brunch food, including a bunch of fun eggs benedict variations. It's on the smaller side so you may need to wait to get in, but the old school diner vibes are worth waiting for. Service is a little strange but overall we had a pleasant experience here. Came here as a party of five on a Sunday at around 10am. We had to wait a bit to get in, maybe 20 minutes or so. The host was pleasant and helpful, but our server was a bit off. Maybe just more direct than we were used to, but she was brusque with us which was off-putting. Sometimes she smiled which was also off-putting because it was inconsistent. But in any case, she ultimately brought us our food quickly and made sure that those of us who can't eat gluten were taken care (I have a high sensitivity and one of my friends has celiac). Most people ordered eggs. My partner got a classic benny, another person got the veggie omelet. I ended up going with two eggs, sunny side up, with GF toast and home fries. Pretty routine, nothing special, but it was just what I was in the mood for. It comes with a choice of various breakfast meats (sausage, bacon, etc.) or avocado, and I opted for avocado, which was fun because I got to make my own avocado toast. First time eating here after reading Yelp reviews as a great place that locals frequent. Just 9 min outside the village by Creekside. Stopped by on the way home. Not to busy for a late morning, mid week. Service was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Meals were all delicious and well presented. My fav was the Bene with Montreal Smoked Meat with Mustard. I've never seen this before. It was a great combination, especially with the hand cut hash browns perfectly done. Also, the Bene Poutine was another interesting combination you don't normally see. The added cheese curds with gravy was a perfect fit. Highly recommend stopping by. I will for sure! read more

I really enjoyed this little hole in the wall. If you like milkshakes, you have to get one from here! I had the espresso milkshake, and it was to die for..sooo good! I had the blueberry pancake breakfast spread, and it was good... except for the pancakes - very white, very gummy in texture. I like my pancakes cooked, lol. The waitresses and hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very small but very fast. They play great music and will probably have a sporting event on if there's something to play. A bit overpriced for what it is. The food was okay but nothing amazing. My friend and I came Monday morning around 11:30 and the restaurant was maybe half full. Busier than I thought it'd be on a Monday morning. I started with a large glass of freshly squeezed orange juice for $6.99. It was good but wasn't as sweet as I was hoping. I was starving, so I got the Southside Slam for $19.99, which features two blueberry pancakes, bacon, sausage, 2 eggs cooked in any style, and potatoes. It was a lot of food. I couldn't finish the pancakes by the end and needed my friend's help for the last couple bites. The pancakes were probably my favorite part of the meal as they put plenty of blueberries in there. Everything else on the platter was pretty standard. They have a good selection of benedicts as well. My friend got the Veggie-licious ($16.99) that comes with tomato and avocado and really enjoyed it. Paid almost $60 for breakfast + juice/coffee for the two of us, so definitely not a cheap breakfast spot. read more

Great little diner by Creekside, right across the Huskies gas station. It's got a rather authentic feel, like something out of diners, drive ins and dives. The pancakes were great, with a crispy edge, light and fluffy. The rest of the slammer was good, nice flavored potatoes and standard other elements. We made it for the second breakfast wave around 930 and waited about 10 mins. I can imagine they'd get quite busy though and they do ask you to wait outside, which was a little chilly in 1C so be prepared for that. Mocha was quick, drip coffee wasn't great, but all in all a solid breakfast experience with great background music and a few sports on the scattered TVs throughout. read more

We stopped by here for brunch. Seating was challenging for a small restaurant. We wanted two tables close to each other. There was a limit of 6 people to a table with covid precautions. After talking to staff, they managed to make the table set up work and there was an empty table between the two tables. I ordered the clubhouse sandwich. Food arrived fairly quickly. Portion size was good for the price. There was a generous portion of home fries. My sandwich was loaded with chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato slices. It was very satisfying eating my meal. No complaints on the food. For some reason, the restaurant was not enforcing customers to use hand sanitizer upon entry into the restaurant. There was hand sanitizer located just outside the door. Also, staff did not wear face masks. I was expecting most restaurants would be taking these steps during a pandemic. Overall, everyone at my table was happy with their meal. I loved the diner in Whistler. First off, it's a cozy ambiance and set at the foot of the mountain. Second, the food portions are bear-sized. The kids entrees were huge, and delicious. My daughter loved her pancakes and we all loved our orders. Everything was fantastic. Also, do yourself a favor and order the cherry tart kombucha! Love this place! Both times I've been up to Whistler I've gone here for breakfast and it's so delicious. I've had the eggs benny and breakfast poutine twice now and my bf got the stuffed French toast which I had a bite on and was sooo delicious. The portions are big and the price is right. You'll notice the placemats have some funny jokes on them but the service has been friendly and decently paced. I'll definitely keep coming back! We had breakfast here one morning - it looked as if it would be a good place to try out their breakfast offerings! They definitely have a sense of humor here! My friend David and I were chuckling over the placemats and the rules of the diner! I enjoyed reading those! We ordered coffee and I ordered a Scramble with Chorizo - which is served with their version of breakfast potatoes. David ordered a Pulled Pork Bennie. I enjoyed my scramble - but the potatoes were almost inedible. They were way to dark. I'm not sure how they cook them - but they appeared to have been cooked in a fryer whose oil needed desperately to be changed. They had a burned look and taste to them. David said his Pulled Pork Bennie was very good. His potatoes were in the same exact condition as mine. They never should have been served. My husband and I try to go to whistler at least once a year and this has quickly become our favourite breakfast spot. Proper diner feel, humorous art, friendliest of staff, great quality (and quantity) food, good coffee and very reasonable prices. This past weekend we went up for a quick weekend stay and ate here both days for breakfast. Now that we are in Covid days, they have done a great job of physically distancing the tables. Felt very safe dining here (inside or out). You really can't go wrong with anything from their menu. Everything comes quickly, piping hot and delicious. My personal go to is the Southside Slam: eggs how you want, sausage bacon or ham (their sausage is delicious!), hash and pancakes (the pancakes by the way are perfect!!! Fluffy inside with slightly crispy edges, how do you do that every time?! ). It's a very hearty meal which is enough to fuel a full day of hiking/exploring and pulls me through until dinner. The coffee was great, the servings were more than ample and Robyn our server was sunshine. I had the Bennie with smoked salmon which was delicious. First off, the place was tiny and it was packed! Regardless of how busy they were, the staff were very friendly and service was amazing where you didn't have to wait long! We sat outside, which is along the highway, but set back enough that it wasn't too noisy. I had the caesar salad with chicken. It was really good. The lettuce was so fresh. I'd seen this place in Creekside, right by 99 more than once, but it took a very snowy Sunday AM as we checked out of our time share and a daunting ride home to convince me to stop. We arrived right in the middle of a turn, lots of tables were on their way out, we were second to be seated as nearly the entire restaurant was empty. This is a classic diner, long and skinny with a bar and mostly booths. We were greeted and served water and coffee quickly. My refill took quite a bit longer to get. Service was not quite diner fast, particularly with lots of folks being seated after us. But our food did finally come and it was perfect diner food. My omelette was nicely sized (thanks Canada for human-sized portions) with not too many home fries and two pieces of toast. I'd have preferred regular jam (rather than jam in packets from god-knows-where), but the addition of peanut butter and honey packets didn't hurt. The staff were friendly and professional, no rookie or inexperienced servers/cooks here. We enjoyed our breakfast and will return for another visit. read more
