The food also come out fast due to their limited menu options and this is a good thing. After placing our order, we picked up on the left side of the booth where there were lots of condiment options. Since there is no inside, just some standing tables outside, we took our food to a nearby picnic table at the bottom of the Fitzsimmons lift. We got the Mexican poutine and were very satisfied. It is only three dollars more than the normal poutine and comes with a full sausage, adding some great protein to the meal. That same sausage with a bun is $10 dollars. I honestly did not think I'd be reviewing a hot dog place in Whistler but as far as hot dogs places go, I'd come here again. I personally ordered the bratwurst pork sausage and was pleased that it was juicy and soft. There were toppings offered on the side but I felt they were a bit limited: ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, relish, pickles. It's hard to find a decent pork sausage and this one didn't have an overwhelming meat flavor (if that makes any sense) which was good. It was nearly $10, which is probably not something I'd spend on a naked hot dog on a given day, but nice for once in a while. Although I got the pork sausage, I think the real winner is the jalapeno + cheese smokie. It has a lot more flavor and I honestly have a little regret that I didn't get that instead lol. read more

I was very disappointed here (August 2). I didn't get to try the dogs as I was hoping for but the service / mismanagement has left me quite upset. I showed up at 9:30 and was told they open at 10am. I was ok came back at 10 am and then was told they were not sure if they will even be open today or when open at all. So then I came back closer to 11am and then I was told they finally got their stuff together. They were finally open but unfortunately they can only do breakfast items. So I told them I am here for the dogs not their breakfast sandwich and they told me they don't know when they will have the dogs. I asked them "aren't you suppose to be open at 9:30am?". They said yes but because over the long weekend they were short staffed and have been over worked and they only have 3 people working at the moment. There are many prep work and they didn't get a chance to clean the grill for days and 2 of the three people working today at the back are the owners. So guess owners here don't do much work around. Sounds like lazy owners. They didn't anticipate the long weekend crowd. I was shocked and hangry. But B asked me "if they didn't clean the grill in days do you still want to eat there because you know it will not be tasty?" I have worked in the restaurant business when I was younger and the grill or kitchen is supposed to be cleaned at the end of the day and not left uncleaned for days. Well to be fair when I arrived at 9:30 am, the guy was cleaning the grill non stop scrubbing with as much elbow force as possible. It was kind of gross when I looked in. But the point here is that if they say they are going to be open they should be open. If they don't know if they were going to be open or not, they should have mentioned to me at the beginning and not have me show up 3 times back. I am super disappointed and I will not be back. The issue with food service industry is all about service. You can have good food but shitty service and still do poorly. The staff working should be better trained in customer service. I understand from his point. He is an employee and to him he doesn't care about bottom line. This all comes down to management. The owners should pay more and not over work his staff. His staff did say he was exhausted and was overworked. I think if management sees this they should consider hiring more staff or restructure and better train his staff and etc. Sounds like the two owners are pretty bad bosses from what his staff said. Please treat your employee better. Employee will help you grow your business. If you miss treat and overwork them, they will help you drive away businesses. I feel bad for the staff here. You cannot come to whistler without visiting Zogs. Zogs is a little kiosk located right by the gondola and in front of Showcase snowboards. It is all outdoor seating/standing, so dress warm. They serve hotdogs, hamburgers, and fries mostly. What everyone goes there for is their poutines! They have many different poutines to choose from, but their classic poutine is just fries topped with cheese curds and gravy!!!! I wish that their cheese curds melted when poured over the gravy more, but it kind of just stays. Not sure if it is because it is freezing cold outside in the winter weather or if their gravy needs to be hotter. Fries are super crispy though! Yum!! Your food comes served in a piece of foil. They were located conveniently near our Executive hotel and they do a good job marketing cuz of the loud hipster music and the guys making food outside while dancing lol I ordered the fish and chips and hubs ordered the western poutine. My fish and chips were a bit burned but that's ok, they hooked me up with hella fries (so much that I couldn't finish them). Hubs had the western poutine which is poutine with chili on top and they have a giant wok out there with freshly grilled onions that he added on top of his poutine. My Overall Rating - 1 1/2 Stars (Atmosphere, Food) Atmosphere - Being an outdoor hotdog stand, the aroma from their hot dogs and especially their grilled onions is spectacular, and was enough to draw me in. However, there is VERY limited seating, and it seems only about 50% of the seats are taken by people who are just waiting around. Unfortunately, the staff can't do much to police things, so be warned you may not get a seat. 1/2 Star. Service -You order at a window and proceed to wait for you order. The problem is, when the line queues up it becomes so unorganized. Luckily I got my order ok, but I witnessed several people getting other people's orders. Also, it's cash only, so bring Canadian dollars. If you don't, they charge about 10% more (usually add 1 dollar) for US. That's not a big deal, but their method of getting orders out can be an issue, especially if you're not assertive and someone takes your order. No Stars. Food - Their hot dogs are plump and juicy, and their fries are thick cut. However, I highly recommend you get fries with chili or gravy (poutine). I just got off the slopes and wanted to grab a bite to eat. When walking around the whistler villages, I noticed that this place always has a long line! I knew that sometime during my vacation that I would need to give this place a try. Upon ordering, you have plenty of time to decide what you want. I had two dogs - one was the spicy Jalapeño dog on a bun with mustard, the other was the Canadian dog served on a pile of Poutine with cheese curds and gravy! Zog's also has a giant wok filled with nothing but grilled onion for your taking. We actually went back to refill on this. Go big or go home! Plenty of condiments located on the side of this little shack. Seats and tables are limited so you may find yourself standing and eating or walking elsewhere to find a place to sit down. Few friends would not shut up about how good the poutine is at the village, especially after a day of boarding, so we decided to listen to them for once and stopped by Zogs. We decided to go for a classic poutine, as well as the meatsauce poutine. It was pretty amazing looking once we got it, because steam was just coming off the meatsauce and the gravy! The cold chilly air sure made it more dramatic looking haha. Definitely a fan of the meatsauce poutine. The sauce is thick, hearty, and meaty, and the shredded mozzarella is a nice touch! The fries here are pretty thick so it stood up the the sauce fairly well. As for the classic poutine, it's just a solid poutine, with cheese curds that comes in those packets. Since it was snowing that day, our poutine cooled down way fast and the it was not as pleasant eating the gravy so be sure to eat it fast. They have caramelized onion in a huge wok on the side so definitely grab some of that to add a little variety to the poutine! In fact, we added it to both haha. There's also Beavertails here. Overpriced, but we couldn't resist the fried goodness and got the cinnamon sugar and the chocolate hazelnut. While I'm a huge fan of anything that tastes like Nutella, a squeeze of lemon on the cinnamon sugar makes for a perfect Beavertail.
