Win or lose on the field, we always win at the bar!

Zog reminds me of recess. After long days at work, finally I get to go outside and play! A friend told me about ZogSports. I was hesitant because I've never played any organized sports, am not in great shape, and know only general football rules. I signed up for Touch Football as "extremely casual." Perfect fit! I found that other players were inclusive and there to have fun. The referees and staff (thanks Caitlin & Matt) are patient and helpful. I tried a different LA social sports league one season and was disappointed that it wasn't as friendly or organized. Zog is an important part of my week now. I look forward to happy hour, joking with friends, and burning off the tension of busy days. I currently play on 3 Zog football teams. It's a stress release. I joke that, "Zog is my therapy."

If you want to play for fun and you are not overly competitive this is the league for you. As for myself I have played competitive softball pretty much all my life not to mention i have played in college too so I find the level of competiveness a little on the weak side. I have met some cool people and they do give some money to charity so that's a good thing. Not sure how much goes to them but at least they donate. I think that's their motto, playing for a cause since their league fees are super expensive. There a few things I dislike about the league. One is that they claim that we have a sponsor but never get anything from the sponsor. So how is that sponsorship? Not sure about that one. I would usually not say anything about it but they put the sponsor on the shirts that WE pay for. Shouldn't we decide if we want the sponsor logo on our shirts or not? What happens if we don't like the sponsor ? haha anyway... Second thing I dislike is that some of the umpires are new never had experience umping a game. They train them which is fine but are not completely aware of the rules. This causes a lot of conflicts between teams of who is right an who is wrong. Lastly, this is a 'for profit' organization so the fees are pretty high compared to other leagues. This league only has seven games plus playoffs. If you don't mind paying that then give it a GO. Hope this helps...

The ZogSports games are organized, well referee'd, and fun. It's a great assortment of people; and an all around good time.

After college, and entering the working world, it felt like it was even harder to connect with others. That is why I was so pleased to have found CrashSpace. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming. I truly felt like I could be myself and be accepted. CrashSpace has a lot of tools and machines to work on your various projects. But more importantly, CrashSpace is a COMMUNITY of people from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and experiences. I think the biggest asset has been the knowledge base that the whole community has and shares with each other. CrashSpace is volunteer run and you can tell that really passionate people invest their heart and soul into keeping this organization alive and thriving. CrashSpace is very active with regularly occurring weekly events, monthly meet-ups, and hands-on workshops. It seems like there is always something fun going on at CrashSpace. If you're an artist, maker, DIYer, designer, techie, programmer, cosplayer, tinkerer, engineer, educator, STEAM fan, I think you'll really like CrashSpace.

There was no clear leadership response or removal. Separately, I was invited by a member to an off‑site party connected to this community. After that event, I experienced sudden disorientation and memory loss inconsistent with my alcohol intake. I went to the hospital, was evaluated for head trauma (none found), and the attending physician concluded I was most likely drugged (e.g., roofied). What was most alarming was the response afterward. Rather than concern or accountability, multiple people connected to this group aggressively pushed a narrative that I "just got too drunk" or "hit my head," even after being informed of the medical evaluation stating otherwise. The takeaway was clear: when something serious happens, this community protects itself -- not women who are harmed. There is insufficient leadership, security, or safety protocol to protect members, especially femmes. If your personal safety matters to you at all, I would strongly recommend steering clear.

I've joined other academies in the past but the way Alexis breaks things down is special. She's pure talent. You can feel that dance is an extension of her and not just something she does for work. I don't know how to explain it but I guess if you know you know. I danced with a bigger school way back and all I remember is feeling pressured to improve. The director was so obsessed with pushing us to do performance teams when I couldn't even use their moves in socials! It's all fun until they keep pushing you to spend more on their irrelevant programs. Anyway.... With Alexis, while she also challenges me, I don't feel forced at all. She's just incredible. I also love that I'm less conscious about myself now. Even my friends tell me I talk with confidence too. I move on a whole different level, on and off the dance floor. I will say the wait staff upstairs in the lounge were the complete opposite of the restaurant. They didn't even say "thank you" or "have a good night" after you paid and tipped which was a bit off-putting. Its a member only club but I would assume staff is encouraged basic etiquette and friendliness. Overall a great experience. Removed a star because I think customer service should be consistent throughout the establishment, especially if you are paying that much money.
