Just an FYI Zolman Tire on Edison St. In Mishawaka is a ripoff. I took the kids car up a few months ago for a bad air sensor and my van last month for a thermostat replacement. Both time we had it tested at auto zone and had the print out with the codes and what was wrong with them. Zolman's charged us $130 each time to retest the codes to be sure that was what was wrong. Today I had the check engine light come on and had auto zone test it and was told I had a bad oil pressure switch. I went to Zolman's and told them I just wanted to buy the part and have it put on. They refused to do it without testing again. I told them i wasn't paying $130 for them to just to tell me what I already knew. Again i had the print out with what part I needed and the computer codes. They refused to touch the van unless I paid them $130 to do their own test. It's a scam. They use the exact same code reader that auto zone uses. You plug it in let it read the computer and then plug it into your pc to get the readouts. Takes less than 5 minutes but they want to charge you $130 to do that. I've never seen a mechanic that refuses to just put a part on if you specifically ask for the part by name and tell them not to do a computer check 1st. It's just an upcharge to get them more money. Took it to another garage and they were happy to fix it and not charge to retest something that didn't need retesting. So shop around if you don't want to waste an extra $130 for something any auto zone will do for free. read more

My dad is 83 years old. I took his car to the shop because that is where he always took it. I knew it needed quite a bit of work. After getting a quote back that was going to reach in excess of $4000, I took the car to another mechanic. I did not tell them how much we were quoted or what we were quoted on. All the work was done with all new parts, for $2015. I am sad that this still happens. Shame on you, Zolman's! read more

I took my two vehicles in for an average oil change. Everything seemed fine, but when I went for my next oil change at a different place, they could get the oil filter off on one because it was placed in there too tightly and it couldn't be changed. The other vehicle had a screw too tight on the skid plate which made my next oil change longer and more complicated. Would not recommend Zolmans read more

I came here after visiting another Mishawaka auto care place earlier on the same day. It will be my last time there. I went in because the tire pressure light had come on suddenly. I needed an oil change and tire rotation anyway, so I figured I'd get all of that taken care of instead of airing up the tires myself. When I drove away, the tire light was still on. On inspection, it was because of a nail stuck in the tire that they somehow missed even after doing the tire rotation. This was not the first time they'd done something careless: the last two times I went there they've made other less serious mistakes, such as charging me for a light bulb that they didn't actually replace, and then replacing that light bulb on another visit with oily hands, which made it burn out a week later. I went to Zolman's after it was recommended by a friend. I had to drive to Chicago that day for Holy Thursday Mass. There was only one service tech working, but not only did they take care of me right away so that I would make the Mass, they also patched the tire for free. Happy Easter, Zolman's. And thank you. I had a bad experience at the Niles location (see review) and wouldn't have gone here other than I used to work up the road on Home St. I had a flat tire pulling into work two winters ago and stopped there to get a new tire. One of my coworkers picked me up on his way in. After work, I called over to see if they could come pick me up (our company gets all of their Semi tires done there) since we do so much business there. Sounds good. Twenty minutes later and no one to pick me up, I walked down there angry. It was a five minute walk so how long could it have taken to come get me? I walked in and stood there for about four minutes while five employees were behind the counter talking with each other. No "hello", no "How can we help you?" I had to interrupt them to get their attention. Needless to say, awful service. How this company that rips off the innocent women that come (see other review) in gets voted best of Michiana I don't know. Maybe because they spend so much in the South Bend Tribune advertising and it's "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" kinda deal. I have told people in person about this but since I moved to Arizona I felt compelled to write about my experience. read more

They will give you a price. Do the job. Then will tell you they have the best mechanics when they messed up the job and you had 3 different mechanics tell you they messed up the job. They will sell you cheap tires and tell you they are the best ever and then won't warranty them if you pay for the insurance. Avoid Mckinley at least. They are liars and scam artists. The old guy is the worst and probably trains the rest of them to be like him. read more

After picking up my fiances car yesterday evening after we both had very long days at work we were in disbelief when in came to the shape that his vehicle was in ! We took it in with only one problem which they fixed however within minutes of driving it we had to start making a list of new issues that it did not have when we took it in! This is after approximately 3 or 4 days of being told it would be done the next day followed by excuse after excuse why it had to be delayed until the next day. When picking up the car my mother in law was told to drive it around and to "reset" the shift lock that now has to be manually pushed to shift to each gear followed by a hard jolt after shifting ! We will never return to this location and will be sure that none of our family or friends to either ! The mechanics clearly have no idea what they are doing and are willing to release a vehicle that isn't safe to drive as it also has no pick up when trying to accelerate now not that you would know how fast your going because the speedometer is also now not working putting its customers at risk ! Absolute HORRIBLE service if you care at all about your car do not take it here they will DESTROY it and tell you to drive around to fix it !! read more

This place should be renamed "bait and switch." I received a quote for work for $386 and then they called me and said the bill would be almost twice as much. The reason? Once I got into it I realized they were trying to sell me additional work that didn't need to be done. I stopped everything and got my car back.
