LOVE Zolo coffee Roasters. Fantastic coffee beans and they have such a great selection. I typically buy the Mamazolo which has a beautiful nutty, chocolate taste. If they don't have the Mamazolo I'll get the Little Dog which I believe is almost the same thing. We get our beans from the Walnut Creek Farmers Market stand. The two baristas there are just the sweetest. They make great drinks, are knowledgeable about the coffee they are selling and overall just happy, friendly people. Price per bag is pretty standard for a higher end coffee bean and you're guaranteed fresh coffee. Thank you for adding such a lovely caffeine experience to my weekly Farmers Market run! read more

I'm not one to usually write reviews, but I am a little sad to see how much the prices have increased. I look forward to getting coffee from Zolo every week at the farmers market, but yesterday I ordered an iced seasonal latte and it was $8! $8 for milk and 1 espresso shot is ridiculous. I don't mind paying for quality, but in the last 2 months it's gone from $6.50 for a seasonal to $8. I love supporting small businesses, but I don't think I can anymore for that price. read more

Why hello there, new favorite latte! Why haven't we run into each other sooner? Tried Zolos' oat milk latte at the Walnut Creek farmers market and it was heaven. Their coffee is dark and toasty without any bitterness from over roasting. I prefer oat milk in general, but the extra creaminess complimented their dark roast perfectly. It might not be YOLO coffee, but Zolo coffee is pretty damn good. I discovered this coffee at the Marin Civic Center Farmer's Market on Sunday morning. I was in dire need of a caffeine boost, and only a strong espresso would do. That's when I saw the long line for the Zolo coffee stand. At first, I was wondering if the long line was because the coffee was so damn good, or because there weren't any other caffeine options in the area. Personally, I think it's a bit of both. The beans they're brewing with are pretty damn bold & flavorful. The young baristas working the stand were friendly, fast & efficient. I walked away with my Espresso Macchiato in less than 3 minutes for roughly 3 bucks. It was a generous double-shot with just the perfect dollop of creamy milk on top. Needless to say, Zolo rejuvenated me right away, and made the rest of my Farmer's Market shopping more enjoyable. Will definitely come back for more caffeine goodness! read more

Great family run business with incredible potential! I was more than impressed with their quality of coffee AND customer service! They genuinely care about their customers well-being and always seem to be the hit of the farmers market. Not to mention the brothers' charm and good looks! Their excellent coffee is definitely what separates them from most, however. From the pour overs to the espresso, everything is made carefully and with beautifully roasted beans. They have expert knowledge of the market and really know how to roast beans to bring out the ultimate flavors. I am always eager to see what new beans they have discovered and masterfully roasted each week. Their take-home bagged beans have become the only coffee I brew at home now as well. I've become a frequent visitor of their stand at the farmers market in Danville and am expecting them to expand into the coffee realm of San Francisco very soon. My husband and I just had the worst experience at your Marin Civic Center farmer's market stand this morning. We ordered and paid for a hot chocolate and a macchiato from the young man working the register then waited for our order. Two men, one younger and one older, were making the espresso drinks. It seemed like the older man was training the younger man and it was taking longer than usual to prepare the drinks. The older man also seemed to be very frustrated with the younger man. After a bit the hot chocolate was ready but was not immediately followed by the macchiato. We continued to wait as other drinks were prepared. Finally a macchiato was ready but it ended up being for someone else who had ordered after us. At this time we inquired about our macchiato. The older man at the espresso machine questioned if we had paid for it and we said we had. We continued to wait assuming that our macchiato would be next but it became clear that he had no intention of making it. Finally, frustrated and tired of waiting in the cold, we decided to cancel the order and ask for our money back for the macchiato. The young man at the register apologized and started to give us our money when the older man at the espresso machine began to argue with us to the point of being extremely rude and combative. We took our money and left as soon as possible. We've never been to one of your coffee stands before. I would like to think that this was not a normal experience but needless to say so we have no intention of returning. read more

Dave and his family are incredibly passionate about their coffee and do a wonderful job brewing some of the most best cup of coffees you probably will ever have. Their hospitality makes you feel welcomed. Their coffee wakes you up... And keeps you up :) I am so happy to have been honored to meet this incredible family and taste such fresh coffee. This coffee stand at the Alameda antique fair far exceeded all expectations. In fact, the coffee was better than at most trendy cafes. Instead of being run by hipsters, it appeared to be a multi-generational family business type thing. I purchased a Rwanda pour-over drip coffee (carefully prepared using ceramic Hario V-60 paper filter cone). They use their own beans. It was delicious - smooth, flavorful, rich, tastefully medium-roasted. We also purchased a made to order iced decaf coffee which was the best iced decaf I've ever tasted. All this was done within an outdoor mobile food stand by a cheerful, humorous staff. Reasonable prices for quality bay area coffee. Next time I will purchase a bag of their beans. I originally gave them 5 stars. I'm reducing it to three because it's become such a struggle to get the beans freshly roasted. Their philosophy is that beans should be at least a week old before using, so it's very difficult to get beans that aren't a week old (or older). I disagree with that philosophy--I like them fresher. Given the way subscriptions work and the fact that they don't often ship freshly roasted beans means that I either have to throw away the beans in the grinder or let them sit on my counter for a few days, so the beans end up 10 days old (at least) before I use them. I prefer them to be a couple days old. They roast on Tuesdays. I'd be happy for them to ship on Wed morning with fresh beans. I can see absolutely no way to make that happen with any degree of reliability. I've called. I've left notes. Nothing seems to stick. read more

We've walked past their tent at the Danville farmers' market more times than I can count and finally decided to grab something this week. Though, we should have just walked on by like every other time before. I was in the mood for a good hot chocolate since there was a chill in the air. So we ordered one for me and one for my kids to share. I have never had a worse hot chocolate. The flavor was horrible and lacked any resemblance to chocolate. Swiss Miss makes a better hot chocolate. After a couple of sips, I stopped drinking because it was a waste of calories. So I can't comment on their coffee, but avoid the hot chocolate at all costs. We have been really lucky at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon to be able to enjoy Zolo Coffee every day of the week! I was able to meet with Dave who is as kind as he is knowledgable about coffee and tea. I have now had the luck to have a delicious vanilla latte, a smooth Smith's Roobios tea, and a decadent hot chocolate. I am impressed with the service and care that goes into each drink and the willingness that Dave, and his team, go into providing coffee knowledge, fun facts, silly jokes, and smiles. This is somewhere I will definitely continue to return to and would highly recommend to anyone who works in or around Bishop Ranch or is lucky enough to see them at the Farmer's Market. Found them at the Alameda Point Antiques Faire this past weekend. The menu is basic, with hot chocolate and different coffee drinks. I've got to say, my favourite thing about Zolo was the tip jars. Just put some change (or bills, they're worth a larger tip) in one of the jars and get either a random fact or cheesy joke in return! They actually had a table and some stools out front by the window of the tent, like a little coffee bar! The guy making the drinks chatted with us while he made our drinks, and he was super nice. My mocha latte was adorable, with the little heart in the cream on top. There were four of us who ordered four different things and all were delicious! I heard that the hot chocolate wasn't overly sweet like some other places, that the "fast" coffee tasted like it took much longer to make, and I must say the mocha was delicious. Not too sweet and not too bitter, just how I like it! My mom was ordering an iced latte, but the lady there suggested a New Orleans blend (I believe) that was brewed overnight over ice and wasn't as watery....and right she was! It was not watered down coffee like a lot of other places. Overall, I don't have anything less than wonderful things to say! read more

We fell in love with this coffee first in the form of a cup of fresh brewed hot coffee or cold brewed iced coffee. They now serve Italian style espresso and espresso drinks. We soon staring getting our just roasted whole beans at the Farmers Market for our coffee during the week. We also understand they also do coffee for events and catering when not at the market. INCREDIBLE Coffee! I discovered Zolo at the Marin County Farmers Market, their New Orleans Iced Coffee is absolutely the best. I'm addicted and now make my own cold brew at home using their Farmhouse Dark Roast beans (SOOOO EASY & DELICIOUS).
