We had a great time at the zoom been here almost 8 years and this was my 1st time here yet alone any zoo so i was extremely excited to come an bring my daughter and in laws . We came spring break weekend so you know it was crowded but not to an extent where you could not move just crowded. They had discounts on tickets via EBT and other memberships programs, but still a little pricy thank goddess for the discount. Outside food allowed no feeding animals . Food is also sold via two food trucks a small vendor areas . I still recommend bring your own snacks and drinks. Gift shops available kids will go crazy. The experience was a 6/10 only because i didn't expect the crowd and because most of the animals you had to really look for them they were not to entertaining more hiding or tired. They had a jungle gym that had a rock climbing for the kids. They had a train, They had a pet feeding zone, They had a Ferris wheel. All fee you will pay extra but at-least the playground was free i saw about two in the park. Be prepared for your feet to hurt for 2 days honey lots of walking good cardio .

Zoo Atlanta is an educational, entertaining, and exciting place to visit when in Atlanta. The facility is well-designed with large pathways for crowds, scooter and strollers. The exhibits allow guests to be close to the animals. There are engaging guides stationed throughout the zoo to give information to visitors. Visitors are able to experience a great time with the general admission ticket, but there are several options for an additional cost. Parking is a bit of a problem on busy days. There is a main lot, an auxiliary lot and some street parking. Our family visited using the Atlanta City Pass. If you are planning on doing more that one Atlanta attraction, the City Pass is worth it!

Always a favorite place to visit. Lots of shade and seating throughout. Habitats are well maintained with a wide variety of animals.

If you have the city pass this would probably be number 3 on my list of places to visit behind the world of Coca-cola and Atlanta aquarium. Parking was not included but it was quite cheap for the day only a couple dollars. The food and drinks within the zoo not good as expected so I would suggest eating before visiting. My favorite exhibits were feeding the giraffes and the elephants!

Zoo Atlanta is a small zoo but at a premium price. There's a good variety of animals but many exhibits seemed to be renovating or empty. Staffers were very helpful and friendly, and the place was interesting. My only substantial gripe is the aggressively high ticket pricing. At this price point I expect a much better experience. Many exhibits and food outlets seemed closed during the visit. The overall impression was that the zoo could be better managed. There's a variable demand ticket pricing structure. On a weekday mid-afternoon with the place nearly empty, ticket was $33. Bronx Zoo, which is much larger and better run, is $23

Lovely zoo experience. The animals look healthy and cared for. The highlights were being right next to the gorillas in the glass and watching the lemurs. The "could've been betters" - it's a small zoo. It takes about an hour and a half and then you're done. The reptile area was lackluster. We couldn't find a lot of the animals in their habitats, plus it gets crowded in those rooms.

Zoo Atlanta was a pretty small zoo, but it had most of the animals you would expect to see. We went during the winter, and several animals were not visible. Also, almost all of the food options were closed. We finally found one right by the entrance that was open. We enjoyed ourselves, but overall, it was just ok.

Liked the Zoo but the parking by the hour is a rip. They should have free parking or an affordable flat rate.

A group of us came for educators day. On this day, educators received free entry and discounted tickets for their family members. I haven't been to the zoo in a few years but everything seemed to look that same as before. It was busy but not overly crowded. The staff was kind and available throughout our visit.

One of the best zoos I've ever been to. The employees are top-notch. KJ at the challenge course went out of his way to make my eight-year-old grandson comfortable in a very tense situation while making this Poppy laugh.

I'm a sucker for visiting zoos when I visit city and Atlanta is no exception. I love how interactive the zoo is. There are zoo keepers at a lot of the exhibits to answer any questions and giraffe feedings. They also have a lot of animals that are not as common in other zoos such as red pandas and actual panda bears. I highly recommend the Atlanta zoo to any zoo enthusiast

Be prepared to pay for hourly parking. The kiosk near the entrance was not working, so I had to download the app. We had a City Pass, but the attendant wouldn't swipe the screen, so we had to hold up our phone for scanning - it was a bit of a hassle. The exhibits were cool, though not all had animals present. Many animals seemed to be staying inside due to the chilly weather, but we did get to see the gorillas, rhinos, elephants, and giraffes up close. The restrooms were clean, and we managed to see most of the park in about two hours. It was a bit disappointing as they were hosting a field trip; it would have been more enjoyable without the large group of elementary students.

We always have such a great time at Zoo Atlanta! We visit at least once a year (and run the through the zoo 5k yearly). The whole place is super visitor-friendly with lots of shady spots, indoor exhibits to cool off, and tons of animals to check out. I loved how the signs didn't just tell you about the animals but also shared cool facts about the challenges they face and how the staff cares for them -- it really made the experience feel special. Parking was a breeze, getting inside was quick, and it was awesome to see healthy food options like vegan brats and protein salads around the park. The layout is easy to navigate, the exhibits are beautiful, and there's a good mix of activities if you want to get even closer to some of the animals. Definitely one of the best zoo experiences I've had -- highly recommend if you're in Atlanta!

Ask the Community - Zoo Atlanta

What time do the gates open to the parking lot?

How much it is to get in

How long does it take to view the entire zoo?

I think it really depends on how quickly you want to do it. I've gone through "everything" with two kids in about 2 hours. That said, you could also take 4 or 5 hours if you want to go slowly and spend more time at each exhibit.

Do they serve beer and wine at any of the food stands?

Thanks for asking Angela. At the time of your question we did not offer beer. However, we do now have beer in a couple of our food outlets. Be sure to come by soon.

How long is the wild encounters ? What are the times? Can you choose to only feed the Pandas?

The time for each Wild Encounter differs. Yes you can choose to only do the Pandas. That would be $160. Feel free to check out the website.

Do you have anything for the handicap to used to get around?

Yes, we have wheelchairs and electric scooters. You can rent them at the gift shop. The wheel chair is $12.00 and the electric scooter is $28.00.

Can you go out to your car and get you lunch and then re-enter the zoo?

Yes you can re-enter the zoo. There is a stamp machine before you exit. Be sure not to forget to stamp your hand.

I was fortunate to find a code so admission was free but I had pay to feed the animals which was reasonably priced. However with little ones we ran through those tokens so fast because they were overly excited once they realized they could feed the fish ducks and goat. The goats are where most of our time was spent lol. You can pay $20 or 10 tokens to hold animals in different locations. There's a gift shop in the back which I was thankful it was tucked away and not having to walk through it while leaving so tantrums were avoided. Like other reviews yes it's fairly warm but I just figured it's to keep the animals comfortable and I dealt with it, it didn't make or break my experience just bring some water with you. Also yes the smell as soon as you walk in punches you in your nose but you go nose blind after awhile. Every staff member from the front desk to those walking around has awesome customer service interacting with My kids and I and explaining what they were doing with the animals. The smell coming from the farm animals really just hits you right in the face when you enter. I wore a cardigan over a tank top and was sweating. There's so many people and very little air conditioning. Yikes. You can smell everyone's body odor. I purchased my tickets online and received my wrist bands. We also bought 15 tokens for about $32 so my kids can interact with the animals. It's cheaper to buy from the token machines inside. Save your money, don't get tokens at all. The amount of animal feed you get is very little. I'm talking about 1 tsp size. Like 2 pebbles for the farm animals, but I understand why they do this. The animals are getting feed all day long. Our first stop was to feed the catfishes. When I say there is a lot of people. There was A LOT of people. I feel like the SeaQuest was really understaffed. Parents were allowing their kids to run around in the turtle inclosure. There was no staff in sight. Poor thing was getting chased by kids. Same thing for the iguana. The only animal interaction my kids enjoyed was the parakeets. It was 1 token per person and you spend about 2-5 mins inside. I would not come back and do not recommend.
