This business, although once reliable, is currently one to be avoided. I am a monthly paying…read more"member" whereby I am supposed to receive timely service and a discount. Scheduled a service in June for a tub, needed to order a part, now Oct. still haven't followed through & tub still not working. Came to fix a shower control in Aug. & again in Sept & two different plumbers put back together wrong. Still waiting for a part & to have shower controls correctly working. Multiple calls with no call backs, no communication, phone line problems, no shows with appointments that I took off work for. Beware of this business!

My thermostat broke. I assumed the heat wasn't turning on because the screen of my old thermostat…read morewas turning on and off. I had a Google Nest that I installed in its place but it wasn't communicating with my heater. I called Belmar Plumbing because I knew the thermostat was hooked up properly. Figured it was above my pay grade. Matt Baldwin - the owner -came out, told me that the Nest Thermostats are terrible and he's replaced 3 already in his own home. I said I need to get the heat on, so what do you suggest?" He gave me an estimate of $551 to install a new thermostat (one that I learned later costs $150 from Ferguson's). I assumed the price of $551 was high because it was a really great thermostat... (the Nest he said was terrible was a $300 thermostat) my mistake was not asking the cost of the thermostat. I removed the old one from the wall while he went and fetched the new thermostat. He returned and all Matt had to do was screw two screws into predrilled holes in the wall and connect two wires which took him a total of 5 minutes. While doing this five minutes worth of work, he said "business is so slow". (I haven't had a contractor tell me that business was slow, well, ever. This should have been a red flag.) After the five minute install, my heater would not turn on. He went downstairs and "diagnosed" the problem in less than 10 minutes- said I needed a flue damper on my boiler which would cost an additional $875. I said "I'm sorry- I just can't pay that." I then started thinking that we'd been totally ripped off on the thermostat he just installed in five minutes, so I asked him "Do you have an hourly rate- and what is the cost of the thermostat you installed?" He said "that's about $200" and I replied "ok, so you charge $351 to screw two screws into the wall?" And to which he replied "You'd have to ask my wife- she makes up all the prices." Exact words. His face got bright red. I kindly wrote him a check for the agreed upon $551 and showed him the way out. I realized after he left that he didn't leave the new thermostat box or instructions. I know that most of this stuff is online, but the thing also comes with a warranty and I had no paperwork for it. The reviews for the thermostat he installed are 1 star!!! I contacted Belmar Plumbing three times asking them to drop off the paperwork/box from the thermostat- I have texts to prove it, and they did not reply, nor did they drop it off. I purchased that thermostat! Who installs a new product in a home and doesn't leave the packaging/user manual??? Next day I was lucky to get an appointment with my usual plumber. They installed a new flue damper, an expansion tank, and shut off valve which was 5 hours worth of work for $686 (parts and labor)... Matt Baldwin's wife wanted $189 more than that to fix only one of those components. I have contacted the BBB.

Nobody likes walking into a downstairs bathroom and finding a floor covered in dry sewage, and I'm…read moreno different. If only a simple snaking would suffice, but nope! This case called for 40 ft of new pipe under my basement floor. Mr. Rooter was great - Phil walked me through the estimate and gave me all the paperwork I needed to get my insurance paperwork started. Admittedly the project had a hiccup, but, Phil worked with me and got to a resolution that I am more than happy with. The tech that did the job is Vinnie; this guy is a machine. Twice he worked well into the night to make sure that I could use all the facilities in the house. He used floor mats, drop cloths, and sheeting to contain the mess, and cleaned up when he was done. By the time he finished the every drain in the house was running like the house had just been built. Ask for these two guys!

DO NOT Use. Horrible experience. I had a leak coming from the ceiling in my kitchen. Service worker…read morecame in and misdiagnosed the problem. He did not use the leak detector even when asked to. He made 3 holes in the ceiling for no reason. He said it was the washer machine when in fact it was the water heater. I was charged almost $900 for nothing. I woke up the next morning to the second floor covered with water. They came back and that's when they were like oops it wasn't the washer it was the water heater. Called the company to try and get some money back. Never heard from them. Out of almost $900 and that is not including what I have to pay to close up all of the holes in the ceiling. I should have read the reviews first but I was dealing with my mom who had just had a stroke. Shame on these people. I hope they go out of business. Terrible! **********If you use them make sure you read what you are signing. They just put an IPAD in front of you to take your signature. *********
