We've been taking our 1 year old boxer mix to Zoom Room Mission Bay for several months (5 stars) so we were so excited to have a new Zoom Room near our house. We had been to 7-8 obedience and advanced obedience classes and just started the Agility program. Our puppy loved it and was getting high marks for his performance and his quick learning. A couple nights ago we were the only ones to sign up for Agility so it was a seemingly perfect scenario (like a private class). We (our puppy and my wife and I and the excellent instructor) were have a great session when towards the end of the class, the person from the front desk wandered into the training session and stood up against the wall. This caught my puppy off guard and to every's surprise he growled at her a couple of times but didn't touch her. We finished the session and he was awarded two achievement awards for his performance. Today we found out from the manager (who wasn't there the other night) that we have been dismissed from Zoom Room and will not be allowed back due to his seemingly reactive behavior. To those involved in this incident, we truly apologize if anyone felt unsafe or victimized. We had looked to Zoom Room Clairemont to help up train our puppy and as well behaved and non-reactive as possible. This was something we expressed every single time was our biggest hurdle and we worked on during classes. We are disappointed that we will not be allowed to return at all. Thank you to the competent trainers there that had been working with Mochi. I question the quality of your program when one person is giving Mochi praise, accolades, and awards while another person is canceling and banning him from the facility. read more

I had always thought about trying agility and was excited when I saw this facility opening up just down the road from me. I have been bringing my pup to the agility classes at this location since they first opened, and it has been so heartwarming to see his transformation in just a few months. He was so nervous & distracted his first class that I wasn't sure that he was enjoying himself, but after a few sessions he really started gaining confidence! He is a little rockstar now and loves going to class and zooming around all the obstacles and it's a great way to stimulate/exercise him. I've also noticed that our bond has grown stronger, he is more aware of my body movements, and he is generally more obedient to my commands. The facility is great and all the equipment is brand new. Everything is super clean and well maintained. The class sizes are small & only 1 dog enters the "obstacle course" gated area at a time to minimize distractions. The trainers are lovely and kind and do a great job of not just working with your dog, but training you to train your pup! read more

I enjoy going to this location for training with my small Pom - he loves to get snacks here and has done well with everyone. Each trainer has been great and cognizant of different needs for each dog. If there is a more reactive dog, the trainers try to help them be set up for success by teaching the owner, providing alternative ways to complete the task, etc. The classes can vary in size - sometimes 2 dogs to 6 dogs. Regardless, they do their best to reinforce helpful behaviors and things to look out for with dog body language. My pup Watson started coming here as a puppy for puppy preschool, then went through puppy training+ and obedience and is now in advanced obedience. Through every class Watson has loved coming to zoom room. He has learned so much and training together makes our bond closer. The staff is so kind and individualizes things for each dog. Our last class, the wonderful trainer Jane collected sticks and leaves from outside to use as distractions for class because she remembered that eating sticks and leaves is Watson's weakness and the thing we are working on the most. Watson has learned good manners from zoom room and he is always excited to come to class. Now we need to start training him to get in the car after class, he never wants to leave because he has so much fun! read more

We love Zoom Room! We've taken classes with 4 trainers (Mallory, Courtney, Sophia, and Peyton) and have learned so much! I have felt safe, supported, and cheered on through out all my time at the gym! My dog Harlow and I have built confidence, strengthened our bond, learned new skills, and have felt challenged at a comfortable level where we are able to learn and succeed. This place is amazing and the people that run it are the absolute best :) We decided to try to Zoom Room, as we wanted to get our pup involved in basic obedience and agility.
