Unfortunately, the current Zoom Room ownership is atrocious and I would strongly suggest finding another place to train your dog. I had been going to Zoom Room for over 2 years and had experienced some different trainers, some of whom were good, some bad. Finally, there was some consistency with an excellent trainer, Cari, and so I purchased an annual membership. Over the past year I had worked with Cari, who was fantastic. She had an amazing talent for knowing what you and your dog could handle and needed and she prioritized safety and the overall experience. Unfortunately, Cari left recently, and I have to imagine the owner had something to do with it, as clearly this location is horrendously mismanaged. There was a period of time where there were no classes available, and we were never told why. Then randomly they announced "new management" and brought in a trainer who had been shadowing Cari for just a few weeks as the new Manager and solo trainer. I had briefly worked with this trainer and I was not very impressed with his training skills. I did not feel like I would be making progress with my dog any more at this location, so I contacted the owner Diego asking for a partial refund. He talked disrespectfully about his previous employees, ranted about me not giving people a try, and raised his voice, berating me about "what if you signed up for a membership at a yoga studio and your favorite instructor left" among other things. During this rant he also shared that the trainers they get are untrained and uncertified and they go through some basic training before coming on board which does NOT inspire confidence in the future of this location. I have NEVER been spoken to in such a disrespectful, aggressive way as a customer. This franchise is clearly not well run. While they might find gems of trainers like Cari from time to time, you might also get stuck with untrained people.. or possibly even NO instructors. As another review mentions, consistency in trainer is absolutely critical to progress with your dog, and while I understand there is some employee turnover expected over time, this location has experienced too much turnover to be acceptable. I truly did love my experience with Zoom Room while Cari was there but now I highly recommend you save your money. It's not worth spending that much money to potentially have to keep working with different, random, possibly untrained employees and be talked down to by the franchise owner who really needs to hone his business and customer service skills. read more

I chose Zoom Room because they advertise a sanitized environment suitable for puppies who aren't fully vaccinated. Before enrolling, I asked if I could attend one session to see if it was a good fit, especially since I was concerned my puppy might experience car sickness. I was told I had to purchase a package. Although it was $499, I enrolled because I'm committed to training my dog as early as possible. On our first day, we were informed that because only three puppies were present, the full 50-minute session (which I had already paid for) could not be conducted due to "corporate rules," and class was reduced to 30 minutes. That was disappointing, but I chose to give it a chance. Unfortunately, my puppy did get car sick on the drive despite not eating beforehand. After the 40-mile round trip, it became clear she cannot tolerate the commute. Given that reality, I contacted Zoom Room a few days later to withdraw and request a refund. I was again told "corporate rules" prohibit refunds. The suggestion was to suspend my account and resume later if my puppy outgrows the car sickness. However, I need training now, while she is young and manageable -- not months from now when she's much larger. This wasn't a case of changing my mind or being dissatisfied with the trainer or facility. It was simply an inability to physically use the service. I was disappointed that there was no flexibility for extenuating circumstances. If you're considering enrolling, I strongly recommend reading the refund policy carefully before committing. read more

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I had mentioned from the beginning that I needed weekend trainings and after I paid they were not able to give me a weekend for 5 weeks so they had my money but I had no training for the first 5 weeks after signing up. I had 3 different trainers during the I believe 8 week session. The lady we had when our main guy was sick had no idea what the issue is with our dog, didn't even know her name. They had not prepared her at all. The sessions are only 30 min. long so would be nice if we could start with training as soon as we get in versus explaining what is wrong. Also my lab only improved by maybe 35 percent. He is dog aggressive on walks and I was told that's easy to fix. Lastly, I asked for a call back regarding a question I had. I have been bringing my dog to Zoom Room for both obedience and agility training. She is doing very well in her classes. I am preparing her to take exams to become a therapy dog. The Good: My dog enjoys coming to her classes - especially since she gets treats! I think she and I have learned a lot and her manners have definitely improved. I like the way they use positive reinforcement. The Bad: I want to start by saying the trainers at Zoom Room have all been really great but...there must be an issue (or two) since I only awarded 3 stars on this review. Here goes: 1) The facility is undergoing staffing and managerial changes with the departure of a couple of employees. Hey - I get it...that's life. In that same vein, the clients have a life too. I am fortunate to have a very flexible job and can usually accommodate these changes. 2) There is a very scant availability of the classes my dog needs to be enrolled in. 3) Things have been really turbulent with the myriads of changes that have occurred. Classes are being shuffled around, private lessons are being cancelled at the last minute. 4) I am also aware that there is a software glitch that is not allowing clients to schedule classes online. Some of the information that appeared on the screen was inaccurate; for example, indicating that there were 2 spots available for a class when, indeed, there were none, and the waitlist was full. Not my problem, they need to do something to make it right. I found the experience to be very frustrating. Because of that, my dog was not able to be scheduled this week. Hmmm...I seem to have heard that consistency is crucial for dog training... 5) When I purchased my initial membership packet this past October, it was to include private lessons. They seem next to impossible to schedule; as a result (I am now on my second membership) none of the private lessons have been used. 6) The parking lot is horrible!!! 7) I gave a glowing recommendation for Zoom Room to a friend of mine, who wanted to train her dog. My friend scheduled a lesson and was excited to start. When the day arrived, my friend received a call from Zoom Room - at the last minute - cancelling the session and was told she would get a call back to reschedule. Several days have passed and she has not received a call back. This not only puts "egg on the face" of Zoom Room, but makes me look bad as well for so highly recommending the facility. Conclusion: I know that there is a learning curve when a company undergoes these types of changes. That said, I hope to see better customer service. Ignoring clients does not benefit any company and, in fact, sets it up for failure. Dog training is a financial commitment and clients want to ensure that their monies were not wasted because classes are not available, It would be helpful to offer some early evening classes to attract customers who may not be able to attend during the day. Also, if a class is constantly full, perhaps offering alternative sessions of that class would be helpful and lead to less client disappointment. When there was a consistent trainer, we would move very quickly from one command to another rather than spending the time mastering the command. I have been taking my young Boston Terrier "Reggie" to Zoom Room about 6 weeks for obedience training and I could not be happier with Reggie's progress. He loves it too. Reading some of the negative reviews here which is unfortunate. I have had a 5 star experience with this location from bringing my reactive dog to the group Scent Classes for 7 lessons so far. It's been an excellent experience with both trainers who are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, caring, and conscious of keeping our dogs safe (restricted from nose to nose meeting and maintaining a good distance). My dog has learned the skill I brought him there for and has even had the side effect of being less reactive with other dogs by simply being in a group environment. The training and method is gradually altered to match the dog/s progress and the trainers skillfully manage multiple dogs at different skill levels. The dogs have such a great time utilizing their noses to communicate to the handlers, highly recommended class to enrich your dogs life! Future customers, please manage your expectations. In a group class I expect not having the the entire 50mins dedicated to my dog or my needs, and due to the popularity of dog training in general I expect classes to be filled and difficult schedule. We have been bring our pup here since he was old enough as a puppy. He is now a year and a half and in advanced obedience as well as intermediate agility. He loves going to training and is able to get some energy out at agility. We have also used Zoom Room for private training which helped him with his dog reaction when he was younger, separation anxiety and advancing his agility. On the website it said .We utilize only positive dog training methods, which your entire family can easily master and embrace. We have foster kids that are minorities, from the start they let other kids participate and would not let our foster kids minorities participate, or they would let them sit on a chair but not participate. I have reached out to the manager, and she said she won't talk to us, I asked for the owner to call me back, he refused. I asked for a refund for the unused portion of our payment. Our kids feel unwelcome and they let our kids know they are not welcome. I feel if we did not have minority children it would have had a different outcome. I know the agreement says no refund, but the website says your entire family can easily master. My kids asked why the other kids can participate but our kids can't, all I can think of is they were not minorities or foster kids. Today I reached out to the manager and she said she closed my account because I asked for a refund, she did not give us a refund not did I ask for my account to be closed, she took it upon herself to close my account. 0 star. The zoom room has a set up to take money up front and then make it difficult to schedule classes so that you can't even use what you already paid for in advance. I paid for classes, could not use the scheduler to book them because it was constantly down. Had to call to book ( they frequently don't answer the phone) only to find out that the wait list is super long and classes are booked so that you can't even get into the class. It is designed this way on purpose so that they can look busy but really just don't schedule enough classes, very few available. They also limit the time frame you have to use the classes, so you can't miss any or you won't be able to schedule them. They don't let you book that far out either. I was traveling and didn't attend four classes and because of that, they removed me from subsequent scheduled classes that I had already paid for...because of their "wait list". They can book double for the same slot. It's a scam. Don't fall for it. The classes are with several other dogs present and you constantly have to be aware of other aggressive dogs. They take a break in the middle of class so that the short time you paid for is taken up with dogs who need to take a break. Ridiculous. read more

Zoom Room has been absolutely wonderful in so many ways. First is just the sheer number and types of classes they offer, and how easy it is to just sign up for classes that work best with your schedule. I was initially attracted to Zoom Room because of the "Shy Dog" classes they offered to help build confidence for my little rescue Chihuahua mix, Lulu, who is very shy/nervous around most people and other dogs. But soon I started enrolling Lulu in their other classes too -- Obedience, Scent Work, and we're hoping to get her into the Canine Good Citizen training one day too (once she's got a bit more obedience + socialization work under her belt!). I love that they offer playgroups too -- this is exactly what Lulu has needed: moderated/guided playtime so she gets used to playing with other small dogs (and hopefully big dogs one day!). Second is just the incredible attention and care that the staff here gives to all the dogs. From the very first meet-and-greet consultation, Jamie and the staff have listened to my concerns, goals, and wishes for Lulu, and have done everything they can to make Lulu feel welcome and well-adjusted to her classes. They genuinely care for all the clients and their pups. Lulu used to shake a lot (out of nervousness) when first coming here, but now she is calm and happy coming to Zoom Room!!
