The training content and methods are logical and effective (especially if you put in extra time outside of the classes). One of the most beneficial aspects is taking the class with other dogs, people, and distractions nearby. The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgable. We just had our first puppy preschool today for our 3-month old, it was a bit overwhelming for our puppy but we can't wait to take him back again. The facility was specifically treated for under vaccinated puppies for these classes Saturday and Sunday mornings. Limited number of puppies to make sure there is social distancing during learning time and spacious room filled with wide range of surfaces for puppies to experience. Multiple experienced coaches are on hand during the unleashed time to avoid potential issues. We have also heard good things about agility training for older dogs. I have had wonderful experiences with Zoom Room! We started with puppy classes, then graduated to obedience and advanced obedience. I am looking forward to trying agility and tricks classes soon. I wish I had a better review to write of my experience at the Torrance Zoom Room. The experience I had in my initial call with the Owner Sarah was pleasant. My experience with the "Head Trainer" Allison was anything but. After my $25 initial evaluation, I signed up for a package of 1:1 and group classes. My first 1:1 class was a disaster to say the least. What was meant to be a positive and educational experience turned into an encounter that left me feeling demeaned, disrespected, and dismissed--not just as a paying customer, but as a human being. After spending 30 minutes during the 6/1 evaluation session walking Allison through my prior experience with dog training, boarding, and sitting with my dog Gumbo--I purchased a training package based on the belief that their facility would provide expert, respectful, and professional instruction. Unfortunately, this was not the case. During our first training session, Allison subjected me to repeated condescending remarks, dismissive behavior, and unnecessary personal insults - including - Refusing to demonstrate exercises when I asked for clarity, responding instead with: "This is your dog!" When I finally voiced my concerns and requested to speak to someone about possibly switching trainers, Allison reacted by casting herself as the victim and accused me of "being mean." Rather than take my concerns seriously, she abruptly ended the conversation by saying, "I'll just give you a refund," and walked to the door to show me out. This experience was not just unprofessional--it was personally degrading. I am struggling to understand what motivated Sarah to speak and act toward me with such contempt. The only conclusion I am left with is that her behavior may have been influenced by bias. As a woman of color, I cannot ignore the possibility that this mistreatment was rooted in something deeper than professional disagreement. When I reached out to the Owner she immediately issued the refund and responded to my email. I hope that Allison the "Lead Trainer" undergoes some training herself. We signed up for one class as we have a tiny 4lb Maltese and most of the dogs in class seem to be 4 x the size of her. We arrived early and introduced her to the trainer and tried with other dogs as they arrived. The size difference was obvious and they don't seem to have toy dogs in class. They do have a metal divider which you can use initially to keep the dogs apart so they can meet nose to nose first. Then you go into the main room for puppy playtime. It was a bit overwhelming for our pup, she was bowled over and terrified and we ended up having to extricate her from the strenuous puppy play going on. We also had to keep her away from a pit bull that looked older than the 16 weeks limit for the class as he was pushing other dogs over and rough housing. After class a dog owner and pup came over and kindly gave us some one on one time on leash which went well with both dogs puppy bowing and playing. If you have a larger pup this will be beneficial, however I wouldn't recommend it for toy dogs. Easy parking outside, classes are bought individually or in packs like a gym and they give you a hard sell. read more

Teddy and I just came back from their one year anniversary event and it was a blast! We have been members of ZoomRoom Torrance since their grand opening, so this review is long overdue! The facility itself is immaculate, exuding an inviting and friendly atmosphere. Sarah and her team of trainers and staff at ZoomRoom are unparalleled in their expertise, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs. They made me feel like a valued guest, taking the time to understand my furry friend's needs and tailoring their services accordingly. The training sessions were nothing short of amazing. The trainers at ZoomRoom possess a wealth of knowledge and displayed remarkable patience and skill while working with my dog. They utilized positive reinforcement techniques, making the learning process enjoyable for both me and my four-legged companion. I was astonished by the progress my dog made in such a short period. We progressed from Puppy class, towards Obedience, and now Agility training. Another reviewer mentioned classes could be large at times causing less time for your dog to go through the Agility course, but that's understandable due to growing membership. However just because you're waiting for your turn does not mean you cannot use the opportunity to learn. I use the time by watching other owners and their dogs go through the course and listening what the trainers are saying to help each owner/dog go through the course. Basically, I'm still being attentive of the instructions and tips the trainer is giving to the owner who is doing the course during the time because it can help me when it is my turn. I actually prefer NOT to be the first one to start class and maybe be the 3rd because I get to digest the instructions before it is my turn. So just because you're waiting for your turn does not mean it's not a learning opportunity for you. Moreover, the variety of classes offered by ZoomRoom is truly impressive. Whether you're looking for obedience training, agility, or even tricks classes, they have it all. The flexibility in scheduling allowed me to find the perfect class for my busy lifestyle. Sarah, the owner, always has her members in mind and is always adapting to the needs of her members, whether it is adding more classes or adding to the schedule for evenings etc. she is all about adapting to the needs of her members. One aspect that stood out was the attention to safety and cleanliness. ZoomRoom maintains the highest standards of hygiene, ensuring a safe environment for both dogs and humans. I appreciated the sanitization protocols they followed diligently. Teddy is the class "roomba" because he is treat oriented and he would sniff for leftover treats that other owners left behind in class, but the trainers understand Teddy's uniqueness and will try to make class easier for Teddy and I by cleaning up prior to our class session if they know that we were coming. When they told me of their efforts, that's how I know they care of my experience at ZoomRoom. To top it all off, the sense of community at ZoomRoom is heartwarming. The fellow dog owners I met during classes were friendly and supportive, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere. It was wonderful to connect with like-minded individuals and share our experiences. In summary, I cannot recommend ZoomRoom highly enough. We scheduled an orientation appointment and took time out of our busy schedules to leave our pup at home and go to this pre-scheduled orientation. We were excited, got there on time, and was acknowledged at first, but was told that another person (Lauren) will be taking care of us, whom was at the time busy assisting another customer. That's cool, we walked around the facility, not a huge place and not much happening in there. We even watched the entire 30-mins 1-on-1 training session go by and the owner even left, and we were STILL WAITING. No one would really wait that long with an appointment, they are not even veterinarians. Luckily, we were able to work on our phone as we continued to wait patiently. Sadly, we just couldn't wait any longer than 40 mins, and had been listening in the conversation happening between Lauren and her customers, which sounded like she was taking her time with them and had no urgency to get us started any time soon. As we began to walk towards the front door was when the other front desk lady noticed us, which was sad, because we had been in there for 40 mins at this point! Front desk lady acknowledged us finally but asked if we are here for an orientation, we said yes and we came in 40 mins ago and was asked to for wait for Lauren. Guess what she had to say, "Oh, it's funny, because I am not seeing the appointment on the calendar!" Her reaction sounded blasé. During the 40 mins we were literally waiting behind her shoulder, and seen her starring at the computer all that time, looking at the calendar and even a break in between to look at her phone and chat with her other trainer (male) colleague. And still, somehow we were invisible for anyone to acknowledge us, aside from the short cool cut hair girl that greeted us when we walked in. We decided to just leave because we had better things to do than waiting around and not being taken care of. They then called us, and left us a voicemail asking us to basically come back so we can get signed up with them. Wait a minute, sign up? We didn't even have an orientation and evaluation with our pup, talking about signing up already? That just sounds like they are money hungry. Customer service is key to any businesses in retaining anyone even when they are not paying money (yet), this is especially applicable to a training facility like this one. We are certainly not going back to this location and will be looking elsewhere. Watch out for your wallet, observe before you give out your hard earned money. read more

My dog Chica goes to zoom room in Torrance and she loves this place. This place is super awesome has a great staff, shout out to Lauren, and is just an overall amazing experience here. The training is second to none, we have seen an amazing difference in my dog since coming here. Along with the training they also host play groups and my dog is addicted to the play groups they are super fun and all the dogs have a blast. Not only do they let the dogs play but they also have like 2 to 4 trainees in there during play group to make sure all dogs remain safe which I definitely appreciate. Canine good citizen! Adrianna is a fantastic, compassionate, intuitive, and highly ethical trainer. She's a professional I'm comfortable paying a premium for. She has a calm, confident energy that dogs gravitate towards, and she reads them like a book. On the human side, she also does a fantastic job of listening to the handler and answering questions, and tailoring the homework to your specific situation. I had taken a CGC class prior to covid, but we failed the test because my dog had trouble with separation, so I signed up with a few private sessions with Adrianna with a goal to get CGC evaluated. Supervised separation is something I can't exactly train by myself, and I figured that a couple lessons with someone with a good eye would be sufficient. She's a great handler, with a high aptitude in reading the dog's comfort levels and is skilled at keeping them under threshold to make the sessions efficient. She's great at building on successes and knows just when to push and pull back when she's working with dogs. Her homework was also very efficient, and it really helped. I asked a lot of questions specific to my situation, and she gave us detailed advice on how to make the most helpful use of the session. For example, my dog gets anxious when he can see me walk away for a while, so she suggested that I round different corners to practice easy mode separation, and move on from there. She also coached me on how to coach others in how to reward my dog. After a couple of good sessions of making a ton of progress, I was pretty confident in taking the test. I was surprised when Adrianna asked if we wanted to be evaluated after working with my dog for a bit, without me initiating the conversation. I liked that she was prompted by interacting with my dog, which showed me just how good she is. She's obviously very knowledgeable about the test, and went the extra mile in being very considerate and flexible so that we could maximize our chances of success, like completing the more difficult requirements first. Franchises can vary greatly from location to location, so I initially admittedly did have my reservations, but I am confident recommending Adrianna to anyone. read more

Nice staff... but with six dogs and just one trainer per training session, your dog gets about 8-10 minutes of agility training over an "hour-long" course. The rest of the time the dog has to sit patiently on a 2'x2' platform doing nothing. The concept is really cool, and if they found a way to train 2-3 dogs at once on the agility course it'd be great. But as it stands, the biggest thing your dog learns now is how to be patient on a small platform while waiting for the five other dogs :/. read more

We have been enrolled at Torrance Zoom Room since they opened in mid-June ('22) and my little fam is so happy with the results and the support we get from the staff and students. Currently, we're 15 classes in and have taken a mix of Obedience 1, Obedience 2, Agility 1, Agility 2, and a private gym session. What I love about this facility: * Clean and tidy, lots of water (for dogs & humans) several doors of entry to the training area * They always come from a supportive place; They have clear rules and approaches that set them apart from other training, but - based on some observations of their private training - they're optimistic and honest about whether they're the right place for your dog * Their shop has ample items, treats, toys with new products cycled in pretty frequently * The staff is so amicable and helpful; they make you feel like they've known you forever * Super easy to enroll into classes, get confirmation, call/email if we must cancel * There's always parking! We brought our 1 y/o dog in because we needed the training and wanted something consistent, sequential, and challenging (mentally and physically) for her. The best deal was the 20-class package which was approx. $430 at their promotional time. Took a little thinking whether we wanted to pay that much upfront, but we're super glad we did. We're getting what we want out of it and MORE... it's bonding for my dog & me and honestly bonding for us (mom and dad) dog owners when we go together! My dog loves going to Zoom Room Redondo Beach. He knows when it's time for school and he rushes into his travel carrier and clearly ready to go! My wild one has been steadily learning to be a good student and good citizen amongst his well-behaved classmates. They're just like little elementary children. LOL So stinkin' cute. Based on what I've seen online, the Zoom Room seems like a pretty cool place to take your dog. As someone who works as a dog walker in the area, I've even mentioned it to my clients. So of course now that I've adopted a dog of my own, I was looking forward to taking him there for training. Knowing that they were closing on February 20th to move to another building, I figured I would schedule an evaluation at the current location and be able to start training at their new location. Our evaluation was on the 15th and staff member who helped us was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. When we were done, I was ready to schedule my dog's training but sadly, this is when I found out that their new location would not be opening until April! It was suggested that we schedule something at the Culver City location but unfortunately, at the time of day that we're able to go, traffic in that direction is terrible and I'm just not up for it. I guess it's my fault for assuming that the new Torrance location would open right away, but the more I think about it, it just seems like a pretty shady business practice to continue on boarding new clients without being able to serve them in a timely manner. Being that their next closest location is not that close by, letting people who are coming in as new clients know about the delay in reopening would be the right thing to do, up front, before any payment is taken. read more

After a hike, I quickly realized my pup, Cashew, enjoyed jumping between rocks & making his way through the trail with obstacles. I sought out a place I could take him that would challenge him both mentally & physically & found Zoom Room! We love our trainers at Zoom Room-- Especially Maz! They have all the obstacles you see at the AKC Agility competitions (a-frame, tunnel, tire, etc) & they personally help you on the floor if your pup is a little more hesitant with certain obstacles. While it definitely challenges Cashew, it challenges me as well to keep up and how to properly communicate with him on the next step. Our puppy, Pinto, just finished one month of unlimited group classes for $150. We definitely made the most out of it with 14 classes so it came out to be less than $11 a class. The only class we were able to take first was Obedience 1: Basic Manners. Robin and Jennifer were the two trainers at Zoom Room and they are both great. Jennifer's Obedience 1 class focuses more at the basics before adding a second element like distractions. Pinto was able to "graduate" out of Obedince 1 after seven classes in a span of 19 days. That was with a lot of practice outside of class. Pinto was almost 6 months old when we started. After completed Obedience 1, you're open to take Obedience 2 and Agility 1. Agility is fun and interactive for both Pinto and I. He learned how to jump through a tire and over a bar, through tunnels, and walk different obstacles. Out of all the classes we attended there was only one Obedience 2 class with six dogs. Most classes only had 4 or less. One class was even one-on-one with the trainer since no one else showed up! Pups need mental exercise also and the classes help tire out Pinto. The shop inside has a lot of supplies and treats but they are a little on the expensive side. If you're looking to train your puppy I'd definitely recommend the unlimited group classes. read more

Despite having 3 months of puppy training, we noticed Josie still needed more training, physical activity and socialization. Zoom Room was closed for a while and we were closely following when they would open. They finally did and we started with 4 private sessions to make sure Josie is ready for group class since she is very excitable when other dogs are around. She's half golden retriever so she just wants to play nonstop. Josie graduated and we moved on to Agility training which I, myself, really enjoy doing with her. The staff are so, so friendly and accommodating. Josie hates the car but other than daycare and grandma, school (Zoom Room) is the only other place she will run to the garage and wait to get in the car. We look forward to continuing Agility classes and maybe get to the point of joining the Agility games. read more

We currently have our dog Rambo (rottweiler) attending classes here. We love how attentive the trainers are to our dog during sessions. They make sure they teach us the owners how to do commands and communicate with our dog effectively. They make training fun for our dog. Rambo started out in their puppy session and is currently in obedience 1. We will continue to have Rambo attend as many classes as he may need to continue his growth to become a great dog. This place is awesome! We rescued Maisel on Christmas. We noticed she loved running and jumping and was very smart but she was also very scared around other dogs. I passed the shopping center on my way to the freeway every day and knew about it so I brought Maisel in for an evaluation to see if private classes or group classes would be best. It was decided that group classes were definitely the better option. Adrianna was awesome for our privates. She worked with Maisel and gave me pointers to help her feel more comfortable with the goal of getting her into a group class. We were even lucky enough to have Kirsten help out a couple times. This worked out extremely well because when we rolled into Obedience 1 she worked with us to make sure Maisel stayed comfortable and .... we just graduated!!! While I started off thinking this would be great for agility we are definitely sticking with obedience 2 just for comfort around other dogs but we are so excited to continue the journey! Not the place if you are looking for professional, experienced trainers! We followed the instructions and attended an orientation, which was not an orientation at all but an opportunity to be sold a package. Per the recommendation, we came back for an evaluation. My dog barked during one of the evaluations in which I was asked to have him wait for a treat (he waited well and beyond the requirement, but because he was "demand barking", they determined he needed remedial training. We came to the Obedience One class only to be dismissed because of his barking. Upon our leaving, we were asked if he always demand barks. He doesn't! Which is further indicative of why the Zoom Room was not the place for us! What a waste of time and a huge amount of stress! We have used a legitimate positive reinforcement trainer in the past and will return to her! If you want to go socialize and learn, the Zoom Room may work for you. However, I do not recommend them based upon my experience with much better, positive experiences with highly professional, knowledgeable trainers elsewhere. This is a "chain" facility that does not have the expertise required to provide the dog owner/dog the environment to learn as advertised. read more

My dog and I BOTH love this Zoom Room! I have been on their email list for years but had never actually made it in to take my pup until recently. It was his birthday and they offered us 3 free 30 min private play sessions (no trainer but full access). I took the week off from work (because the catch was that it's during the week only) and took him 3x that week. WOW he loved it. From the moment I took his collar off he was prancing around the room. They left out the agility equipment and made all the toys accessible the entire time. There was coffee for me as well as water for the both of us the entire time. When my ElliGirl was 4 months old she began formal obedience classes somewhere else. She did group calsses as well as at home privates. She learned some basics, but the style of training wasn't well suited for her. There was alot of leash pulling and "no's" involved. She wasn't very happy and neither was I. After some trial and error I realized that I was the one who needed to be trained. Fortunately we found Zoom Room. She went to Zoom Room HB and also this location. We both prefer Zoom Room RB, so that's where she did most of her training. Elli is now 13 months old. She is very smart and loving with a her own personality. She takes privates, obedience and agility. She has learned soooooo much from Tabytha, Nikki and Kyler. Elli tends to be very vocal in class. It's sometimes frustrating. I'm so thankful for the trainers here. I've always been reassured that she'll be better and advised on how to handle her demand barking... and she is getting better everyday... Right now she is on break from classes because of her health, but when she's cleared we will be back!!! I can't wait!! Even now, she freaks out with excitement as we drive past. I absolutely love classes at the Zoom Room! My biggest hurdle with my dog is that he loves other dogs so it's incredibly difficult to get him to pay attention to me when in the presence of other dogs but these classes and the environment are very helpful. The instructors provide good feedback and genuinely care about your pup and your progress. This class is growing as Zoom Room gains more recognition in the dog lovers community. Zoom Room is inside the strip mall that houses the 99 Cents Only store and Chicken Mason. It's in the corner of Manhattan Beach and Inglewood. The staff members are so personable and hospitable. I always feel welcomed here. The dog training classes are so comprehensive. These guys really know what they're doing. A must place for people who consider their dogs as part of the family. read more
