I'm not opposed to going in to see doctors, but when I have an unknown issue, I usually like to see if it gets worse before seeking care. In this case, I had something that I decided to go in for. It was easy to make an appointment for the next day online. I was seen promptly at my appointment time. The doctor was kind and professional. The front office and back room were clean. Ultimately my issue was a "wait-and-see" kind of thing. My insurance didn't cover much of my visit, which was pricey for nothing having been done, so I recommend making sure that your insurance will cover a visit. Ultimately I wish I hadn't gone, but that's not due at all to the Zoom Care experience, just the cost of medical care these days. read more

My experience here was amazing! I've been sick for over a month with a hacking cough and pain in my side, which was already diagnosed as pulled rib muscles. I went to Providence Express Care twice and was basically given little diagnosis and some basic meds that didn't help. I then saw my GP, who gave me steroids that also didn't help. Then at 4 a.m. on a Thursday I woke up coughing and in extreme pain, I was doubled over and couldn't breathe for a moment. I spent the early morning hours trying to reach my GP, who wasn't calling back even though I was told she would. I finally went online and found Zoom Care. They take my insurance and could see me within an hour. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but they were great! The lobby is very welcoming, bright and clean. You are offered hot tea while you wait, which may not seem like much, but when you are already sick and upset, it's very comforting. The woman working the front desk was very friendly, helpful and professional. The doctor was amazing. He was about ten times more thorough than anyone else I've seen. He took the time to ask very detailed questions and to give advice on meds I had been taking, something no one else had done. He also palpitated my torso to find out exactly where the pain was coming from. I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia and prescribed an antibiotic and pain meds. They have their own pharmacy, so by the time I was paying my co-pay, the meds were ready. Super convenient. The meds may have been a little pricier than at my regular pharmacy, but I also didn't have to wait for hours while my pharmacy filled the prescription. It was such a relief to finally get a diagnosis and feel like someone actually cared. It's now 48 hours later and I'm already feeling some improvement. I really appreciate how proactive Zoom Care is. The next time I'm having a health issue, I will be heading here! read more

This is my second experience at ZOOM+Care as a patient, and once again I only have amazing things to report. I woke up in the middle of the night a week ago very ill. After a couple hours of struggle, I opened the app on my phone and made an appointment for the time this location opened. So freaking easy. When I got there about 5 minutes early, they let me in to sit down. The doctor promptly came to get me and we got right to business. The appointment is only 15 minutes, but every moment of that was utilized. The doctor was thorough, friendly, and professional, and I left with clear instructions for care and a note excusing me from an obligation. I truly appreciate the excellent service I've received from ZOOM+Care and I'll continue recommending them to everyone I know. read more

I love Zoom+Care. I come to the clinic whenever anything is wrong. And I get frequent UTIs so, that's pretty much all the time. But I came to the East Burnside location and had Benjamin Baker treat me. He laughed at the fact that I get so many UTIs and then proceeded to tell me that he would not give me a vaginal exam because he is a man. He did not give me a choice. He did not ask if I would mind if he gave me an exam. He did not offer me any other options. He just said he would not be doing that. So, he just told me it's probably a yeast infection and he would be treating me for that. Finally, at the last minute, he asked if I would like to do a self-swap test. He fumbled for a while to get that ready for me and then awkwardly left the room and had the front desk person give me directions. I've done a self-swap test twice before and had no issues doing that. I did have an issue about how awkward he made the process though. He was clearly nervous and not willing to even look me in the eye or give me directions. Instead, he had the front desk person explain the process to me while he left the room. The doctor never gave me any comfort during the process but he did proceed to laugh nervously about the whole situation. I felt like the only adult in the clinic at that point and I was pretty upset by the whole experience. Baker had the worst bedside manner and I honestly don't think he should be treating women if he can't at least offer them some respect, comfort, and professionalism. read more

As a long-time Zoom user, I am consistently impressed by their hard work and focus on me as the patient in most aspects. I never feel rushed, or cheated out of my money, or felt like I wasn't getting trustworthy, adequate care like I've received at other local urgent cares. Kimi and her staff are stellar! Everything is clean, the lobby isn't full of sick and anxious people. Kimi listened to my concerns, offered expert insight and recommendations on the best treatment plan for my stomach bug. I came out of the visit feeling better and confident that - while my treatment required very little in the way of medication - that I'd get better without fear of winding up in a hospital. Thank you Kimi and your staff for a job well done! I'm giving Kimi 5 stars, but the business a 3 star, because I don't want my only concern to reflect on the staff in the clinic - I'm sure you don't have control over this: I used to be able to communicate with my doctors over the phone or via email. It seems you cut the chord and demand that if I need anything I take time out of my busy life to come back in and pay you my co-pay? Alternatively, I've been told to go to chat but your app is constantly down for maintenance, what good is that? What place that has customers wants to make communicating with their customers more difficult? I don't feel I'ml zooming, I feel more like stutter stepping my access to my care, and I see other reviews express this frustration, as well. I went into the Zoomcare on NE 24th and Burnside because a cyst on my neck became very infected and was causing extreme pain. My experience with Zoomcare was exceptional and I will absolutely be returning when/if any other urgent medical matters arise. I was given a thorough evaluation by the knowledgeable and kind provider Colin Storz. I had to have my abscess drained and this procedure was done with much less pain than I anticipated because of Dr. Storz's steady hand and his great bedside manner. I was given antibiotics and wound dressing at the clinic so I did not have up go to a pharmacy to fill my Rx and I was seen promptly and my procedure only took about 30 min. I can not recommend this clinic and provider Storz anymore...10 stars! read more

I promise that I'm an adult. I've got the birth certificate, student loan debt and credit score to prove it. But if you were gathering evidence to refute the claim, Exhibit A would surely be my inability to make appointments in advance. Exhibit B would be the fact that almost a year in to living in Portland, and I still don't have a primary care physician. Thankfully, Zoom+Care doesn't care that I'm suffering from arrested development. They want to give me medical care, anyway. And dang if they don't make it easy and affordable. They advertise having something like 500 same-day appointments available systemwide, and while I don't intend to take the time to fact-check that claim, I do know that in the two appointments I've wanted, I was able to get exactly the time I had in mind. Plus, doing all of my insurance and credit card stuff online saved a ton of time in office. It seems like Zoom Care is really in tune with modern technology and ways of doing business, and as a result they create a seamless office experience. The care I received was friendly, informative and efficient. I honestly think I might just keep using them instead of setting up a primary care physician. It just makes sense for how I keep schedules and how I live my life. read more

As crappy as i feel right now I am PSYCHED to be able to rave about how awesome ZoomCare is again. Sore throat, feeling rundown but no fever and pain responds well to ibuprofen even though the back of my mouth is a horror show of swelling. No big deal, right? Not until the fifth day. Then it's time to get ZoomCare on whatever is going on in my neckular region. I call about 4pm and get an appointment at 7:15, which is like yawn for ZoomCare. My doctor would poo bricks at the thought of seeing someone after happy hour and on the same day? GASP! The horror. But I must be insane because I get there like an hour early. Is that a problem? ZoomCare doesn't even know what that word means. Boom I'm in. And it's the same person I saw last year at the Alberta location. So, minor caveat there for journalistic purposes, but Kimi's awesome so as a patient I'm anything but concerned. A few questions, then it's time to check out the wreckage that is my throat. "Wow. Your tonsils are almost touching." Damn right. Oh, wait, that's bad. So a few questions, a rapid strep test (those double barrel swabs trigger my gag reflex something terrible) and then we're updating records and she's getting background on me and BEEP (her laptop really beeped) I have strep. Crap. But they had the pills and Kimi told me to take tomorrow off work and throw away my toothbrush after the antibiotics start to work. I'd have never thought of that. ZoomCare yay! Regular doctor's offices boo!!!! Speaking of "offices", let's throw some happy-happy the way of the admin support. My insurance company isn't the i-dotting and t-crossing type and the dude at the front desk is gonna have to charge me the full nut (did I mention ZoomCare has prices lists? Try getting one of those out of your doctor) because he can't automatically verify my coverage. At most places this news would be delivered with either preemptive cruelty or with saccharine rending of garments and gnashing of teeth. Not this dude. He just lays it out with the proper sized spoonful of sugar. He should teach that. Plus I get the sense if my insurance office had been open he'd have been happy to call. I wish the academia medical industry would just freaking DIE already so we can all go to ZoomCare. read more

I don't go to see the Doctor very often, so my perception of how healthcare works is very minimal. I did use Zoomcare via Skype last winter and it was an awesome experience. This time, I hadn't been feeling well for a couple weeks so I decided to find a Doctor. I called three practices my insurance company listed near me and none of them answered their phones. To my dismay, I thought to myself, but I don't feel well, I have insurance, it shouldn't be this hard! So I went online to zoomcare.com and I made an appointment at this location in just a few minutes. It simply shows a list of all the available time slots. I even showed up late by 3 minutes or so, they admitted me with a simple address change on their computers (no stacks of paperwork!), and the Doctor saw me a few minutes later. Practically on time! I was seen by Kimi at this location and she was fantastic. She asked thorough questions and took notes on her MacBook Pro which was hooked up to a monitor so there was complete transparency to what she was writing. She then proceeded to give me a test and exam. Afterwards she thoroughly delivered my diagnosis by running through everything that she noticed during the exam in combination with the test results and my answers to her questions. It was incredibly thorough and informative. I love that she used sentences, like, "I heard you say..." It shows she was truly listening! Thanks to the monitor she was able to show me diagrams of my sinuses on her laptop and explain to me what was going on with me. The entire experience with Kimi and ZoomCare was fast, informative, and compassionate. US Healthcare could take a HUGE lesson from ZoomCare. ZoomCare, you're doing it right! What an amazing clinic! I woke up one morning with a terrible sore throat and it felt worse than a regular one and I thought it may be strep. I downloaded the ZOOM+Care app and was able to make an appointment for that same afternoon. When I arrived, I was seen by a doctor within 5 minutes and Dr. Niki Hassell tan a quick swab test. I then had a positive strep throat diagnosis and medication in hand within 20-minutes! Incredible! I didn't even have to go to the pharmacy. They were able to run my insurance and it was all so affordable (~$60). I would highly recommend the East Burnside ZOOM+Care! Such friendly and knowledgeable staff! read more

Katie Medwar, a nurse practitioner, saw me again, adjusted my medications and made referrals for specialists. Today she sent me follow-up email to see how I was doing! My husband and I were driving home yesterday when we realized that I was in the beginning throes of an anaphylactic reaction (my husband is a nurse). Because of the snow storm this week and our proximity to Zoom Care we opted to go there instead of driving to the closest ER. By the time we went into the facility my eyes were swelling shut and I was seeping fluid out of every orifice and in a great deal of burning discomfort. The receptionist was kind and ushered me into a room and went to get the PA. When the PA came in she asked me if I could breathe and I said yes but that my lungs were burning and I had a bad pain in the back of my throat and was wheezing. I am asthmatic and had taken albuterol right before when I initially believed it was the beginning of an asthma attack. My husband told her I had a history of anaphylactic episodes as a child but that I had not ingested anything in hours. Once the PA ascertained that I was still breathing she asked me to go sit in the waiting room because she could not give me any medication until the next available appointment in 30 minutes. My husband was astounded and he asked them to give me some benadryl at the very least because he was going to take me to the emergency room. The PA responded, "That's a good idea." My husband had to half carry me out of there (along with our terrified children) because I could no longer see and drove me to Providence Portland where the triage team saw right away that I was experiencing a severe anaphylactic reaction and rushed me to the nearest doctor for epinephrine and a host of other meds. They saved my life. Zoom Care should be called Zero Care. At the very least, they could have saved me some time by telling me up front that they could not treat me until the next available appointment time. I don't know what the other Zoom Care locations are like but based on this experience I will never entrust mine or any loved ones care to their practitioners. read more

I live on the East Coast, but recently flew out to visit a friend in Portland. Post-plane ride I was feeling a little woozy. I googled my symptoms and got a pretty good idea of the problem (began with a "U" ended in a "TI"). I was very nervous that it would affect my trip and had no idea what to do or where to go. From the second I found ZOOM Care via a Google search I was absolutely blown away. Here's why: -You can make an appointment online (unheard of in Philly urgent care) -You complete your check-in paperwork online, and they actually use it when you get there instead of making you fill it out again -They see you at (or before) your scheduled appointment time. My appointment was for 10:30am (made the evening before), but I was in and out by 10:40. I had only arrived at 10:10!!! Keep in mind this was the weekend. I was ready to wait, but there was no need. -The receptionist and doctor treated me like a bonafide human being! Not a like a problem, not like a hassle, certainly not like something to alternately glare at/ignore while texting your friend about how much working in an urgent care facility sucks (again, I'm used to Philly through and through). The people working were both so nice. The receptionist had clearly read my paperwork before I arrived, and already knew my co-pay amount (instead of how it goes here...which is to say demanding your insurance card and focusing on it like a caveman trying to conjure fire). They did a few tests, handed me my antibiotics (they have an in-house medicine supply) and sent me on my way. That in and of itself was enough for me to love ZoomCare, but they impressed me even more after I got back home. They'd given me enough meds for the duration of my trip, and advised me to make an appointment with my primary care physician if I got home and was still feeling sick. I felt sick the day after I finished my meds, but my primary care doctor couldn't see me for another week (like I said Philly healthcare often sucks). I called ZoomCare for advice, and they actually called another round of antibiotics into my local pharmacy. This prescription lasted me until I was able to see my primary. If I lived in Portland I would volunteer to be in a commercial for this place. TL;DR: 10/10 worth hurting yourself to go there. read more

Not a good experience for me, they did not call in prescription like they said they would, you cannot call the facility to find out why and when you try and chat online, they are TOO BUSY and TRY BACK in a few minutes. I have been going to ZoomCare for years, and have been to 5 different locations, and have had great service at all of them. But Kevin and Kimi are the best by far! Extra props go to Kevin for managing my 6'6" husband who is TERRIFIED of needles and pretty much passed out on the floor. They were efficient, friendly, and professional. I knew exactly why I was sick, and it happened on a Saturday morning. Rather than waiting eight hours in the ER, I was able to schedule an appointment here for thirty minutes after I went online. They did labs and an exam and filled a prescription, all within 20 minutes of setting foot inside. I didn't even have to get my prescription filled myself! t was fast, easy and relatively affordable. They have a small pharmacy inside with common medications, and they also follow up with you via email. I don't think I'd go here for anything comprehensive, but as long as you have some idea of what's wrong with you and it's not particularly serious, I'd give it a go again. read more

If zoomcare can't confirm your insurance ahead of time, you have to pay out of pocket. If you make an appointment after 5, and your lovely insurance company is closed, then you have to pay yourself. But of course they won't tell you about this over the phone when scheduling the appointment... And if you schedule after the cancellation grace period, you'll be stuck paying even if you want to skip treatment. Nice staff. Running late. Last time I used zoomcare (different location), I paid for my service and then still received a bill in the mail for the same thing. I called and they straightened it out, but come on. Get it together. This place is fine for urgent situations, but go see a real doctor for other stuff. It's the Walmart of care providers. read more

As much as I love the convenience & speed of zoom care, today I felt that it came at the expense of my health when the doctor/pa-c selected which of my health concerns to address without even providing me with a follow up plan for one of my health issues. When I inquired, she said I could come back tomorrow if I wanted. I believe that no acute health concern should go in acknowledged by a medical professional. If time was an issue, I believe that the proper standard of care would be to at least minimally address it by making a plan with the patient. Additionally, I believe if zoom care is to place a quota on what a provider is allowed to address, the provider should give the patient the information and option to decide which issues to address. I highly recommend against zoom care unless you're in the market for the fast food of health care. But ultimately I guess I should have known... read more

Made a appointment online at 4:00 was able to be seen at 4:45. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken to a room a treated right away. I was in and out and on my way to the pharmacy in under an hour. Best experience ever! After several weeks of pain in my hip, I was referred to see a physical therapist and made an appointment with Jennifer Naughton. When I arrived the receptionist was extremely helpful and clear about insurance billing and about what I should expect before getting stuck with a huge bill at the end. After only about a minute wait, Jennifer brought be back for an initial exam--which I had no idea about what to expect-- and after 15 minutes I had such a clear understanding of what was wrong and how I could work to ease my pain. Jennifer was extremely personable, clear, and I could tell she is passionate about her work. She thoroughly explained various exercises by showing me examples, and then helped me practice to fully understand how to perform each move. She was encouraging and one of the most helpful physicians I have ever seen. After I left the appointment, Jennifer emailed me all of the directions for each exercise in a clear message and made a follow up plan. She also recommended other performance-based tests I could do to further improve my fitness and ease muscle pain. I would DEFINITELY recommend Jennifer to anyone seeking an educated, personable, and helpful physical therapist!! read more

Our most recent visit was with a PA who was not at all compassionate and didn't even do any sort of diagnosis. Total waste of money. Really disappointed. First I scheduled an appointment for my 5 year old to get a flu vaccine, got there on time only to discover that they had only the shot not the mist. What 5 year old wants a shot if they could get the mist? So they rescheduled me for a different Zoomcare that had mist the next day at a time I told them would be hard for me to make. I was told it would be okay to be late because the vaccine administration takes less than 5 minutes. So I arrived 10 minutes late, 5 year old in tow, to find no receptionist. Waited 10 minutes for him to show up, was rudely told that since I was late they wouldn't help us but could reschedule us for 3 hours later. I explained what I was told and was again refused because we were late. The place was empty! Ridiculous. Lack of common sense makes me question whether I would seek actual medical care here. read more

I am busy. I went to Taiwan for work and came back with a weird rash. The kind of rash that seems not interesting except it make me scratch my hands and feet at night and look up symptoms at web md at 6 am I tried my regular doc and a recommended dermatologist, they were busy. Wow, what an amazing experience!! I have avoided the flu or a cold this season because of my vigilance, so the thought of going to my Dr.'s office and sitting and waiting in a room with many many sick people was a huge turnoff. I made an appointment time that was PERFECT for my work schedule, and the office was RIGHT on my way home. Kevin and Kimi were so perfect. I wish Kimi was my primary care provider. She was so good. I walked out of there with a consultation, lab work, diagnosis and antibiotics in under 30 minutes. Plus they took my health insurance, so the entire visit was $26. Unbelievable. Why would I: (1) Jump through hoops to try to get an appointment to see my Dr.; (2) Submit myself to the perfect place for germs to live; (3) Wait in the waiting room; (4) Wait in the exam room; and (5) Make a trip to the pharmacy - when I can go to ZoomCare? Visiting from out of state for work. Lost my voice and needed an appointment stat. The help line was able to find the closest location with the earliest appointment for me. Best part is with my insurance they charge me just a PCP office visit copay. The gentleman working the front desk was very professional and nice.
