Not knowing anyone in the area; I found Dog Town online. I spoke to Anthony on the phone the night…read morebefore to set up the overnight boarding of my 2 Cairn Terriers. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the dogs and what to expect. He even went so far as to help me with suggestions about my logistical problems getting to NYC the next day. There are a few times in life when you meet someone or a place and feel like you and your girls (dogs) belong. It's an intuitive feeling. This is such a place. I felt off the charts great about leaving my dogs there. Not something I have ever felt anywhere, outside my family before. Anthony and his staff were super positive and up beat with not only my dogs, but with me. I was actually having an unbelievably bad day when I dropped them off. Anthony went over the top to help me out. I always say, when bad things happen that's when you find out who people really are. They turned my bad day into a good one. I boarded my girls overnight and they were not as comfortable as I was going in, but coming out they were not "desperate" to see me like they usually are when I pick them up from other boarders. They were enjoying the staff and happy to see me at the same time. With such over the top care you would expect over the top prices, but to my surprise they were completely reasonable. So happy I found a place I can trust. PS This is by far the best review I have ever written for yelp.

Let me start by saying that I NEVER leave reviews, but I feel I have not choice but to share so…read morethat others avoid this issue. We booked our golden doodle for a groom. I gave very specific instructions including a picture of what he should look like. He has a beautiful shiny coat, and we have had him groomed quite frequently over the past 3 years. When I went to pick him up with my mom I knew we were in trouble when my mom let out an audible gasp when she saw him. He literally looked like he had been electrocuted, or like a caricature of what a mutt in an alley would look like. His tail was chopped so short it looked like a rope toy, and there were tufts of uneven fur everywhere. The groomer asked if there was anything she wanted us to "clean up" but there was zero chance she was ever touching my dog again. I left and took him home at which point my wife was near tears upon seeing him. I called and asked for a manager, and got a call back FROM THE SAME GROOMER. So that was awkward! I explained I needed a manager, and eventually the owner called me back. He was very apologetic and said this had never happened before. He said that he could have another groomer try and "fix it", but only at their Calverton location, which is 45 minutes from my house. He refused to offer any help at the location in Southold. I took him to Calverton today. The groomer there was very professional, but immediately told me that she was not a "miracle worker" and there was only so much she could do to fix this "hatchet job". She also said she had to fix 3-4 dogs from this other groomer just this week! She did a professional job, and did the best she could, but in order to do that, she had to go really short to even out the places where he had basically been shaved down. My dogs hair is now 3x shorter than it ever has been before, to the point where I don't even recognize him. I called the owner back, and explained that I should not have had to pay for this service, as the other groomer admitted it was not a professional job, and that she had cleaned up multiple other dogs done by this first groomer. Additionally, I had to devote three hours of my day to getting this fixed. The owner said the best he could do was a 25% discount off of a future grooming, which I find laughable given this experience. I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR GROOMING AT ALL COSTS!!!

Contemporary wood paneled room with a window wall overlooking the river below. Expertly made martinis followed by watermelon beet and feta salad; and wild mushrooms with Parmesan bread crumbs, mint, fried rosemary and whipped ricotta. Both were very tasty expressions of the season. Our table raved over the tagliarini with a local beef, pork and veg ragu and a shellfish version with a spicy puttanesca. The menu changes regularly to highlight the best of the season and local producers. Sometimes it's nice to eat delicious food with no blasting music, at reasonable prices (app/salads: $12-16, most entrees high 20's to $36) just hanging with happy well fed adults enjoying conversation. It would have been 5 stars but for the forgetting of complimentary bread service until we asked for it during the entrees. The bread was mediocre and chewy. Our primary waitperson sort of disappeared for a bit. An evening special of soba noodles with julienne vegetables was really just a bowl of noodles with little evidence of any veggies. Regardless, I've recommended to about 10 people already today and I'll keep doing so!!

By the time I got her she was crazy to play and pulled my back out by lunging toward other dogs for a wrestle. As a responsible dog owner, I didn't want to bring her to the dog run w/o testing her first so I called Dogtown for training and dog walking and was told that there was a two month wait. After two months I had difficulty walking at all but had learned that she wasn't aggressive to anything except maybe birds. When I called Dogtown back for an appointment I left a message and received an answer that there was a wait list. I called back to be put on the list and was told that I needed to speak with Julie. Julie never called back. I left two more messages before giving up. This was over a four month period. I guess Dogtown business is so good that they don't need any more customers. I would never go back because of the disrespect and unprofessionalism I experienced from just their front desk. I got a different trainer and dog walker & that pup is happily living with a four yr old child, two cats and a 20 year old canine sister. My experience with DT was frustrating and horrible and I would never recommend them.
