Let me start by saying that I NEVER leave reviews, but I feel I have not choice but to share so…read morethat others avoid this issue. We booked our golden doodle for a groom. I gave very specific instructions including a picture of what he should look like. He has a beautiful shiny coat, and we have had him groomed quite frequently over the past 3 years. When I went to pick him up with my mom I knew we were in trouble when my mom let out an audible gasp when she saw him. He literally looked like he had been electrocuted, or like a caricature of what a mutt in an alley would look like. His tail was chopped so short it looked like a rope toy, and there were tufts of uneven fur everywhere. The groomer asked if there was anything she wanted us to "clean up" but there was zero chance she was ever touching my dog again. I left and took him home at which point my wife was near tears upon seeing him. I called and asked for a manager, and got a call back FROM THE SAME GROOMER. So that was awkward! I explained I needed a manager, and eventually the owner called me back. He was very apologetic and said this had never happened before. He said that he could have another groomer try and "fix it", but only at their Calverton location, which is 45 minutes from my house. He refused to offer any help at the location in Southold. I took him to Calverton today. The groomer there was very professional, but immediately told me that she was not a "miracle worker" and there was only so much she could do to fix this "hatchet job". She also said she had to fix 3-4 dogs from this other groomer just this week! She did a professional job, and did the best she could, but in order to do that, she had to go really short to even out the places where he had basically been shaved down. My dogs hair is now 3x shorter than it ever has been before, to the point where I don't even recognize him. I called the owner back, and explained that I should not have had to pay for this service, as the other groomer admitted it was not a professional job, and that she had cleaned up multiple other dogs done by this first groomer. Additionally, I had to devote three hours of my day to getting this fixed. The owner said the best he could do was a 25% discount off of a future grooming, which I find laughable given this experience. I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR GROOMING AT ALL COSTS!!!

We found Dogtown and was very comfortable from the first day we brought Shamrock for daycare. We also boarded him overnight when I had surgery. Chris and the whole staff are wonderful!

This place is very affluent, so there's lots of shopping opportunities in this area. tucked in the parking lot of one of these places is a large duplex-sized place called Jakes, which has a ton of good press online. We go in, and the place is somewhat dim. The place is small but very dark. It kind of reminds me of a collectables shop in terms of the ambiance. Functional, but not very inviting. The menu has pretty much all hot dogs, and lots of them. The sheer amount of unique dogs is impressive. This being one of our later stops in our trek, we opted for a chicken teriyaki dog and a Seattle dog for comparisons. The food comes out quick, we take pics and dig in. First off, the hot dog to bun ratio was way off. the hot dogs were way too small for the bun, which was very evident with the Seattle dog. So you would get lots of bread with a little bit of dog on each bite. Second, the hot dogs were actually very salty. This usually has no real bearing on the dish, since I do like my salt. The problem being that the two hot dogs we got had high salt condiments on them (bacon and chicken teriyaki). the combo of salt on salt just lead to some very salty bites. The dogs themselves were prepared properly. I do enjoy the split and grill method of dog cooking. but there was a major lack of balance with the two we got. If we got hot dogs that had other non-salty ingredients, then these dogs would be good. but as prepared, they were a little off. It's an option if you want a hot dog, I would probably avoid the two that we got unless you like salty dogs.

How could you not like this place?! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and an awesome menu. We tried the reuben dog, taco dog and guilty pleasure dog with the Cajun fries. Dogs are messy but fun.... loved the taco dog! Cajun fries were too salty but appreciate that they are made in house! (Wish they had sweet potato fries with a fun dipping sauce though!) Can't wait to go back and try more creations!

Riley's is much nicer inside than you'd ever expect from a hot dog place. There's a lot of space,…read moreeverything is clean, and the whole setup has a trendy industrial feel that works really well. Even the bathrooms were noticeably nice, particularly for such a fast-paced lunch spot. I had the Chicago Dog and the House Dog. We've been on the hunt for a good Chicago dog that's, you know... closer than Chicago, so I was glad to see one on the menu. It was quite good, but not what I expected based on the ones I remember from Chicago. This version leaned heavier on the relish and toppings, didn't have the bright green relish, and ended up a little messier overall. It did match exactly what the menu described, though, so that part's on me for not reading it more closely. All that micro-complaining aside, I'd get it again--though I may first try to work through the extensive menu a bit. There are some great options, and you should expect to struggle deciding (maybe check the menu in advance). The House Dog was delicious, but also pretty messy--definitely grab some napkins. Prices were a tiny bit higher than I'd expect for hot dogs, but the quality, presentation, and overall vibe seemed aligned with that. Overall, Riley's is a great option if you want a nicer sit-down hot dog experience with lots of choices and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd go back, especially to try more of the specialty dogs.

By the time I got her she was crazy to play and pulled my back out by lunging toward other dogs for a wrestle. As a responsible dog owner, I didn't want to bring her to the dog run w/o testing her first so I called Dogtown for training and dog walking and was told that there was a two month wait. After two months I had difficulty walking at all but had learned that she wasn't aggressive to anything except maybe birds. When I called Dogtown back for an appointment I left a message and received an answer that there was a wait list. I called back to be put on the list and was told that I needed to speak with Julie. Julie never called back. I left two more messages before giving up. This was over a four month period. I guess Dogtown business is so good that they don't need any more customers. I would never go back because of the disrespect and unprofessionalism I experienced from just their front desk. I got a different trainer and dog walker & that pup is happily living with a four yr old child, two cats and a 20 year old canine sister.
