The gelato was delicious and the person serving me was very knowledgeable about the difference between gelato and ice cream. We tried the vanilla with shaved chocolate and the pistachio and it was so good! The store is very cute and they have many different types of candy. We also picked up a chocolate orange, sour gummy candies, and more!

LOVE LAFAYETTE After falling in love with Lafayette nearly 6 years ago, I finally made my first trip to Zoonie's. And boy was it a pleasant adventure! The candy store is conveniently located in downtown Lafayette, near a variety of shops and restaurants. And though I love many of the eateries within walking distance to Zoonie's, I never would have stepped foot into the candy store had it not been for my niece's 7th birthday. We enjoyed a TT and niecey birthday brunch at Batch & Brine. And as she was finishing her chicken and waffles, she looked across the street and said TT can we please go to the candy store. So we quickly paid the bill and off we went. From first moment I stepped into the store I began reliving different aspects of my childhood as I saw the swirl lollipops, the dots candy with the white paper back, the airheads, and the large assortment of PEZ candy dispensers. Then I looked to the left and it was as if I'd been transported back to the 80s, when I first watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. They have a small theater area and the movie that I remember vividly from my childhood was playing in the screen and above the television there were several Willy Wonka chocolate bars. I couldn't help but wonder if one contained the highly sought after GOLDEN TICKET. What can I say, some things are etched into our memory banks. Lol. We strolled through the store purchasing all of our favs and kicked back in the theater area and enjoyed the show. This is a great place to take the kiddos, especially during the summer or as a reward for good grades. Take a trip and awaken the kid within.

As you enter you feel like you're at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or SF Fisherman's Wharf bc it is such a fun & colorful store that not only offers a wide variety of candies, but Gelato as well. It is definitely a well stocked store!

What a dream!! This is such an amazing candy store and mini toy store, and they even have a in store cinema! Huge selection of candies including jellybeans, gummies and hand crafted chocolates. I bough some toys and candies and will definitely come back for more!

Visiting from Kansas. This store is the 'Bomb' for the sweet tooth. Ice cream, chocolates and nostalgic candy bars (remember rock candy?). Owner is very customer focused and personable. Kansas City would welcome a Zoonie's.

I was filled with so much nostalgia when i walked into Zoonie's. I'm originally from San Jose and grew up going to Powell's (now Willow Glen Sweet Shoppe). I always loved that I was able to sit down and watch Willy Wonka which is one of my favorite movies. I don't go down to San Jose often, so having Zoonie's so close to me is awesome! I appreciate the variety of candy that is sold here. Currently due to the pandemic you need to ask an associate to bag your candy from the bulk bins or you can simply grab a bag that's packed towards the middle area of the bulk bins. I grabbed a variety of sour belts that were already packaged which made the process even easier! I honestly wasn't a fan of putting the candy in bags myself. There is also gelato which I will have to grab next time! I definitely recommend this candy store to anyone who has a sweet tooth as you can spend hours going through all the candy and also watch Willy Wonka while you're there!

Zoonie's used to be Powell's, end it is now weigh less cluttered and every bit as good! They have a whole wall full of candies that you can dump into a bag and then pay by the pound. They have all kinds of old-time candy, and new candy bars as well. They have gelato and handmade chocolates in a special refrigerated case. Unlike Powell's, they don't sell lots of coffee mugs and gimmicky little toys. It's still as good as ever! And maybe a little better.

Not to mention, coffee beverages and hot chocolate on the menu. I ordered a variety of chocolates. They charge by weight, but I prefer customizing to my desired selections rather than getting a mystery box. I got a handful of chocolate almonds (covered in dark, milk, and blonde chocolate), noir de noir (dark chocolate ganache), wild animal chocolates (I wanted the koala with chocolate mousse, but they were out so I settled for the monkey and unicorn instead), leonidas milk chocolate bark made with salted almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans (sweeter than expected), marron noisette (dark chocolate filled with coffee flavored praline), and the staff, possibly the shop owner, threw in a pumpkin bon bon (made with pumpkin spice) for free. As a chocolate lover, belgian chocolates aren't exactly my fave. However Leonidas Love & Chocolate Shop offers a nice assortment of chocolatey confections and adorable creations like animal-shaped goodies, which is great for gift giving or just to treat yourself.

I've purchased this apple several times at Rachel Dunn Chocolates, which was a chocolate shop on Detroit Ave. in Concord. The apple is juicy and sweet. The caramel is just the right amount so it's not overly sweet. I ordered one for dessert for Christmas. It's refreshing after a big dinner. The apple is huge, and it easily can serve 8 people with a good size wedge. The literature that comes with the apple says it can serve 8 to 12 people. It's best to take the apple out of the refrigerator 8 hours before serving so that the caramel and chocolate are easily sliced. Once we forgot and then the chocolate was brittle and broke into pieces when we sliced it.Customer service is great. I wasn't able to get through on the phone line to order so I sent an email. Amazing Chocolate Class & Delicious Treats!…read more I'm rating this based solely on the chocolate class and their chocolates--I haven't visited their pop-up store in Concord, but I had the pleasure of attending their class in Oakland. First off, the chocolate is absolutely delicious! Second, the owners are incredibly kind and accommodating. The entire family is so welcoming and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. We were lucky to have our class led by the owner himself, Michael Dunn, who made the session both informative and fun. Parking was conveniently located right in front of their Oakland location, and we were fortunate to have a smaller, more intimate class. Everything was well-organized--from the hairnets and aprons to the chocolates and dipping stations. They shared insights into the chocolate-making process, along with a bit of history and its significance, which added a cool educational aspect to the experience. This is such a fun activity, whether you're with family, on a date, or even solo. Honestly, it would also make for a fantastic work team-building event! And the best part? Taste testing! Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. Thank you for an amazing class and incredible chocolates!

For those who don't know what the Dubai chocolates are, they are milk chocolates filled with shredded phyllo dough and pistachio cream. My first impression was whether or not I had walked into an art gallery or a confectionary shop. Uh...turns out both! According to their website, the owner and her partner were originally artists prior to becoming chocolatiers. This place just screams creativity and their chocolates are ethically-sourced and almost too pretty to eat. They even have a backroom gallery to showcase local artists' confectionary-inspired works. We couldn't find the Dubai chocolates, but one of the employees approached us and asked if we needed any assistance. Turns out they were in the back and they had just received a shipment! The Dubai chocolates were nutty, crunchy, flaky, and velvety all in one! Pricey, but worth trying. Also, might I just take a moment to say I absolutely adore the shop's name! It almost looks like "XO Chocolate" as in kisses and hugs, bu also reminded me of the language of the ancient Latin American civilizations and - fun fact - Xocolatl (you see the play on words?) means chocolate (literally means "bitter water") back when they would mix purely cocoa and water as a drink. If I'm not mistaken, this business is Latina-owned, so perhaps that was intention? So clever and, either way, kudos to them!
