I had the Pizza, sausage and pepperoni, it had sliced sausage which to me is not good. It looks weird and tastes just ok. But after I removed it, the pizza was good. The crust is thin on the bottom and the outside crust is crispy and delicious. I would get it again but just with pepperoni only. As a European I've eaten Greek food on many, many occasions. This place was such a poor experience. The Greek salad was awful, it was literally a bag of regular salad, there was nothing even resembling a real Greek salad, no feta cheese, no juicy tomato and 2 small pieces of cucumber. It was truly dreadful. The gyro was dried preformed slices that looked like shoe leather, I've never seen anything like it. No flavor at all and totally inedible. I did complain and was comped a dessert but for $23 it was truly awful. The server was truly apologetic but I won't ever return, first and last visit. read more

Overall I would say this is a solid place to have a great meal. Being from California and seeing the people cooking I was VERY skeptical of what the meal was going to taste like. ***Shoot me we have a melting pot and great authentic food made from the source**** I was pleasantly surprised surprised by my meal. I ordered one of the 5 specials: leg of lamb. Now I will say I was disappointed it wasn't on the bone and the meat wasn't as tender as I would have liked but overall the meal tasted really good. For $12.99 the deal for the amount of food was great. Everyone in our group had something different that all looked delicious. They have more than just Greek food which in itself was interesting. At our table there was pork chops, lasagna, pizza, and some Greek dish that I don't recall the name. Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was good, with the server coming back to check on our large group frequently. My two gripes were she kept reaching over everyone which is a big no no is service industry and downright tacky. Additionally, they had their fingers basically in the food when they were bringing some of the plates to the table; which is disgusting. Visited Zorba's today with GREAT anticipation for the Turkey and Cheese Grinder. So absolutely disappointed with the changes. The bread was not the same, and there was barely any turkey on the sub. Toss out the odd strip mall location, overlook the outdated decor and seating areas, and instead focus on what Zorbas and their team has mastered. Amazing, flavorful, huge portioned, delicious Greek food that comes out fast with friendly service and a ridiculously reasonable bill at check out. Inflation skipped this place--blessedly!!! I feel so terrible that I judged it so harshly but it is a foodie gem. It has been packed every time we have gone so maybe not hidden but definitely new to me. What they do--they do delightfully!!! The menu is HUGE. I was so overwhelmed with all the amazing options available. The soup of the day, we enjoyed on a frigid December evening, and it was noteworthy. I think it was a lemon and chicken soup. Completely different than I expected, it was creamy, but it was soul warming!!! Like something my grandma would make if you were sick. First of all this place is old, dirty, sticky and falling apart. They needed to put money back in the business not just their pockets. Ordered a Gyro and it didn't come with tzatziki sauce but mayonnaise. It was horrible. Really didn't eat it just picked. Frozen forms of lamb patties. Same as Arby's (but at least Arby's was half way decent) fast foods. Could not get passed all the cob webs and dust on some creepy wave things on ceiling. Heads up if you order to go it is not kept at correct temperature till you pick up. It is placed on a rack next to hostess stand. However, on my recent visit home, I met up with one of my oldest friends we headed to the Zorba's Irmo location. I currently live in Hawaii and on this visit home I wanted to show my youngest daughter some of the food favorites from my youth. I was hoping that it would be as fantastic as I remembered and it wasn't too bad. Zorba's was a date spot when I was growing up and from what I could tell from the clientele also dining, that hasn't changed. Zorba's didn't disappoint in either the prices or the portions. Interestingly, I remember it being much more expensive, but that was before I relocated to Honolulu. So now, everything seems to be on sale in South Carolina. That's a win-win as the serving sizes are also ENORMOUS!!! My daughter ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli. Yes, there are a number of Italian offerings at this Greek restaurant. I wish I could say she said it was fantastic, but she's a teen. However, the leftovers were gone the next day, so I can only assume it was more than acceptable. I ordered the pastitsio and since I had never had it, I had to trust the description, which was pretty much on point. However, that was literally the LARGEST portion of food I have ever been served . . . EVER!!! The service was friendly and helpful. The food, however, took a fair amount of time to be served. Food is pretty good, and service is good. However, this is the ONLY place I know that charges xtra for noddles on chicken parmigiana. If you order not knowing about the noodles, you will only get a chicken breast with some sauce. That was a huge let down when I ordered it and found out noodles are extra. read more

Updating my initial review. Yes, my friend and I had a FEAST, and that was back in 2020. Fast-forward 2 years later (2022), I'm still a fan. I'm still so much a fan, I recently picked up some food here and I noticed the Baklava Cheesecake in the dessert display and couldn't resist since I LOVE cheesecake. Let's see... poor service and awful food about sums it up. We wanted to order veal parmesan but the server told us they were out (@720?) because someone forgot to order it. So my wife ordered prime rib (posted special) and I ordered spaghetti. I've been told specials are just a way for restaurants to get rid of food. Given the quality of my wife's prime rib I would agree. It was chewy, fatty, almost cold and no more than 1/4" think at best. You can't mess up spaghetti right? Well Zorba's can! First there was so much sauce you could hardly find and pasta. Guess they were running out of pasta too. And it was awful! The sauce was so salty and bland it was inedible. It took several minutes to get our server because they were more concerned with a table of 10 and a family of 4 next to us. When we complained the server apologized and left. Didn't see them again until they brought the bill. Just a horrible experience. read more

Went here New Year's Eve. Not particularly busy. I had the lamb gyro and my wife had the moussaka. The moussaka was massive. I was a little disappointed to see that the gyro was the same as most places selling gyros here in the USA ie bought in thick slices of meat rather than home made kebab shaved and the pita bread was the bought in thick rubbery kind of pita rather than home made. Purchased a slice of cake and it was below par. The quality of the cake was poor: Flavorless and there was none of the buttery, vanilla, richness that occupies the soul of great southern cakes. There was a hint of staleness to the frosting that tasted like that it was comprised of whipped crisco. Overall the cake recipie needs a serious overhaul. The food on the other hand was delicous. Not overly seasoned and cooked well. This is where Zorbas light shines. GET ANOTHER BAKER PLEASE! Please try their food offerings which far outshines their dessert offerings. This is a very large Greek / American restaurant situated in a strip mall. The most surprising thing about Zorbas is how large the restaurant is. It's huge -- like the size of 2 Olive Gardens. So, they must have a pretty good following. As far as Greek food, I'm giving it an average score. It's not the best nor the worst. My entree (the stuff chicken) was really good and I'd order that again. Same with the salad. The chicken souvlaki, however, was pretty bland. Likewise, the appetizer plate was a little lacking. The spanakopita tasted like the store bought triangles. If I go back (and I might next time I visit this area), I'd be careful in my selections. This place seems hit or miss on a few things. The also need to spend a little money to refurbish the restrooms and interior. It's looking a little worn. Overall: Go if you want Greek food. Went last night on Valentines. Got the Greek Souvlaki platter, chicken, beef with Greek potatoes and rice w Greek side salad. After waiting 45 minutes for food. Unbelievable! When it was set on table I knew this had been sitting. Nothing on the plate was warm, chicken was dry and beef was same, potatoes and rice wasn't even Luke warm! The meats was not just cooked over the last 45 minutes. I called the waitress back over to the table and politely told her she could take that back. Also, I couldn't believe they would even send it out to a paying customer. No management came out and said they was sorry about the food prep. BECAUSE, they don't care. Zorba's is a staple in our household. There is a large selection so everyone can get their favorite. The food is fresh and delicious. Their Greek salad is the best! My Greek friend always orders the Chicken Souvlaki because it is authentic. The spicy feta dip is also a favorite. It's a family friendly establishment, so don't expect quiet. This was the 2nd time we visited Zorba's when visiting a friend in Columbia SC.. .. First time was mid May 2025 with 2 friends and I ordered the lasagna and spouse the Greek sampler.. My lasagna was a huge portion but laying in so much oily sauce and really just so so taste wise. Could only eat half of it and did not bother taking rest back to friend's place.. Spouse was not at all impressed with the Grecian sampler saying the stuffed grape leaves were tough as well as pepperoncini peppers.. Today we went and I ordered the Salmon and one tiny bite had to send it back as was so salty and over seasoned it was nasty.. Waitress immediately was not surprised (obviously happens to lots of people who do not like salt lick food) and give her kudos as she said she could take the salmon away and bring me a chicken breast pronto which was good so did not have to eat my meal while spouse watched .. Spouse had the half baked chicken special and it was very tasty dish however stated it was not very hot and actually cold in some parts of the chicken.. We ordered a baklava to share and it was awful.. Tough, dry, phyllo dough way overcooked dark brown and ate only a few bites and was surprised it was served with whipped cream and had no honey syrup.. I'm predictable when dining here. I go for the Greek chicken with rice and a salad. The wait staff always adds to the positive energy.

If you think Zorba's is just for Greek, you are missing out. They also have Italian, American and great desserts. My favorites are their eraser board and daily lunch specials. I ordered the fried fish platter with fresh cut fries and slaw for $7.99. A fish sandwich combo at a fast food restaurant would cost more and wouldn't compare in taste or amount of food. My wife had the soup and sandwich combo. The sandwich had about one-half pound of meat and cheese. The soup tasted homemade. We split a side Greek salad loaded with Feta. The staff is friendly and prompt. The atmosphere and decor is old Greek with plenty of booths. They have a display case full of great desserts fresh daily. This restaurant is hit and miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not so much. Today I got the Blackened Salmon and it was raw (and I mean raw). Usually I would just sent it back and cook it more but we couldn't get the waitress to come to us. She never checked on us until my wife was done and I was finished with the sides. She had another one made for me and I just took it home. I don't blame to waitress for what the cook screwed up but she should have checked on us. We were out of water too.
