This was my first time trying Dano's Pizza. We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza plus the garlic knots and took everything to go. I appreciated that they have a designated pickup area with some seating, which made waiting and pickup super easy. The pizza was solid and a good size to split between two to three people. The real highlight was the garlic knots. At first, they looked smaller than expected, which had me a little skeptical, but one bite completely changed my mind. The calamari could use a makeover. The breadind seemed out of place. The sauce was horseradish based, and kids would not eat it. Garlic knots were big and doughy. They would have been better if they were smaller. We did not expect them to be deep-fried. I ordered a calzone. I had to ask for more sauce to get it down. They need to spice up the sauce. It seems to have a heavy can taste. We have ordered togo pizza (cheese and pepperoni) in the past. It was good. It is hard to find a good sit-down pizza place. My family could never do that because we all want something a little different. I love that Dano's has served pizza by the slice for 20 years. I had the gourmet pizza slice, this time it was a bbq pizza sauce with ham, pineapple, and jalapeños. OMG it was so good. Hot, sweet, saucy, and tasty all at the same time. Oh. There is a picture for you to see what I'm talking about, but the slice is bigger than the paper plate they serve it on. I don't know when they started using paper plates, but that's the way they've done it for at least the last 10 years. It is kind of like you are at a friends house having a slice. Just go with it. The Greek side salad was great and plentiful. I got it with balsamic vinegar dressing. The cannoli was delicious! Prices were good. I have celiac disease and they offer a GF pizza there. The waitress took plenty of time to explain to me their protocol, how it's baked on its own pans and prepped in a separate area.
