It's ok. Bland, pricey and not big portions, this place gets a lot of business in part because the lunch options aren't great downtown. Maybe I'm spoiled but I've had much better Greek food at a more reasonable price in several places. I don't hate it but the salads aren't fresh, the gyro meet seems microwaved, the sauces are canned and the desserts are tiny. The service is mostly pretty quick and some of the people working behind the counter are nice enough but there's nothing to keep me coming back. FAILED!! I went here for the first time and waited almost 10 minutes just to order because the cashier wanted to yap with a group of 6 instead of taking their order and moving on. It's okay to chat with customers but be mindful that other ppl are waiting and at least call up help. It wasn't even busy either, in fact, it was just before the lunch rush. Another cashier finally came up and took someone that had just walked in over me. The cashier kinda apologized but went right into how good the food was after I told her this was my first time here. The floor was noticeably sticky with audible sounds to go with which tells me they mopped with dirty water or sugar water. At least 3 tables were dirty but again they weren't busy and the tables just needed to be wiped off. While waiting, a disabled customer rolled up to door trying to get in while sitting in her motorized wheelchair and I got up and assisted her by opening door and holding it so that she could come in. I was surprised because she was obviously a regular based on the greeting by the cashier. I thought, you're next to a hospital and have a regular disabled customer but you haven't had automated doors installed yet...hmm!! Anyway, I ordered beef tips but got more salad n rice than anything on a paper plate to boot. Impressively enough, the food came out pretty fast but the beef tips portion and sizes were a joke but maybe good for a growing kid. The food was decent but I was done with the atmosphere and poor customer service. First impressions killed it for me and I won't be back. This place will survive since they're next to hospital and one of few places to grab a quick meal that's good for med care workers and business folk. Greek Boys is a lunchtime treat, great specials and awesome food! Kelsay workplace gets catering from there often and she suggested we grab it for lunch one day since I haven't had it before. I ordered the chicken tips platter, that comes with perfectly seasoned chicken tips, Greek salad rice and honey mustard. It comes in at about $10 and it's a hefty lunch plate... the chicken is seasoned perfectly and honestly doesn't even need the honey mustard but it's nice to have. Kelsay ordered the Italy at Greek Boys, which is penne pasta in a light cream sauce with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and chicken. The sauce was a bit watery, but the flavors were on point. Man this is gonna be a go to spot for lunch if I'm downtown wanting a little bit of Greek food. Met my high school classmate and teammate down here for lunch. Great choice! The menu is simple and decent price (I had steak and chicken) and the portions are just enough to leave you comfortable and not sleepy when it's time to go back to work. The feta cheese was great but 2 cherry tomatoes and 2 black olives on a bed of white lettuce. I could see if it was a side salad but no, this was a lunch entree. Overall I had a good experience with Greek Boys. I ordered online and went in to pick up the food. I ordered the crab cake platter and two orders of fries. When I got to the restaurant, I saw they had salmon, which i would have chosen if I had found it online. None the less, I went ahead and ordered it for lunch tomorrow. The place was packed inside and out so I knew I could trust my decision eating here. It was clean and had a nice aesthetic. It's a bit small so it reminded me of smaller diners in big cities, which I like. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Now for the food. My crab cake was wonderful...I got stabbed with a little tiny piece of crab shell in the roof of my mouth, but it's a mild inconvenience because it was all so tasty. The greek salad that accompanied the crab cake was soo good. I love feta cheese! I went ahead and tasted the salmon so I could write this review. Very yummy! I'm going to be a happy camper come lunch tomorrow. Now for the fries, my only real complaint, they were like 3 bucks and I got 10 fries...yes, I counted. Wayyy overpriced and not seasoned at all. I have had the chicken and the beef soulvaki! I prefer the chicken. It is delicious. I have even removed the meat to warm it up and stuff it back in the pita to eat it and it is still great. They deliver to my job, so that makes me not have to deal with the parking thing that I hear so often. One day, I called to place a lunch order, and I was turned away because of the amount of orders. I was a bit upset about this, but I just called another place. Well, to my surprise, I received a call from the manager who apologized and told me that I shouldn't have been denied service because of the amount of orders that they had....that was their issue and not mine. I appreciated the gesture and told her that I had already placed another order. She apologized and offer me some things to compensate, of which I denied them all because it was a simple mistake. I used to go here regularly when I worked downtown and I love it so much I'm still willing to fight for a parking space to grab a gyro! Parking is a bit difficult during the lunch rush but there are lots of meters around... you just might have to drive around the block a couple of times to find something. The chicken gyro is delicious. The sauce is DEVINE! I get 2 cups so I can dip my fries in it too. The baklava is nice and they also have other sweet treats. The staff is always friendly and I also like that they have a separate pick up window so if you call ahead then you don't have to wait in the line! (It does get packed at lunch so I'd suggest heading over a little before noon or waiting until 1:30ish.) It might be a bit of hassle to get to but it's well worth it for a quality lunch! read more

This place gets very busy for lunch downtown on Sumter st. so you must get here early unless you like standing while eating. Really dig the fish like Mahi mahi and grouper fried or grilled both suit me well depending on how healthy I want to eat. Don't really care for the fries or the side options like fries and salad something or other. So I ordered hummus to go along with my meal every time. DO NOT PATRON GREEK BOYS, A MUST READ EVERYONE!! I entered Greek Boys Restaurant and stood next in line to make my order, when it became my turn to order, the worker rudely told me I needed to get to the back of the line because the other people (white customers) were ahead of me. That was my clue then to leave, but I didn't. Next, I saw the same worker ask the white patrons if they wanted something to drink due to the wait. I was standing there and was not asked if I wanted a drink and I also had to wait for the rice. Let it be known, I do not need a free drink, it's more of the principle. Lastly, when the other patron's food was ready, he was given his food with an apology for the wait, I was handed my food and then the worker walked away. To top things off, my food had no oil on the salad, and the rice was extremely salty, made my head hurt, but that is okay, (though I wonder if this was done intentionally). The most traumatic part, to add insult to injury, when I told management of the possible racial slights, he got angry and jumped in my face as if he was going to fight me, yelling he has so many percentage of Black patrons and he is not prejudice. Well, I didn't say he was, I was talking about how I was treated by one of his employees, he didn't listen to me, immediately became aggressive, extremely aggressive, and defended his employee. So aggressive he got in my face and bumped my chest, pointed his fingers in my face. Let me add, the patron that witnessed the monstrosity informed, he too saw that I was ahead of him in line and was treated horribly. In addition, as he was yelling at me said, "You know what you are", I firmly stated, "Yes, a black woman"!! Our black dollars matter, especially in restaurants. Both sandwiches lacked fullness (a few shrimp and cold gyro slices), not what one would expect from a Greek styled restaurant. Use to come here a lot back in the day when I was still working downtown. Use to love it every time, great food with service speeds that matched the crowd. However, my latest visit was not on point. Ordered a gyro. Service was slow ordering and it seemed to take awhile despite the place only being about 20 full in the middle of lunch on a sunny weekday. So about that gyro. Not sure what the meat was, I always assume it's lamb, but this was some kind of grey overcooked flavorless meat. For reference, I just cooked lamb burger the day before and had a fresh reference for how ground lamb should taste, this was not it. Was loaded with onions, I like onions but that was about it with some lettuce. Was missing any type of sauce. I use to come here almost exclusively for the fries. I remember them being well cooked and seasoned just right. But what I got wasn't what I remembered. They were certainly undercooked and bland. No salt or seasoning of any kind. Definitely disappointing, I know it hasn't been an easy year and I hope they get it figured out and back on track. However, today was not the day. read more

We were looking for a fresh, healthier lunch and Greek Boys hit the spot. Pretty solid greek food is being served up here. Greek Boys seems to be a lighter spin on the genre than some of the heavier, greasier, street cart inspired greek places that have risen to popularity lately. My boyfriend and I tried Greek Boys for the first time yesterday. We went meatless since it was Ash Wednesday and just got the Greek Salads. We weren't that impressed with the salads - seemed pretty simple (iceberg lettuce, couple of cherry tomatoes, a couple Greek olives, and a few peppercini peppers). This is your mediocre downtown lunch spot. I stopped in while waiting for my room to the Marriott to be ready. It was 7 minutes until 3pm and the place closes at 3pm so I politely asked if the kitchen was still open. The lady at the take out register gazed at the clock and then gave a very displeased yes. I offered that I could go somewhere else but she asked what I wanted without providing a menu. I should have left but I ordered a burger and fries to go. Meanwhile, while waiting forever for my order, another lady wondered in and asked if she could order. The response was, "We closed at 3 but what would you like?" Mind you...it was ten after 3pm. I finally received my order. For all of the positive comments for this place all I can say is my burger was meh and the fries were blah even though they were fresh. Greek Boys is a nice little restaurant. I recommend the Beef or Chicken Tips Platter. You get nice portions at a good price for lunch. The counter service is speedy! Parking can be a bit problematic since it's right downtown, and the place can get a bit crowded. When I go, I try to avoid that by going around 11:00 AM or 1:30 PM. They are only open between 10 AM and 3 PM on Monday through Friday, so don't get the idea to grab dinner here. read more

I ordered a take-out gyro and greek salad. The salad dressing is applied to the salad prior to you receiving the take out order so that your salad is soggy. If you do not request a separate container for your salad it will come inside your warm food container and will be warm. The lettuce I was given was brown. They gyro does not contain the traditional tzatziki sauce that would be on a gyro. Very dissapointed. Low quality for the price. read more
