We have driven by Zorn's many time and finally checked it out when I got a gift card. It did not disappoint! Just a heads up - I tried calling ahead but they said they only take order aheads for large orders (there was a minimum pricing) so we just went in person and it was seamless. The menu is huge and there are so many options. We ordered the chicken wings, Mac and cheese x 2 and corn bread. Love how the chicken comes with sides. All the sides are already made and the chicken is made to order so it comes fresh! They have fresh apple pies which I regret not getting and also seasonings to buy too. The chicken was DELICIOUS and I could eat more of that Mac and cheese anytime! They also have a refrigerated section is your need a quick grab and go or wanted more prepackaged sides! I picked up a 24 pound roasted turkey and 5 pounds of stuffing this past Saturday for a Friendsgiving I was hosting. It was my first time ever stepping foot into a Zorn's of Bethpage and to be honest, they even exceeded my expectations just days prior when I first called in to place the order. I was blown away by the patience, professionalism and neighborly vibes excluded by all the employees I interacted with. All of my friends were absolutely wow'd by the turkey. It was piping hot, skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was moist. I couldn't have cooked it better myself! I remember years ago there were more Zorn's locations on LI, including one in East Meadow. Sad that the Bethpage one is the only one I know of now. I don't come to Zorns too often but I got a family meal with some friends last year and the food was pretty solid. I came back recently as I saw there was a 'Best of Long Island' (BOLI) special that the website was advertising for $15 that seemed like a solid deal. The place itself was pretty clean and organized inside, with lots of stuff packaged to go. I took my meal to go as well. I got the 'BOLI' special ($15) that came with 1/4 chicken (I chose white meat vs dark), 2 ribs, and 2 sides. I got potato salad and penne a la vodka as my sides. There was a minor hiccup when I went to check out as the cashier lady wasn't aware of the special and thought the price was wrong, but she got confirmation that the special was legit and it was fine. The meal came out to $16.28 with tax included. I got home and was impressed by the food. The potato salad tasted like it was very freshly prepared and was very solid. Potatoes had a nice firm texture and the potato salad tasted very crisp. I was worried that the pasta would be soggy, but it was not and the penne a la vodka was also excellent. The 2 ribs that I got were both huge and had a lot of meat of them. The ribs tasted like the bbq sauce was put on after they were cooked, which I'm not the biggest fan of. The bbq sauce was also a little too sweet for my tastes. But I still very much enjoyed the ribs and loved how big and meaty they were. The fried chicken was also very solid. White meat was not dry and the fried flavoring of the chicken was very on point. And the meal overall was pretty huge; more than enough food for one person. For context, I think Zorn's food sits solidly on top of the better fast food chains, like Popeyes. So I enjoyed my meal overall and was very full. I think the only thing I'd critique would be the standard pricing, which seems a bit high in my opinion. To be fair, I saw a few lunch specials advertised on Zorn's website as well, such as a fish sandwich meal for $9 + tax, which seems good. I checked out some of the to go items, and some items such as mac salad and potato salad in fairly small containers were around $9, which seemed high to me. Excellent little spot. Im always game to try any place that has been in the cooking business for 85yrs. My mom brought me to try it, she used to come to Zorns as a little girl in the 1950s. The food did have an old time style feel to it. I think this is what Boston Market tried to capture, they didn't last 85yrs though... All of the staff were so friendly and nice. All of the food we tried was great. Business was very clean. They cater, dine in, take out, and its a little grocery store. We may get one of their fresh turkeys for Thanksgiving. read more

On a recent visit to see my children and grandchildren, we got takeout one night from Zorn's, a Long Island staple (since 1940) for fried or rotisserie chicken, although they also serve turkey and ribs. We got a family dinner of skinless fried chicken and rotisserie chicken, along with mac & cheese, string bean medley (with carrots), mashed cauliflower, and stuffing. The chicken was very tasty, but the standout for me was the mashed cauliflower. I LOVED that... lots of flavor and a great way to serve the cauliflower. Everything was enjoyable. They have many different side dishes to choose from. I'd like to try different side dishes next time just to see... but one of them will definitely be a repeat of the cauliflower. :-) read more

We love Zorn's! This is the OG location and has a ton of charm in addition to great food. They've been around since 1940 and were pioneers in take out meals and catering. They are still a family owned business and while they completely renovated in 2019 the decor inside pays tribute to the rich tradition of Zorn's on Long Island which pictures and memorabilia from over 80 years of serving the best chicken and turkey on Long Island. They have generously large portions and the meals include two sides of which they have over 15 to choose from. Some of my favorites are the creamed spinach, mashed cauliflower, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and Mac n cheese. The rotisserie chicken is amazing and always hard to choose between it and their famous skinless southern fried chicken. And going back to their origins selling chickens and turkeys to this day you can still buy fresh poultry at Zorn's. Most of their business is takeout but they do have plenty of booths inside to enjoy your food and lots of outdoor seating as well during the warmer months. read more

This is my second time at Zorns, the first was when I moved to the area about 5 years ago, I don't remember what I got but I wasn't impressed, I didn't leave a review because everyone is allowed to have a bad day. So fast forward 5 years and I have Deja vu. Best way to describe it is unimpressive. Chicken is dry, the ribs aren't tender and whatever sauce they're in is so so so sweet. Delicious skinless fried chicken and all the sides (Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and stuffing) were excellent. Chicken: I tried a breast and a leg. For whatever reason the breast coating had a lot more flavor so I enjoyed it more. The breast was Juicy. The only thing I didn't love was the cornbread. The service was super friendly and helpful. We have been going to Zorn's on and off for years. The food is always consistently delicious and a good value. The fried chicken and rotisserie chicken are juicy. The sides are also good. We like the mashed or roast potatoes, creamed spinach, cauliflower and tonight I had very good cole slaw. Not a big fan of the plain veggies but are good if you're looking to keep things lighter. We stopped eating meat but went back to eating meat on occasion and Zorns is on that list. We don't do as much take-out because so many places have raised their prices and lowered their quality. I stopped here with my wife for nostalgic reasons. I used to go in with my dad to get a tub of chicken & sides for dinner when I was a kid and hadn't been there in decades. What a mistake, its way over priced for what you get. I got a quarter chicken that looked like it came off a pigeon and the overall quality of everything was just eh. I spent $50 for 2 for lunch and when I asked for a small "to go" container they wanted to charge me another $1 (fifty cents for the lid & fifty for the container) lol. Still a customer after so many years, but disappointed I feel they've slipped a notch for a few reasons. Some long time employees no longer here, and turnover in employees is causing slower service. Cutting corners on sides, for instance, the steamed veggies now is mostly string beans and carrots, they removed the broccoli and cauliflower. Wtf happened to Zorn's! So dissatisfied! Just arrived from Florida to visit my kids for the 4th of July week. They live in Bethpage and I was looking forward to great Zorn's meal since I was a Long Island resident for many decades. Last night I bought a 12 pcs meal and 4 sides it was just horrible. Chicken was dry burnt no taste at all. Sides Mac & cheese watery cream spinach was awful vegetable mix tasteless carrots and beans sweet potatoes good as well as apple sauce . Overall this is not the Zorn's that was my go to place for decades. Don't know what has happened for this drastic change in quality. This is the first time that I have come here in over a decade. It is easily accessible because it is off Route 135 and near the Bethpage Parkway. The lines move fast in this establishment, but you have to take a number. The place is clean, and the service is superb. I ordered the baked chicken stuffed with sausage stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes and oven roasted potatoes. It was too much to eat at one sitting, so I am saving the remainder for leftovers tomorrow and the next day. My meal cost about $15, which I consider a bargain. It was low sodium though, and they did not have any salt packets to give out. I do not need it though because I have high blood pressure.
