    Best Cuban sandwich in town
    Susie C.

Coming from queens I found it difficult to find good ethnic food. I had this bookmarked on yelp for a bit, but unfortunately wasn't able to try it for months as they're only available by me on Fridays. When I finally did get to try their cuban sandwich, it gave me some hope for long island. So far I've had the cuban sandwich, bioled yuca, and tres leches. All highly recommended.

Was excited to try this spot out as we have no real good Cuban sandwiches near me. Sadly they were out of a few things so I only was able to get a cubano. The sandwich was assembled poorly, I could not taste any mustard, barely any pickle. The sandwich also looked burnt but it wasn't, it just looked like it was pressed on a dirty plancha. Overall I think this food could be great if it was assembled with a little more thought and care. Balance is essential in making a sandwich!

Their food, service and hospitality has been always been five star. So when something is so good why change, just expand. We visit the Huntington location quite often. We start with Pina Coladas and Cuba Libre (rum and coke), for appetizers the chorizo and tamales. While there is an assortment of meats, fish and chicken, our favorite is the ropa veija, tender shredded beef in a wonderful sauce with the best steamed white rice and of course madoros. Another hit of ours is the breaded steak and my new favorite, the broiled flounder. Our next dish will be the paella. Just need to call ahead. The Flan, Tres Leches cake and Cuban coffee is always a good ending. The service is always top notch. Red and white table cloths. A bar area with a separate dining area. You may even be lucky to catch a unique celebration song and dance by one of the staff. Make sure you have your camera ready. And a special thank you to Raul. The last time we were there, I tried a new dish that was good, but not something that enjoyed. Don't you know it, Raul surprised me and sent me home with a serving of Ropa Vieja. Thank you Raul.

Ropa Vieja and the pernil are my go to's and they are on point. Service is also above board. The good : Overall food was good, we ordered empanadas (shrimp and beef ) they tasted really good with the accompanied chimichurri sauce . We got our boys skirt steaks with fries and my wife and I had to half chickens and pernil respectively . Their mojitos are really good but unfortunately, they didn't have lemonade (soda ) so we ended up paying. $6 each for kid sized house made lemonade which was kinda a waste as my older didn't like it and I didn't want to bother sending it back . The bad: I am taking off a star because we had to wait a long time to get our check. I had asked for the check and a doggy bag, but had to flag my waiter down again to remind him to bring my check. Apparently the kids eat free special has to be approved by a manager . It felt like we waited 15-20 minutes till we got our check , by that time my kids were extremely irritated and my wife was pissed off. I know it's not the waiters fault but the restaurant wasn't that busy and I can't see why they couldn't have gotten this taken care of earlier . Sadly because of this incident, my wife does not want to come back here anymore knowing it takes forever to check out .

Loving it as finding a parking spot is way easier aside from the fact that it has its own parking lot. Yay to that! When we walked in, sat down and served... They kept all their original decorations , picture frames, table sets and was nice feeling to see it all here. Food still good, music is pleasant to the ears , service is impeccable. What they offer include the slow-roasted pernil, rich Ropa Vieja, and the Cuban sandwich. Portions are generous, the cocktails (like mojitos and sangria) are excellent, and the lively atmosphere makes it a great spot for both casual dining and celebrations. They offer rich, comforting, and authentic Cuban flavors. Diners love the slow-roasted pork (pernil) and Ropa Vieja, which melt in your mouth. If you want something lighter, the Cubano sandwich on Long Island is frequently cited as a destination-worthy staple. The space feels warm and family-run, as what I may describe as stepping into an "abuela's house". The staff is highly attentive and offers great menu recommendations. It tends to get packed--especially on weekend evenings--but the lively vibe (including staff-led birthday songs) adds to the charm. I note that the pricing is moderate and reasonable for the high quality and generous portion sizes, frequently allowing diners to take home leftovers.

Our waitress was responsive to whatever we needed. The prices are a little high for the portion size, but the food is great quality. My vinho verde was a nice size pour. My husband loved the Iberian ham here. We both had the garlic shrimp which were very well flavored but unfortunately didn't have even one garlic clove, which was disappointing and there were only 6 shrimp. The olive oil they were in was great though and we dipped our food into it and they were perfectly cooked. The paella is supposed to be for 2-4 people which I can see if you have more tapas but we finished it off. It came with a healthy amount of shrimp, grilled calamari and chorizo and was perfectly seasoned. We also appreciated how the rice was a bit crispy and not mushy. The table next to ours ordered what appeared to be a very good looking fruit cobbler of some kind but we were too stuffed for dessert. They also have a weekday happy hour before 6pm that looks good with deals on booze. Really enjoyed this spot! Conveniently located in the middle of garden city with ample free parking.
