Z's is a family favorite for ice cream. It is a local, small business that has really turned out some amazing, unique ice cream flavors. ie Lucky Charms, Maple Pancakes etc..... Tonight I went to Z's for their phenomenal peach sundae. I had it last year and it was amazing. They do not have it yet on the menu. However; tonight I had their special strawberry shortcake with no strawberries on it , until I told them there was none on the ice cream. They then gave me a whopping 3 quartered up strawberries. On the northern boundary of Hinckley and southern border of North Royalton at the southeast corner of Boston Road and West 130th Street sits Z's Cream & Bean. This area is great for outdoor recreation, and Z's is the place to rejuvenate your energy sources with ample choices, seating, & parking. Z's has a café style and casual cabin character. Everything shouts new, clean, pleasant experience for any couples, families, or groups of friends. Z's has so many options to choose from, but it's not overwhelming. The service is helpful and happy. We tried Z's Homemade Raspberry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, which was flavorful, luscious, and rich. Z's Expresso Chocolate Shakes were deliciously easy to down, reinvigorating, and smooth. Z's Vanilla Rootbeer Floats were made with Z's creamy, sweet Homemade Vanilla and tasty A & W Root Beer. Everything was presented well. I would recommend scanning the freezers filled with Z's ice cream pints or quarts and cakes or cookies, if you don't find your particular selection behind the counter. I would even recommend taking a pint or quart to go, if you dine in to savor only some coffee or soups. On this trip, our family of 4 had several frozen treats all for under $25. Always a great place but six bucks for a sundae, it was good but won't get it again that's too steep. All I ordered was a brownie sundae,it was not gigantic just normal size.Love how this establishment is locally owned and in a great location. Sadly I feel certain items on the menu are a rip off and not worth the $. I see other customers have has the same issues. Horrible, horrible service. Been here before, and the ice cream is OK, but not as good as Honey Hut and way overpriced. Came in on a Sunday night tonight and went through the drive thru in search of a hot fudge sundae. Asked for Ohio ice cream (aka Moosetracks), but was told they were out of it. I was offered no alternatives, as I was obviously an impediment to the server doing nothing. I looked closer at the menu to find an ice cream they had on hand. Had to drive ahead to a small piece of paper that was taped to the beautiful digital menus which listed their ice creams they had in stock. I find it ironic that the menu that doesn't change is on 50" TV displays, but the menu that does change is tucked away on a piece of paper that you have to drive up to, and then back up to the speaker to order. Decided I would have a medium hot fudge sundae with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, but before I could get to the word 'sundae' I was rudely told WE ONLY HAVE LARGE AND SMALL. click. I'm done with this, and I told the stupid crack the same. Again, she remained unphased, as now a hindrance in her otherwise quiet night had eradicated itself from the situation. Ended up going to Regos and buying ice cream and making my own hot fudge sauce, which was better than this dump could have ever dished out. read more

They're situated at Bennetts Corners where the four cities meet and serve a sundae named for each. On my first visit I ordered the 'Hungry Hornet' despite being a Blue Devil alumni. Their ice cream is made on-site and their vanilla is brought in from Madagascar. Now, I'm no vanilla expert but I do know good ice cream when I taste it. And this is excellent ice cream. Z's easily competes with the likes of Honey Hut or East Coast. But guess what Z's has that the others don't? Give up? A very large and clean inside staffed with attentive and friendly employees! As a Clevelander, I tend to get tunnel vision when it comes to my ice cream, although there really are a number of great shops in the area aside from the big M to get your ice cream fix. Z's offers a variety of ice creams both hand dipped and soft serve, along with Milk Shakes and sundaes (all aptly named after surrounding high school mascots). The "bean" in Cream & Bean notes their espresso offerings as well, but I can't comment on that just yet, as I didn't try one, but I understand that they use a local roaster and premium quality beans, so it's on my list of things to try. Z's Bean & Cream is a nice departure from the usual Cleveland standby, and definitely takes a spot on my list of ice cream stops. read more

I have tried several times to like the different types of coffee this place offers but every time I just end up throwing it away. The Mocha has WAY too much chocolate and even when they put less in for me it was still to much! Maybe they need a better quality chocolate? So I tried a regular latte and the syrup is just as bad. I went here over the weekend with my parents. They had heard about this place from somebody (couldn't remember who) and it was a warm Saturday night so we thought we'd give it a try. First of all, I was impressed by the building. It was a huge and nice space. They said they were open for 7 years but the space looked new. When we had gotten there a live band was finishing up. We heard they also have karaoke there if you're a fan. They have a smaller selection of ice creams (maybe 10-15 total) but we were told they are all made fresh at the store daily and in small batches. They even have vegan ice cream if you need it. I ordered the Pumpkin ice cream, and my parents got the Ohio (buckeye) ice cream and mint chocolate chip. I only ordered one scoop and was shocked how big it was! It was SO good though. They also have coffee and soups in the winter on the menu. Everyone working there was super friendly and the owner even spent time talking with us. I'd highly recommend this spot! read more

While they don't have the sheer number of flavors of some place they still have a solid selection. And every one we've tried has been as good if not better than their competitors. Had to get the Buzzard w/ Cookie Dough and Reeses Pieces. This is easily my new favorite ice cream spot in NE Ohio. I love you, Sweet Moses, and everything you're going for but when it comes to straight up richness and flavor in their ice cream, this place wins hands down. The freaky drive through "barn" was a little intimidating and confusing at first, but once you realize you are not about to get a car wash if you enter, it's a pretty nice and shaded setup for taking time to look over the drive-through menu. read more

Hopped on the motorcycle and went for a ride, so i figured I would check out Z's which is getting some good press. Located pretty far out on Boston Road near W. 130th is Z's with a very nice and big store. They clearly spent some time and money building this place. Inside is very warm and welcoming, a large dining area surrounds the counter. You can get coffee, soft serve ice cream or homemade hard ice cream. Although they don't have a huge selection of flavors, they do have some unique flavors. I sampled the kettlecorn and had a cup of the dark chocolate and the maple and pancake ice creams. The portion size is large, which justifies the cost of a double. The ice cream has a wonderfully balanced base, smooth and creamy with a good mouth feel. The kettlecorn was a nice representation of a flavor that should be hard to make into an ice cream. The maple was very flavorful with nice chunks of pancake. The dark chocolate was very rich, not as loaded with cocoa as some I have had, but very smooth and satisfying. Overall Z's does a great job with its ice cream and is well worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

I seriously hate that I live within walking distance of this place. Because it's so awesome my diet doesn't stand a chance. Been here several times now. It's always clean, the staff is always super-friendly, and everything I've tried has been delicious. I've not gotten a latte or cappuccino yet, but they have a really good iced coffee...actually iced, not just regular-strength hot coffee poured over ice. My daughter absolutely loves stopping in here for a treat after gymnastics. The owner gave her a gummy bear and this was everything to her! However, there was an older lady there last week who doesn't blend with the small business hospitality that usually works here. She was clearly irritated our kids asked for a sample before placing an order. She was irritated we asked a question about the menu. She almost angrily interrupted us repeatedly while trying to place an order. This left our kids feeling very unwelcome and about broke our daughters heart because this was a special place to her.
