Had this guy repla e a motor for my garage and has had issues with the door getting hung up from time to time not being able to close the door. Tried contacting him MANY MANY TIMES and he ig ores my calls and messages. Sad to see local people ripping other paying local customers off. I WOULD NEVER Recommend this guy at all!!! read more

I call ZS for an estimate, he arrived promptly, gave me a quote, looked around and see that I do some hobby carpentry and told me he could do it myself and and told me what to order. I mean, who does that? I had called several other garage door installers and some even showed up. I think I got 1 actual in-writing quote from a company for alot of schmeckles. ZS's price was reasonable, I ordered the doors via Home Depot (not a great experience) and 10 weeks later it was eventually delivered. The Clopay instructions are super confusing, if you order a custom size door, low headroom kit, and garage door opener kit it comes with 5 sets of instructions (2 were duplicates, with slightly different font) and I almost gave in several times and called ZS to come in and finish the job. Youtube videos help alot. After one near fatal horizontal track drop, a bunch of cursing, 3 trips to the hardware store for the wrong and then correct angle iron and bolts, after a week of work by myself its nearly done. While I didnt actually use their services, it was nice that he told me: 1) What to order 2) Advice on the timeliness of the order via HD 3) A decent quote on the installation. If I wasnt stingy, it would have been installed in a day by real professionals. If that horizontal track had fallen 3 inches to the right, this would be my wife's review on a mortuary. read more

Zak folks were terrific: had a broken garage door spring, and they were able to come over very quickly not only to replace it but also performed some mx on our old garage door opener that made it operate more smoothly and quietly than it has in years. Zach was friendly and knowledgeable when I asked him about the previous installer who decided to use two different size springs. He recommended to go with a matching spring set and would tune if necessary. He was able to repair garage door due to failed torsion spring. The shorter spring snapped and the longer one had 10 turns on a 7'6 door. He also swapped out a hingle at no cost and took extra time to adjust the rails till it met his expectations. Now we have a properly tuned garage door with upgraded matching spring set. It's definitely better then when it was first installed. Thank you Zach! Will send more business your way! read more

Wow, if I could give 10 stars I would! This is what excellent customer service looks like. I called and Zach said he could swing by after his last job that day to assess my garage door. He did as he said and told me what was needed to fix the door. He provided a couple of different options, which I really appreciated. I asked when he could do it and he told me he would check his schedule when he got home, but also said he might be able to squeeze me in and fix it the next day if someone was going to be home. (I'm retired so it wasn't a problem.) He came out the next morning and did a fantastic job. He is such a nice young man who is very pleasant to talk with and is very knowledgeable about this business. He knew right away what was wrong with my old door, and provided me with easy to understand details about it. They were available on Sunday (my garage springs had broke the night before) at no extra charge. They were very professional and worked around the mess in my garage. They were very knowledgeable and replaced the springs with one more suitable to my garage door (instead of relying on what had been installed previously). 6 STARS! Really Great Service and Quality of Work. Responded immediately to my phone call inquiry. Zach had answers to questions and could provide a solid quote when he looked at the problem. My problem was a broken spring, from start to finish he removed the old spring, installed new matching springs, adjusted the balance and the Door motor, oiled up all the rollers and replaced a couple of rollers. Very professional, neat, organized and fast, he completed everything in about an hour. All this and really reasonable cost, to me, worth far more. Well experienced, he could make recommendations and determine if I needed a new door or still use the current one for a little while more. He gave insight to any future problems and how to maintain what we have. Amazing, he could make a "not-so-great" event and turn it around into making you happy to have met a great contractor. Awesome service today from ZS Overhead Doors. I have an older craftsman garage door opener that had become stuck and wouldn't budge. When I called today Zac was actually in my area and had it fixed within the hour. Yes, within an hour of my call. I realize I was lucky that he was close by but that is crazy good service. I should also mentioned that after he fixed the opener he took a little extra time to do some preventative maintenance tightening up the door, rails, and track. When he was done it not only works but is significantly quieter and opens smoother than it has in years. All for a reasonable price. No wonder he has 5 Stars. He deserves it! read more

Here's the scenario: Garage door won't open. We press the garage opener, hear the motor running but the door isn't opening. It's Sunday and it's around 1pm. My hubby says, "No one will be open, it's Sunday." Talk about a gloomy scenario... But as usual, I trust Yelp Nation (I mean, why wouldn't I)...and I found a new-ish option where I could Request a Quote. I scrolled through and read through a few options. One stood out for me: ZS Overhead Doors. What got me was they had "Fast Responder" listed for their response time. And if you know me and want things done yesterday, this is the garage door fixing company for you! To make a long story short, instead of requesting a quote, we decided to call for help. Our garage door opener looks like it was installed in the early 1900's - we moved into our house 2 years ago and have just dealt with the old tech - until it started acting funky. It eventually died last week and I had to open and close the door manually for a couple days. Yesterday, we searched around a little bit for someone who could come service/replace the unit and Zach was communicative & swift - above all, extremely nice! Zach & his partner showed up within 24 hours of first contact and was able to replace the old unit with a brand new Smart Garage door overhead unit on the spot! It took them about 2 hours, but only because they had to drill into concrete and work around all of the hoarder-status things in my garage. They replaced the sensors and the main chain track. To top it all off, they went above and beyond and were able to tweak the tracks and oil the rollers to open and closer smoother. The garage door is virtually silent now. The new unit they installed is a smart garage and I can now control it with my phone, my existing Ring security unit and even linked it to my Amazon account so deliveries can be safely be put into my garage and not get rained on! Not only did I get the cheapest quote out of the 4 places I checked, he told me he'd be able to drive out after he finished up a job in Nuuanu to Waipio in afternoon traffic! Called ZS Overhead Doors this morning (Sunday) at 830am. Zac arrived by 9am. Unfortunately, I had a different type of spring- not a problem, Zac just needed to get some other parts. Zac was back by 950am with the necessary items to remedy the situation. By 1050am, the door was fixed and fully functional. Extraordinary service! This company deserves a medal for responding so quickly to our call on a Sat. night and for arriving in the middle of a huge rainstorm to fix our garage door on Sunday. They brought all the right equipment needed and diligently informed us of what they were doing. My husband heard a huge crash after closing the garage door and we were locked out, couldn't even see if the Porsche (his dream car) was OK. Zach & Michelle had the door open in minutes and got huge thanks for protecting it. They replaced the belt, cables, two torsion springs, fixed the angle of the metal supports, all on a Sunday. Rental unit's garage door stopped working, used Yelp to find help, found Zach and another 5 star vendor with more ratings. Called the other vendor first (fell into the rating quantity trap), but no reply even after a few calls. Called Zach, he got his team to the rental the next day. Zach and team diagnosed the problem, emailed me photos, provided options, and made it seamless for me to manage even though I'm on the mainland.
