I really appreciate the one-stop scheduling for house, pest, radon, and sewer inspection but the house inspector didn't turn off one of the ovens which, because the house was unoccupied, wasn't discovered until three days later when the casita smelled of gas. Zsasko apologized, took responsibility, and even tried to remedy. Also be prepared for more inspections, for example, the Zasko sewer inspector could see a blockage but was completely wrong about the direction of the sewer line which was only discovered when we called out an actual sewer inspection/cleaning company. read more

I found Istvan Zasko to be non-communicative and difficult to work with. I had a brief conversation with him and he agreed to do a building phase inspection. This is not a typical home inspection where an inspector comes in *after* a home is built to inspect what is in the completed home. Rather it was to inspect the framing, windows, electrical systems, plumbing, duct work etc., during the home-building process and *before* drywall was installed. Istvan said he was the only individual in his business qualified to do a construction phase inspection. I asked him to check to see if the builder had addressed the issues called out in an earlier inspection and to inspect any new items that were added since the previous inspection. He agreed to do this. We were to talk again prior to the inspection so I could provide more specifics about what I wanted, however Istvan failed to contact me even after I left multiple messages over a few days. Consequently, I had no idea if he would even show up. Everything was to be dry-walled the following day and if he failed to show, there would be no 2nd inspection to check on the builder's work. He did show up, but not without causing me a great deal of worry and concern. The 1st inspector was quite thorough. He combed the framework starting at one end of the home while moving carefully from one room to the next, and eventually to the other end of the home, taking notes and observing as he went. He pointed out multiple problems with the framing and other items that had not been installed correctly. After Istvan told me he had done the inspection, I asked if he went through the list and inspected each problem called out by the previous inspector. He said he had only spot checked the work the builder work. How does one know if a builder has made all of the corrections if the inspector only spot checks the work? Istvan said it would take too long and anyway, he "really wasn't qualified to do that kind of inspection". REALLY? This is quite different from what he said in our first conversation. At this point I was quite angry and regretted hiring him. The builders' had neglected to secure the framing appropriately in several places and Istvan's spot checking to see if the corrections were made was completely inadequate and could have compromised the safety of the home. The builder came the following day and covered up all of the framing with drywall, making it impossible to ever know if all the corrections had been made without doing a tear-down. read more

Company office assistants are very rude and don't know what they are talking about when providing information on policies. They automatically default to "you're wrong and I'm right" instead of helping the paying customer. Inspector was very nice and thorough. He was very detail oriented when making his report. He even said he would come back to double check minor repairs. Never mentioned an additional price. I found out later he wouldn't go back unless I paid that additional charge. read more
