Had great breakfasts for 3 days. We had a breakfast burrito and fresh made omelet. Each were great. This morning I tried Johnny's "morning Rueben" with egg, corned beef, Swiss cheese, and hash browns. This was great as well. We'll definitely go back when we're in town. Service was great. read more

The food here is excellent and fresh and the staff are very friendly. They have three different menus, breakfast, deli, and cafe. I believe the cafe menu is only available in the late afternoon/evening. There are also seating at the front of the shop. I had the chicken caprese sandwich and the flan. The flan was delicious, best one I had! It was very creamy and the fresh berries that comes with it complimented it well! The chicken caprese sandwich was also very good. This mom and pop shop is incredible. We've ordered to go here a bunch of times (I'd heavily recommend the steak sandwich or their Portuguese breakfast burrito with pico) and the food is consistently great. The father daughter duo in here were kind and service was friendly, respectful, and quick. The inside is very relaxed and is just the quiet, casual ambiance I was looking for. Pastries are phenomenal (Pasteis de Nata were literally on par with some of the best I've had in Portugal) sandwiches are fresh with quality ingredients, people are genuine. What more could you ask for?? We've tried many places many times in Stamford. The verdict: Purple Stars is the best deli in Stamford. read more

WOW! We were hosting a dinner for 13 teenage boys at our house and couldn't have done it without Johnny. We called him the day before and when I asked what was on the menu, he said "anything." Literally, he can do anything! The meal was delicious. The boys were well fed. Johnny worked with my timing so that I picked it up while the meal was still hot (despite the deli closing at 3). I honestly can't say enough great things about our experience. We now look forward to going to the deli to grab sandwiches soon. read more

My favorite deli!! All the food is fresh and super tasty. I usually get breakfast sandwiches but my favorite menu item besides breakfast has to be the buffalo wrap . Lovely deli in a neighborhood that desperately needed one. My only gripe is that they need to rotate a few items on the menu or more aggressively advertise newer items and specials that they offer. The absolute best deli in Stamford! It's such a cute little cozy spot, the parking can be a little tricky but it's worth it. The owners are super friendly and some of the hardest working people I've met. Everything is made fresh and taste amazing.
