ZuCot Gallery was such a great place to experience. I love that their goal is to provide art from living African American Artists. They also make the pieces obtainable for new collectors and art enthusiasts. My favorite thing is EVERY SATURDAY FROM 12NOON-6PM you can visit the gallery for FREE! Definitely check out ZuCot Art Gallery if you have an opportunity. The Gallery supports artists of color and also serves as a great event space. I stopped by for a holiday party. The event was great. There was a good station, a dj, drinks downstairs and upstairs, and enough space for a selfie station. Great spaces for sitting, mingling, and dancing. The art itself was unique as well. Mixed media. Great stories being told. Always nice to support local. Parking is free and plentiful in 330 Chapel the deck attached to the building. read more

I went to a private event at ZuCot gallery and was highly impressed by their exquisite exhibit of work from local black artists. So often black art is overlooked and not displayed at its true value, but this unique selection would certainly challenge that perception. The event was epic and the ambiance was perfect. 10/10 recommend. read more

I attended the ZuCot Art Gallery, 4HUNDRED: Exhibition opening this past Friday. The event was pushed back a week due to it's proximity to the Mercedes Benz stadium during Super Bowl weekend with so many streets closed. February 8 ended up being a beautiful day to have an opening. There were many people that came out for the evening. During my time at the gallery I got a chance to hear a poet perform two pieces which coincided with the art that outlined the walls. The owners spoke to importance of collecting art and the meaning of 4HUNDRED. I would tell you more about the exhibit but I think it's one that you have to go see yourself. Next to various paintings there is a synopsis of what the artist wants you to see and understand. It is well worth your time. read more

I happened upon this gallery while at the 2nd Friday Art Stroll. Nice and spacious 2 level art gallery. I would love to come back and experience it minus all the fanfare of the art stroll. Love the location in the downtown Atlanta art district otherwise known as Castleberry Hill. Can't wait to come back. I would love to host an event here, as there is a parking garage attaches that has free parking if validated by some of the restaurants in that strip. Mainly Smoke Ring. read more

Just what the Atlanta scene needs. They promote black art and I went to in instructional class that explained how to value black art. It was fascinating and the owners of the gallery are so knowledgeable. They explained how black people tend to have more colors in their paintings because colors look more vivid in places closer to the equator, where black people tend to live. They showcase so many great black artists and art that represents the struggle for civil rights. When I was there there, there were some art pieces with Colin Kaepernick, so it is very contemporary in some of its works. It has two floors of arts. Full of black people and it's absolutely inspiring. read more

I am so EXCITED for the 2018 Masquerade Party at Zucot Gallery! I purchased my tickets today! I usually do not go out on NYE but last year, I was invited to attend the Black Tie event at Zucot and I had such an AMAZING time it is the only place that I will bring in the NEW YEAR. Several years ago, Omari Henderson (owner of the gallery) held an art gathering at my home. We both worked for the same company at that time. I had a bunch of friends, coworkers at the gathering. All went well that evening and several art pieces were shown. We also brought in three local artists (including his father, Aaron) a local artist. We had just under 20 guests. It was a great night, however Omari went back to our company the following day and repeated gossip he overheard at the party. It got back to me that afternoon. I understand that some people gossip, however Omari shared information that was potentially damaging to a family in attendance that evening. When I emailed him about it, he refused to acknowledge that he was in the wrong. When I explained to him that he should not have shared/repeated that information, he corrected me and told me that my GUEST should not have said it in the first place. I was stunned and warned him that if he continued to repeat this behavior, it might hurt his business. He assured me it would not and refused to apologize. No one needs to wonder if their guests personal business is being repeated by a business owner. Just because you happen to overhear some gossip does not mean, that as a business owner, you should repeat it! To hear the gossip repeated at my office was embarrassing and completely out of line, yet Omari refused. Although this was several years ago, I never forgot it. What is said in a person's home should stay there - especially a business meeting! Omari was not a friend of mine, nor a business partner. I considered myself to be his CLIENT and as such he acted in a manner that was highly unprofessional and inconsiderate. He just didn't get it and refused to accept it. Our business relationship ended that day. Now I see that it is possible to book an event for his gallery on line. I would caution readers of this review to think twice. Very nice gallery!! I happened upon a social event last Friday during my overnight stay in Atlanta. The gallery was one of the featured businesses. It's a great space in a convenient location. I believe they primarily feature artists of color and had two exhibits at the time. They were both wonderful; but the exhibit that reinterpreted a marriage based on books of the Bible was fantastic. I had the pleasure of speaking with Onaje, one of the owners, who gave me a brief history of the gallery and an overview of a featured artist's vision. Overall, this is a nice gallery and I will happily support when I'm in town. read more

At their New Year's Eve event. It's horrible. Super loud, BAD music. I like music, but this is literally hurting my ears due to the volume and the dj's lack of awareness of how to manage frequencies. Advertised as a VIP event, but the cups are plastic and the wine is from Trader Joe's. The "pass-around hors d'oeuvres" included shrimp and crab cakes, when you get them. Also, there are very few places to sit. DO NOT COME HERE FOR NYE. Not classy. Not professional. Ratchet (the dj's words). read more
