I was super excited to hear about this cafe while on vacation, because i am a huge ube fan and seek it out everywhere I go. I opted for an ube latte (duh), and the Ube Berry Bliss waffle. My husband got a breakfast platter and a pistachio latte. I saw the ube they used to put in the lattes, and I've seen it at my local international market before. My latte wasn't that great, honestly a bit disappointing. My husband said his latte was very subtle and was just okay. He wasn't a huge fan of his breakfast platter, but my waffle was really good! I don't really like blueberries, though. The menu advertised it as multiple types of berries, but oh well. The cafe was very small and super warm inside, but we sat near the television and it was a bit cooler over there. This lovely cafe is literally directly across the street from public beach access in Daytona Shores- I'm talking, we walked 4 minutes to get some coffee & lunch here from our spot on the sand. Couldn't be more perfectly located! Not only that, but it is REALLY good. This ain't no tourist trap type food, it's real and unique and delicious. When we first walked up there were some older geezers who were clearly locals sitting out have their coffee- that's how I knew we were already at the right place. It's super cute inside and they have a big menu. It's kind of mediterranean/ Greek inspired food which is cool. We had to wait awhile for the food but you bet it was worth it. Everything we had was so fresh and top knotch. I tried the caprese sandwich on a bagel and it was loaded with ingredients and flavor. Even the oatmeal came in huge plastic containers full of fruit, brown sugar and other toppings. The coffee hit the mark as well. If you like matcha you'll definitely want to try it here- you can get it flavored too, my friend tried a blueberry matcha that was not too sweet but really well balanced. In Daytona Shores for the day and found Zugba Cafe. As part of Pumpkinquest 25 I had a Pumpkin Frappachino, 2 shots of espresso, pumpkin and cinnamon with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and very light carmel drizzle on top. My friend got a vanilla frappachino, more subtle but the espresso flavor was smooth and delicious. They have homemade pastry and we chose Dubai Chocolate Croissant with a crunchy Pistachio Butter Filing. YUM! Hot day so we ate our lovely snack inside. Small but welcoming seating area with soft jazz playing in the background. Lovely stop on a busy shopping day. Our server,Baba, was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Zugba Cafe for delicious espresso drinks and wonderful homemade pastries. We are local and like trying out new and different places for breakfast each week with our two kids. I'm so glad we came across Zugba Cafe! It feels very European inside, but the food background is actually Filipino. We had to try the suman, a sticky rice cake made of steamed, sweetened glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves. It was sweet and the consistency of like a breakfast cereal or polenta. They're perfect for a snack, dessert, or even breakfast! Zugbas was incredibly cute and modern, with an undertone of Asian cafe aesthetics. This isn't the place to come if you're in a rush, they run on beach time, and if you're visiting you should take a breath and enjoy slowing down for a bit. The barista was super knowledgeable and skilled at her craft. Our server seemed a little inexperienced and forgetful, but she was very friendly. The Oreo coffee was INCREDIBLE! And the tarp cheese cake (not pictured because we grabbed it to go) was well balanced and smooth! My ham and cheese sandwich was also really nice and flavorful- the ham in particular made that sandwich great. The bagel we found was too garlicky and a bit too busy with flavors. I think we would have preferred something a little more simple or with a clearer star of the dish. Overall, we'd be happy to check it out again if we were in town. read more

The food is very good and it is a cute place. However, the pricing is inconsistent and the staff at times can be a bit rude. Today for instance, I ordered the same vegetable sandwich I always get on gluten free bread(It has alway been between $10-$12)My receipt showed a $5 charge for a gluten free bagel. When I questioned the charge they explained that gluten free bagels are more expensive than bread, so there is an uncharge. When I pointed out that my sandwich was on bread and not a bagel, they said that there was also a $5 charge for bread. Again the food is good, but $17 for a cold sandwich seems excessive. Good, cute, little café which replaced the beloved and longstanding Vittoria's Italian café and bakery. They still make some of the Italian treats like the rainbow cookies--I don't know if they use Vittoria's recipes or not but same basic confections. They also have a wide selection of coffee drinks, all seems well-crafted. Their other baked goods run between Latin American and Italian favorites, some cheesecakes, some Latin pastries, someone told me the owners are Filipino not sure about that but some of their pastries might actually be Filipino--which also has a proud tradition of delicious baked goods. I highly recommend them for breakfast, coffee, or just stopping in to grab some sweets to take away. read more

Sadly the lowest rating I can give is one star!! First and last time I come here. The grandmother and granddaughter in front of me waited a minimum of 5 minutes (there was no one in front of them, the coffee maker was "busy" she said, they ordered their cold drinks only to be told they have no ice to make cold drinks they left without ordering. It's 0900 in the morning how about let's think outside of the box, pivot and send someone to get ice at one of the 2 gas stations less then a mile away each way!!! So I order 2 large Cafe Con Leche with sugar "to go", I had to repeat myself 3 times with sugar. Obviously not knowledgeable with how a cafe con leche made its either with or without sugar. I wait roughly 15 maybe 20 minutes, during this time I started writing my review or my experience and watch 5 orders walkout out the door because they don't have ice. A lady brings out two dine in coffee cups. Once I show her my receipt it's a to go order she puts it into a small cup which is now half full for each cup, when I ask the deer in the headlights coffee maker she says that cafe con leche is only this size. I take a drink and "NO SUGAR", seriously $6.75 plus a tip for this shit? This has to be the worst cafe con leche I have ever had, honestly Wawa coffee would have been better than this. Save your time and money and avoid this place!!!!! The only reason they are still in business is clueless tourists looking for some place to eat and see the ocean. Go to Aguadulce Columbian cafe or cafe con leche they do a proper cafe con leche in a proper sized cup but cheaper and better. After leaving I called left a voice mail requesting a call back from a manager. I get a call from someone who identified himself as the manager 386-307-752. I explained my experience and my observation of the amount of people who left because they had no ice for cold drinks. He started jabbering coping an attitude first addressing the ice observation not my experience. He said he was actually out getting ice and it takes more than a minute. Well he'll I was there almost 30 minutes, two gas stations less then a mile away pretty sure he wasn't walking. Ok whatever! So he then addresses my actual experience, not once did he apologize he said come by tomorrow and we can talk more, you mean more than the 2 minutes on he phone he gratuitously gave me tonight. LOL no thank you. In today's society where there is a coffee shop on every corner, businesses only get one chance to make an impression especially when you're paying $6.75 plus a tip for a half of a small cup. read more

First, let me just say that the Cubano con leche with a twist was one of the smoothest coffee drinks in town! Wow! Packed with flavor but none of the acidity. The barista / girl at the register recommended it and it did not disappoint! It comes with three shots of espresso, so she recommended making one of them decaf since I didn't want it to be too strong. I actually got it with two shots of decaf and one regular and it was just right! We were asked by one of the staff (owner) if everything was good. He came out of the kitchen and stopped to chat on his way. I was going to get the avocado toast, which is served on sour dough (for those who can't tolerate wheat), but the croissants were warm so I ordered a Nutella croissant. It was the perfect match for the coffee. There is a cozy (in the good sense) seating area indoors and there are a couple of outdoor eating spaces as well. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was that I'd hoped for a greater variety of pastries (not desserts). Maybe a few savory ones like a ham and cheese croissant? read more

Newt little coffee cafe on beachside. The inside vibe is definitely not beachy, more like a mountain vibe to it, which I enjoy those kind of places, but it's kinda out of place on the beach. Inside had a neat area with a tv and a fireplace that my wife and I sat at. Food was very flavorful , I had avacado toast and the wife had a chocolate croissant. For the coffees I had the caramel apple latte and she had a pumpkin flavored one with marshmallows. The part that was most shocking was the price. Now I know, we hear it all the time, inflation...everything is going up...blah blah blah. However $10 for a coffee is overdoing it. Even pricey places like Starbucks are not $10. I'm sorry but I know things are going up in price but alot of it is higher because people and places are making it higher than it needs to be, and just using inflation as an excuse. The food was okay. Everything was very cheesy, even the vegan sandwich (???). They are foreign so it was very difficult to order. They were friendly and service attempted to be quick, but they were PACKED. And I mean the place was FULL of patrons. We were there about two hours and thank goodness we got there early because otherwise we would have had to go somewhere else. Our drinks were good and the desserts were okay too. I don't know that I would go back on a weekend, but I think I'd try them again during the week to avoid the crowd. read more

Curious about the name, I was told "Zugba" is Filipino for "Grill". I quickly ordered an iced latte but took a longer time trying to decide on the perfect pastry - from a large party of perfection. I settled on the salted caramel crunch of which every bite was divine. I found no issues of crowded space or long wait mentioned by others. I did find the pastry prices high, but if the market in DBS supports it or the baking costs require it, it'll all work out. (Other places I was at in DBS were similar in price.) Everyone was friendly, warm & enthusiastic. My only sadness was that I was there on a short trip and will have to wait for my 2nd choice pastry, a ricotta pistachio cheesecake! or maybe the black & white cookie. or....*I did notice the man working in/out, setting things up stopped to take an order & plate food without a transitional handwash, which is so important.
