My friends and I have gone 2 times now to watch UFC fights on Saturday nights. The food is always amazing and the pool and darts really make for a fun night. The only issue we have had is the service. Both times the same server was rude to us, but our most recent visit she was even worse. This time, after paying our large tab, she accused us of attempting to steal pool after the table ate our quarters. She threatened to look at the cameras and remove us, which we were fine with considering we had paid for the pool. She then never returned back to us. As we went to leave, she told another person in our group we were "lucky" she did not add an autogratuity to our tab even after we tipped 20%. People shoot pool here, watch sports, enjoy alcohol, eat bar food, and enjoy lounging on the cushioned seats while chatting w friends or family. I have to say the garlic fries ($5) here have the most garlic I have ever had on fries in my whole entire life. I love garlic, and I never knew that they would there would ever be a place where there was so much flavorful garlic on fries. The garlic was seasoned just right and wasn't dry or burned. The taste of the garlic really brought out the flavor of the fries. They added a mayo like sauce to all the fries which I wished was more of a side dipping sauce w the amazing mounds of garlic bc the fries got soggy over time bc of it. But either way I loved the garlic rich fries...the Mac and cheese side ($6) was loaded w cheese and tasted good. The wings were meaty, the sauces (mango habanero was good w a bite to it), the cheesy garlic was okay, and cost 12 wings for $15. They played 70-80s music which is always great. This place is horrible. Servers have attitude and are very rude with the customers with the language they. Use. I orders drinks. Didn't not get a chance to even drink them. One of the servers was dead set on picking on my girlfriend for forgetting her id. To the point we were playing pool and she took the drink away. When went to speak she refused to talk like a civil human. And started curing up a storm at her us. Cause she warned my gf she wasn't allowed to drink and it was understood. Not familiar with the area, after driving around for a bit, we took a chance on Mullen's. We lucked out and got a table right in front of the fireplace and ordered the nachos and the wings, both were pretty good. Smithwick beer ran $5/pint, PBR tallboys $3. All kinds of interesting mixed drink options to choose from. The service was friendly and we wanted for nothing. The prices were reasonable. The crowd was mixed, friendly, and pretty chill. There is a pool room that was pretty popular, and plenty of TV's everywhere to watch the Bulls and Hawks do their thing, sorry Bears, better luck next year. Literally then worst service I ever experienced. Everyone I asked for something the bartender rolled her eyes and gave me attitude. Even when I asked for a menu at 10pm she sighed so hard and gave it to me with attitude. We come here for lunch. We are usually the first people here for the lunch rush. Same song and dance every time. Finally we got sick of it. The lunch staff is always severely understaffed. The bartender is the server. Poor girl. The service takes forever. We get there at 1140 and don't have our food until 1210. At which point we have to scarf it down and speed back to work. ON TOP OF THAT!!!! They no longer allow you to call In your order, so it's ready when you get there and can relax and enjoy your lunch. This place is getting old and the specials are not outweighing the service anymore. If you have time to kill while waiting for food. This is your spot. read more

Food here is decent, and service is usually good. Had a few hiccups the last time we went though. We came in, went to the pool tables, and no one ever came to get our drink or food orders, we ended up having to get most everything ourself at the bar until another friend came and then the waitstaff started coming over. They also really need to do a better job of letting customers know when the pool league is scheduled to play. We saw a bunch of people trickling in but received no notice of when they were going to start or that they needed the table we were using. One of them came up to us suddenly and rudely told us to wrap up the table (one we had paid for) or he would go get the bar manager. A simple FYI maybe 15-30 minutes prior would have sufficed by either the waitstaff or even one of the members of the league and we would have gladly been out of their way earlier. I've heard it isn't uncommon here for them not to be clear about the use of the tables and when they're reserved. Generally though, again, the service is good. Once the waitress actually started coming to the back and when we moved to the table she came back pretty regularly to check on us; the bartender was also pretty attentive. They have a pretty good selection of food for an Irish bar: burgers, wraps, salads, pizza, appetizers. They also have a number of TVs throughout the bar so you can catch pretty much any game you want. They're pretty conveniently located in a strip mall with plenty of parking and they're open late, which makes it a good place to go for a laid back drink/food. read more

I really like Mullen's. This bar is a convenient, neighborhood bar and they have really good food. They also are very affordable and have daily specials. For a while, a large group of friends and I would come here every single Wednesday because they have very cheap chicken wings this day. You can choose any sauces you want, and you can also choose between boneless or bone-in, which is nice because many places do not have both options for you to choose from. My favorite is the spicy garlic. I honestly like these wings much better than Buffalo Wild Wings, and I have never had a problem with the wings here. Because I would come here so often, the waiters started to know our faces and the experience was even better because they became very personable to us. But I'm not going to lie though, sometimes the service is so slow and it takes forever to get refills on drinks. I have never been to this bar during the day so I am not sure how the service is at that time, but I normally come after 7pm. A cool thing about Mullen's is that they have wraps and pitas. Their veggie wrap is delicious, as well as their Reuben sandwich. when it comes to food, I have honestly never been disappointed with the food quality. This bar is a fun place to meet friends and watch a Cubs or Blackhawks game though because the atmosphere is really fun, and there is always a nice mix of an older and younger crowd. They also have pool tables in a separate room than the bar which is really nice, but I suggest go and get your own drinks at the bar because nobody has ever come and served us in the pool room. Horrible. How does a restaurant screw up chicken fingers? The breading was more like fish and chips breading and the chicken had no texture... like it was fake meat. I left 80% of my meal on the bar along with half a beer. There was also a super loud, super obnoxious guy sitting at the bar, obviously drunk, even though it was only 7 PM. I live in the neighborhood and was really excited to see a brand new sports bar open in the area. The place was about half full on a Saturday night around dinnertime and our waitress originally came by to tell us the drink specials. Then she left and never came back. There were more than enough staff members to accommodate the crowd that night and our waitress just disappeared totally. We thought about going up the bar to ask somebody to take our order, but because I wasn't dying to try anything particular on the menu, we decided to just get up and leave. The hostess just stared at us and didn't say a word as we headed out the door. This retail space has been cursed as long as I can remember. Mullen's predecessor, The 3 Olives, only lasted as long as it did because of excellent service and above-par food. With Mullen's idea of customer service, this place has a snowball's chance in hell of lasting. Do yourself a favor and head down the street to Hooters if you want tasty bar food in the area. read more

Not impressed. It might be because they're relatively new, but the servers are horrible. I don't think I've ever had an experience where we weren't forgotten about, got out order messed up, or just plainly ignored. It's never the same waitress, always different, but always the same outcome...getting food/drinks I didn't order and being told "oh but you did order this" or being neglected in a corner seat. Also a word to the wise, unless you're a group of strapping young college frat boys, don't expect good service...girlfriends going with your boyfriends, you will be ignored no doubt, at least I was! I've given this place multuple chances but always get the same result: bad service and low quality food. Last time I was here I got chips and dip and this salsa and queso was out of a jar of tostidos, I kid you not. We recently had an encounter where we were not checked up on whatsoever and upon sitting down and not ordering food immediately our waitress actually said to us "So you're not ordering any food? How are you going to even make this table worth my while?" Are you kidding???? After waiting about 20 minutes just to see a waitress to ask for a check, it was incorrect. When we wanted a correction it took her FORTY MINUTES to bring it back only to tell us we were wrong but just this time she'll overlook it. Not to sound like a prick, but I think they figured we were drunk and weren't going to look over our bill at what they charged us. The length of this check is not a one time thing. Any time I have been there in a group larger than 2 we are neglected and made to wait. Anyway, the food quality and high prices don't make up for the lousy service either. The food is decent, but nothing spectacular. Would I recommend this place? No. They need better/more servers who pay equal attention to everyone and have time for everyone. read more

I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home, but I think I'm going to stick with going to Mullen's in Rogers Park. No jukebox and the music is downright irritating. The radio station they were playing was a mix of light pop songs, but no hiphop or alternative at all. What is the target clientele here exactly? The food I ordered was disappointing and expensive, and my mixed drinks didn't even give me a buzz, and I'm definitely a lightweight. Depressing. The inside is nice though, it's very clean and hip looking, I didn't venture into the room with the pool table. Went to a graduation party there today. The food was real good. We had salad, pizza, sliders, quesadillas , and wings. It was open bar and the waitresses stayed on top on asking if we needed refills. Its a nice place to have a party bc they have pool tables in a separate room and the bar itself is nice and clean, its not a dirty dive bar by far. Lots of tvs too! read more

Pretty solid bar to visit. Food is great - way, way better than I expected from a strip mall bar. Don't let apperances fool you. A friend recommended meeting up here for dinner one night, and I've been going back ever since. They have great daily specials, so be sure to try those out. I think they include ribs, tacos, wings, and burgers, depending on the day. We tend to go on Fridays fortheir $7 fish and chips, washed down with whatever their $4 beer special is (it's been shandys and Revoltuion bews, like Rosa, the times we went).
