When I was thinking about where to watch the Bears/Rams game, Ditka's seemed the obvious choice even though I had never been. Steakhouses are not really my thing; I can count on my fingers the number of times I've been to one in my life. But Ditka's seemed intriguing because it was just around the corner from my parents' house. I am really glad this is where I saw the game and can concur with other Yelpers. This is not a Bears-themed steakhouse as much as it is a steakhouse with some Ditka art. Don't expect to see wall to wall memorabilia. But what this place does exceptionally well is food and service. The attentiveness was perfect - not obsequious, not absent. I ate lots of different sides and they were all good: the house salad; oven-fired bread; jalapeño hasbrowns; etc. Even though I did not try any of the entrees or steaks, this is clearly a restaurant for people who care about food. read more

Crab cakes bad enough to make Ditka cry. Ordered a beautiful looking crab cake with large chunks of crab. A real beauty, only to be dreadfully disapointed by the excessively mustard coated peices of lump crab meat. . Unfortunately, the dish was returned due to being inedible. The server explained the crabcakes are made earlier in the day not at order. Suggestion, approach with caution unless you favor ball park mustard in excessive quantities. The chopped coleslaw accompanied the order allowed for an addition insult...a mouthful of diced onion. The service was professional and handled this situation without complaint. Stopped in for Sunday lunch with my sister and brother-in-law. The service staff deliver a high caliber of customer service. Lunch was very nice. Interior could use a refresh, but not a deal breaker. We made dinner reservations here for Thanksgiving Day. We waited at the bar area for about 10 minutes while we wait for our table to be ready. Once we were seated, our server and the rest of the staff were pleasant and efficient. The a la carte menu is still available to customers but we chose to have the Thanksgiving dinner package. This includes: BUTTERNUT OR MINESTRONE soup, SALAD, a platter of TURKEY BREAST, MASHED POTATO, SWEET POTATO YAM, STUFFING, VEGETABLES, and CRANBERRY SAUCE. There are 3 choices for dessert, we picked PECAN PIE and FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE. Everything was delicious and even though the place was super busy that evening, all the dishes were served warm and there was no long wait. Our cocktails were also prepared well. The place is clean, the service is great, and the food is satisfying. Parking can be challenging on a busy night but they also have valet available. I will come back to try the dishes from their regular menu, I'm sure they're also good. I'm disappointed, I had family recommend coming here and heard great things. First off, I liked the atmosphere, very classy. Service was top notch, always refilling drinks and the food came out so fast I thought it was fast food. I got the filet, I'll start off saying that it was cooked to absolute perfection, I've had very few steaks like that. Secondly, that was the most tender steak I have EVER put in my mouth. Lastly, the flavor? I never found it. It was very blah, it didn't taste bad, just didn't have the flavor I like. But, it was a good steak at the end of the day. Came here to meet a friend for a drink at happy hour. I had a Titos on special and she enjoyed a couple craft beers. The bartenders were both amazing and we talked with each of them. Went for dinner and the service was great. We shared the bread starter which you have to order as an appetizer off the menu. That usually rubs me the wrong way, but the bread was amazing and served with a small side of marinated olives. I had the fish & chips - it came with 5 filets! The waffle fries were good but the fish was even better & you could tell they definitely weren't frozen. We brought our family for our sons birthday. He wanted prime rib. When I called for the reservation they said they couldn't push 2 tables together. They stated the tables would be across from each other. When we arrived , the entire time we dined the empty table next to us remained empty. They could have easily pushed them together. Service was okay. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The crab cakes were Luke warm. The rice pilaf was hard and tasteless. The coleslaw tasted like fast food slaw. The entire plate was " white" . No color whatsoever. I wanted to complain ,but did not want a few of the guests to see me complaining. After we got home, I found out every single person in our group did not like their food either. We've had consistently good experiences at Ditka's in Oak Brook. The restaurant itself is comfortable and classic, with plenty of booths, which is always a big plus for us. The food is very good. My wife usually gets the tenderloin rare with a few sides, while I tend to go with the Ditka's Salad -- I know, we have it backwards. The Aperol Spritz is excellent, and the vodka martini, shaken tableside, is a great touch. The service may be the high point: thoroughly attentive, professional, and polished. It is pricey, but good steaks are expensive almost everywhere these days. I'd put Ditka's somewhere between Morton's and Wildfire -- upscale and well-run, but still comfortable and approachable. Not quite a Capital Grille-level experience, but definitely a very good one. read more

We love visiting Ditka's for family meals during the big holidays, including Thanksgiving and birthdays! We are a steak family through and through and we are never disappointed. We typically order sides for the table to share and it works out well. We do 3-4 sides for six people! It's a large space but it can get a little noisy. As it is Ditka's, the decor is sport themed, but I work in sport business and my siblings are all athletes so we love it as a family! It's a little dark so you may need to bust out the iPhone light. Me and my husband were visiting Chicago to see a football game from California. This was a must stop for us as we are huge Chicago Bears fans. We had made reservations well in advance. When we arrived, the hostess told us there would be a short wait, but she told the same thing to the person ahead of us who did not have any reservations. I'm used to being sat right away when I make a reservation. The atmosphere was giving me a nicer Denny's with some football pictures. It was a bit underwhelming. I was hoping they'd have some memorabilia. We decided to start with the stuffed peppers and I would say those were the highlight of our meal. My husband went for the waffles, which were giving me ego vibes. He was underwhelmed by them also. I went for the Mike's salad and I added fillet. The salad was $14 but the fillet was an additional $17. I'll post a picture of the salad. I definitely wouldn't go back to this restaurant but I guess if you're a huge Chicago bears fan you should go but don't have high expectations. This restaurant is the go to restaurant for my wife and I. The reasons abound. First off, the food is always great and we have tried many of their options. Never had a bad or even average meal here. What's nice is they freshen up the menu by adding a few new items a year during a change of seasons. The Ditka's in Oakbrook offers an excellent dining experience. Both dining rooms are reasonably quiet, even with large crowds, due to carpeting. Great atmosphere to dine or experience a live sports event on TV. They even have a couple party rooms. There is a genuine politeness, friendly nature and helpful spirit from every level of staff up through management. A couple of our favorite servers are Demo and Michael. We met Michael, one of the managers, on Oct 13. He was genuine and awesome to talk to. If you get a chance, say hi to him from Dave and Gina. The restaurant itself was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of bar seating and they offer a pretty great happy hour. The food was fresh and delicious. Had a family dinner here for my 61st birthday, I didn't mind the $400 bill for a family of 5, food was good, waiter was good -HOWEVER the busgirl was horrific, she kept on trying to take our plates while still eating...while eating the pot roast nachos she grabbed the platter and we had to tell her mid air to put it back we are still eating- she actually snarled & mumbled under her breath as she put it back, then again grabbed my husbands fried chicken plate and took off with coleslaw he was still eating... very confusing behavior read more
