Just bought a home in Norton. Had got a quote to have 9 trees removed from a competitor. Many of these trees were rotted and strangled from an ivy infestation the previous couldn't get ahead of. Zumalt's owner came out for a quote afterwards, and was slightly cheaper, but showed us that we had many other trees in trouble. He explained to us that since we had to rent a crane anyways, we could get double the trees down for not that much more money. I couldn't pass that deal up. The crew showed up on time on the day promised, and wow.... you can really tell these guys are professionals. They wasted no time and immediately got to work downing and disposing of these trees. They are hard workers who don't mess around! They got all 18 trees down in one day, and only had to come back to grab a few logs and grind some stumps. All in all a great experience, and I will be using them next year to take down another 18 or so trees by our pool. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

You get what ya pay for. The cheapest for wood, but it's too long so you have to cut it. They don't call you back and they never deliver when they say they will. Leave ya waiting for days. Won't go back. read more

Bait and switch. Received two separate quotes: $300 for storm cleanup, or $900 for 3 hours tree tree removal and storm cleanup. Crew leader said that those weren't separate, they were meant to be added. I did not have the quote on me at the moment, so I paid $1200. Found the original quote slip, and it's very clear that it is two quotes, not a single $1200 quote (the second quote clearly includes the first one). I tried calling within an hour of the crew leaving, and was told the owner would call me. Not surprisingly, he has not done so. Also not surprisingly, the check has been deposited. This is either A) poor communication between owner and crew, or B) shady bait and switch tactics. Either way, it cost me an extra $300 for taking crew leader at his word. Mea culpa. In fairness, the crew was on time and did a decent job with the task at hand (decent--by no means stellar). read more

Zumalt Tree Experts did exactly what I was looking for. I hired them to remove 6 trees in our yard. A couple of them had worn a toe tag for years, another two I thought probably needed to go, and the rest Shawn pointed out as hazards when he came out to do the estimate. He was on-time, friendly, and did a great triage of the trees (does that make it a tree-age?). He was also very up-front about what work he didn't think I needed Zumalt to do. Solid guy. A couple weeks later, we scheduled 1 week out. Ollie and the boys showed up bright and early and started chopping within probably 20 minutes, starting with the hardest-to-access tree. Because Massachusetts only got the last squeaks of flatulence from Hurricane Nate, that morning we ran into a little rain and some gusts, but the guys kept at it and wasted no time. (The rain didn't stick around, and it never got too windy.) It took them a little over 5 hours to take down the 6 trees and chip most of it. I'd planned only to pop out a few times, but ended up watching the felling for most of that time. I find that kind of thing to be fun. The guys cleaned up thoroughly, and wrapped up the work a couple hours earlier than anyone expected. Great, friendly, professional guys. The invoice wasn't a dime over the estimate. Ollie told me to expect the log truck in a few days. Sure enough, 3 days later, John showed up to remove the remaining logs. I didn't know he'd be coming that day, but he arrived at a convenient time. He was friendly and used the claw to load the logs into the truck quickly and with nary an incident. I didn't even need to move the car. It'll probably be some years before I need to, but I'd definitely use Zumalt again. They did the whole shootin' match, and did it well. read more

Buyer Beware !!! Took the money and ran, never finished the job. I had used and referred this company several times in the past. I've given them 3 1/2 months to finish this job, I've called a dozen times if I called once. The owner will not even return my phone call. You will see in the pictures attached to this review the tree that hangs over my power line(the entire reason we did this job) still stands. I have Zumalt tree expert from the Attleboro office 508-222-9350 to cut down 4 monster trees on my back yard which is taking over my deck and roof, due to the coutesy and respect of my lawn, we have scheduled a Crane Removal, I was skeptical as how the huge tree (50' high at least) to go over my roof, but boy, they did a WOBFERDUL job, the whole crews. from crane operator, tree climber,cutter to tree grinder, they clean after themself as if they never even here, now I have beautiful natural light shining into my kitchen and family room, a dream came true! Highly recommand them, I give 5 stars on any day. read more

My neighbors (who are currently out of town) had some trees taken down right next to my property line. In the process of cutting down a dead tree, Zumalt took down a healthy tree on my property and left it dangling over my back fence. It has been there for three days. I've called and called, but they have made no effort to rectify this, other than "texting the owner." My next move will have to be to file a police report for property damage, which I do reluctantly. I need tree work done too, but I'll call someone else. read more

Had them come to remove a tree in the back yard. Totally unprofessional. The tree which was some 30 feet away from the house ended up hitting the house and tore off sections of the siding and gutter. The response was "accidents happen". Really!!!!. It shouldn't have. They had plenty of room to drop the tree at a different angle. read more

STAY AWAY from these amateurs! - although they responded within a few days of requesting a quote - the gent who over promised action back in May is no longer with them. My quoted job for June was a NO SHOW. I took a 2nd vacation day in July - guess what - they called to cancel that morning. They'll use misleading excuses, crane troubles - (even though they boasted when getting their new crane from Opdyke Truck in PA) - or, even worse - employees were no-shows there. Zumalt did a job for us in the spring and we were satisfied. We called and made an appointment to get a quote on additional work. The appointment was changed and a new appointment was made. They never showed up for this appointment. There was no phone call either. We left 2 messages which did not get replies. This was very unprofessional and they lost a future client. read more

Been almost 2 months since they said they put us on the list. Still hasn't been taken down. They did send some guys to do stump grinding but that would be hard to do if the tree isnt down yet. Been jerked around, cancelled appointments. I think its because they wont honor a low quote they hand wrote and told me to keep until we were ready. Ya, not very professional. I guess they can pick and choose their clents because of the volume of work they have this year because of the storms. read more

called for an estimate and they came right out and priced. Told them to go ahead.They called 2 weeks later to schedule 4 weeks out. They gave me a date so I took the day out of work and they never showed up and never called. They finally called me 4 days later to fit me in and I told them no thanks.
