At a recommendation from a former coworker, we had a retirement party for one of coworkers here. The funny thing is that person who recommended the business didn't even show up for the party? Bizarre. Anyways, for events like this, there's a spot in the back of the restaurant with TVs and enough tables and seating for a larger group of people. I'm not sure of the logistics, but there was a predetermined menu of a couple things to choose from and we can order or add anything extra if we wanted. I got there first with the decor that everyone provided and we were allowed to decorate, just make sure to clean up after yourselves. The funny thing was that when I was decorating, this older gentleman started helping me and I thought it was one of the workers and turned out to be some random guy! AHHH. I got the flautas with the refried beans. Portions were generous and the servers were efficient and friendly. I've been to this eatery a few times and every time I do the staff is gracious and helpful. So far every dish I've ordered is delicious and bursting with authentic home made flavor. The food was pretty good. Especially the red chili sauce. It had a nice smokey flavor and wasn't too spicy. The salsa was good and chips. Service was adequate. Price was reasonable. The only complaint I had was there was no air conditioning or at least they didn't turn it on very high. Place is small but it looks like they have patio seating. read more

I really do feel like this place is a hit and miss, they aren't consistent with their food. I've made several attempts to come back and unfortunately their service, food has declined. Extremely salty, mmm do you not peel your Chiles for RAJAS? Mine still had the skin on and I asked why and they said that's how they are, NOPE.... You charred your Chiles and peel the skin. No refills on your Aguas , though they aren't even fresh, they are machine mixed. The service can be a bit dismissive at times. Loud... very hot in the summer please invest in an AC. Ohhh and on sundays sometimes they will run out of certain items so be prepared with a second option. read more

Came to have breakfast since it's been quite some time that we've been here. I ordered the green Chilaquiles and I would say I was very disappointed. My dish was very salty and oily. I only had two bites and that was that. We also ordered the eggs and the nopales it was really soggy, Flavor was OK. We did get an order of the fresh tortillas however, I think that they freeze them before they warm them up, They were just falling apart. Service is good, but unfortunately, the food wasn't. The place really needs a good deep, clean, we were seated by the window, but had to move because there was dried beans on the seats. Today was our first time trying Zumayas & my hubby & I truly enjoyed our experience today. The staff were very friendly and the interior design is a homestyle Mexican vibe which I loved. My hubby and I ordered chilaquiles. He got his divorciados style which means half red sauce half green sauce. I got mine Ranchera style (mild) and I fell in love with their sauces. The mild still has a nice hint of spice but it's not spicy. My husband's on the other hand were on the spicy side but not too spicy to the point your mouth is on fire, just the way he likes them. We took turns trying each other's chilaquiles to try the different sauces & we came to the verdict that Zumayas truly is a great quality & authentic Mexican restaurant. The hubby and I were looking for a Mexican restaurant to have lunch, we happen to come across Zumayas Mexican restaurant. It's a nice restaurant a little small so if you have a big party I would call ahead of time so they can accommodate.They also have outdoor seating in the back also. We came on a Sunday, afternoon, (they close early i think around 4, great for brunch or lunch) nice decor, oldies music. Cool place to chill and have a nice meal. For the food we both ordered enchiladas, there were so delicious. I got the asada taco and chicken enchiladas with green sauce and the hubby got the chicken enchiladas with mole. Both dishes were really really good. Only thing is they didn't have was limes for the beers. But everything else was else was great. Service, kind people. This place is a hidden gem. They also offer calabacitas which is so hard to find at most Mexican restaurants which goes to show how authentic the food is. The prices are average and there is ample parking. Today my family and I went to Zumayas. I ordered a cafe de olla $4.25 that coffee had no flavor and was basically colored water, my mother ordered the regular coffee which tasted the same! Flavorless and insipid hers was $3.25. We waited over 20 minutes to get our food. No one offered us a refill of our drinks, I had to flag down a server to fill our empty mugs. Also when we arrived to the restaurant I wrote down my name only to have a couple come afterwards and they got seated before us. Totally disrespectful gesture. After many years of visiting this establishment I will no longer come back or continue recommending the place. read more

I only came here outta convenience but now they've gained a new customer/follower & Fan. The steak was very juicy, tender and full of flavor!!
