I was impressed with the relatively varied and authentic selection of Japanese dishes. I would love to come back and try some of the donburi. I liked my Katsu Curry Rice. Not much of a dessert menu. Not easy to find-it was like a nice hole in the wall. When I knew what strip mall it was in, but not the specific, my wife made fun of me. When someone else couldn't decide where to go in, she noticed it was hard to decide which door was right. When my wife had to go back in to get her sweater, she entered the wrong door. Tucked in the corner of a strip mall is a great authentic taste of Japan. The ramen options are significant, and the portions don't skimp! They had a nice side menu of seasonal specials, which had many Japanese dishes (tako-wasabi, raw octopus with wasabi) which hubby partook from. No formal kids menu, but our toddler loved the onigiri and stealing some of our ramens. read more

I hate to give negative reviews, but the food here was awful. Not sure if they've changed ownership or what, but we were really disappointed. Yakitori beef was dry & tough and tasted like it was sitting around for a while. The yakitori chicken was like an unseasoned chicken thigh that had been boiled, then squirted with Bachan sauce. "Yaki" in yakitori means grill, and there was no sign of grilling .. no char, no grill marks, nothing. Just rubbery unseasoned chicken thighs with some sauce squirted on them. Tatsuta-age - this was ok, but no accompanying sauce. Tonkotsu ramen - legitimately worse than the frozen ramen that you can find at Asian supermarkets. Watery, very little flavor, boring. Dining at Zundo was a very pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy, greeted by very, very friendly staff, who helped me and my gf through the menu. I started with a flight of sake, going crazy. The milkier it got, the stronger it tasted lol. The dumplings were amazing. I had to start the review with them. I ended up ordering another order of them to go again after my meal. They are a must try. Succulent, juicy and soft. The perfect texture and flavor. I ended up going with the fried chicken ramen (sorry don't know the name) it was good. I prefer the flavor of the ramen broth over the mean I've realized. I would probably go with the pork next time. Looks very pretty though. The other ingredients in the ramen were delicious and packed a lot of flavor. The chicken was a little bland and fatty. Same with the fried chicken, and the color freaked my gf out. I assured her it was fine, but some pieces had a pink hue, and that threw her off. The rice was rice, good. I make it a challenge to eat my whole meal with chopsticks so I can practice, did it once again and it really adds to the experience. Will be back soon read more

This place is warm and cozy . The ramen looked good but I didn't get it so my review is not for that .. Drinks are expensive at 3.75 for soda however refills are free. I tried the gyoza - a tad expensive for 5 tiny pieces but it tasted pretty good. Had a kick of ginger I wasn't a huge fan of however. I also got the teriyaki don - it was good but I've had better. My chicken was a tad too fatty and chewy for my liking. I'd come back maybe one more time but it wasn't my favorite . The staff was very nice but left you alone they asked twice how the food was and then brought refills but otherwise left you by yourself to eat. read more

We've been to both locations and tried three different kinds of ramen. The Tantanmen Ramen was by far our favorite. It was full of flavor and spicy bits of pork (OTR location). At the Mason location we had the Tonkatsu ramen and, I can't believe I am saying this about ramen, it lacked salt. We had to add white pepper and Nanami Togarashi spice blend to coax some flavor out of the broth. The pork gyoza are wonderful. The Mason location is a pretty hip looking place and the service was great when we went on a Wednesday for lunch. read more

This was my first time every having ramen and I'm so glad I did! Zundo has two locations and i this Mason one is right down the road from where I live! They have a small quaint space with a "chefs bar" where you can watch them prep your meal. They are waiting on a liquor license but they have the bar up front ready to go. I sat there while waiting for my carry out order. The food was fresh and full or flavor! It was a perfect way to enjoy a rainy day of working from home too. the TANTANMEN Ramen was a perfect spice level (I will to spicier next time) and and Gyoza was delectable and perfect. I was craving noodles and decided to try this new location. The original Zundo Ramen is downtown and a little difficult to find. Only the very determined get the prize - I wish this location had been available when I worked off Snider - this establishment would have been my daily lunch spot - the menu offerings have a good mixture of the familiar appetizers like Gyoza and Kaki furai - but, kurobuto sausage, the Chashu (pork belly) bun and the jumbo shrimp shumai - just wow for those of us who have made these Japanese staples a part of their regular diet. This is a staple in my boyfriend and I's date nights. The atmosphere is so elevated, warm and open and everything is very clean. The service is always very speedy and the staff is so welcoming every time we come and they always check up on us. There is never a wait when we come, we're immediately seated. We get the ramen, of course and it's perfect every time. The noodles have the perfect consistency and you can tell that they are fresh and high quality. This place is great! The service was excellent and our waitress was very patient and very helpful when picking out menu items. It is a quiet place. But I am sure it can get really busy. It may have been because we went at a weird time. But the food was excellent and made super quick! We weren't waiting for very long which was super nice and the food came out great with freshly made ingredients and homemade noodles. Should have seen the look on my face when my friend drove us "to the wrong place", which I gave him crap for, only to see that Zundo opened a 2nd location! A very pleasant surprise! The facility has the same vibe as the one in the city, however, this one feels so much roomier! They also played anime music the whole time we were there. Staff was nice; they didn't really check on us a lot, which is fine cuz we didn't need it. Food was amazing! Price was decent ESPECIALLY for the generous portion sizes. I really hope this location stays open; I'm not from around this area, but it def seems in the middle of nowhere. However, because of that, parking was easy.
