She was on the phone while doing my brows, via her ear piece but that didn't affect her timing or quality. But I was confused when I thought she was talking to me and she wasn't. Anyway, I digress. She did a great job on my brows, I was happy when I got home and started to fill in my brows; it was quick and easy to fill in my brows because she did such a good job threading them. I even received a compliment from my friend on how she liked my brows. This place isn't near me at all so I'm not sure when I'll be back but I'm glad to know she's there if I ever need her. My friend and her 18 year old daughter go here to get their eyebrows threaded and it always looks so clean and natural in what seems like seconds! 5 star results for sure. Eyebrow threading is painless and beats waxing or tweezing any day! Now back to the "no flinching" My friend's daughter talked her dad into getting his done. He sat in the chair and the woman started to thread but because he kept flinching, his skin got caught by the thread and blood began to splurt all over the place!! Gross. 10/21/18 Update: Six weeks ago I went back for a second hair appointment to get a trim ONLY, and I left with a new hairstyle that I absolutely loath: the left front side is noticeably different from the right side. The only way to fix it is to cut it shorter which isn't going to happen. Moreover, as someone of mixed ethnicity with African ancestry, the worst thing that a hairstylist can do is thin the bottom of my hair. So it's thick at the top, thin and short at the bottom. It's terrible! It took me years to get my hair to the length & style that I desire. And in 10 minutes Fouzia botched my hair. All of this happened bc Fouzia did what she thought was best rather than what I said: follow the shape & style that I have, only cut an 1" to 1.5". My hair will be in a protective style for the next 8 - 12 months. I just took my protective style down & was instantly angered all over again by this hair experience. I don't usually write negative reviews but I couldn't in good conscience nor provide an update. I will never go back to this place!!! I visited the mall to do some shopping. I stopped into this nice little shop to get my brows threaded. There were only a few people inside and a short wait to be serviced. The older woman threaded my brows and did a pretty good job. Afterwards I believe she rubbed lotion on them. It was a little rough/painful, but overall was a great experience for only $10. Apparently Zuni's is supposed to have reasonable prices. I had actually just gotten my upper lip done a week ago, but my last threader was distracted and missed quite a bit, and I stopped by Zuni's just so I could get a clean up and be super smooth. I sat down in the chair, and she started threading my upper lip. My threader said "oh, I see you have a couple of stray hairs here, on your chin. I'm going to get them." She literally did a single swipe with her thread on my chin. Then she said something about my brown - one swipe, and something about the side of my face - one swipe, and my forehead - one swipe - before she finished with my upper lip. At the end, she asked me to pay for a full face threading, even though I only asked for upper lip. And let me be clear - I'm not exaggerating when I say ONE swipe. All in all, she charged me $24 for what was quite literally less than ninety seconds of threading all over. They nickel and dimed me all the way. I won't be back here. read more

NEVER EVERR EVER GET YOUR HAIR CUT HERE!!! I used to go to this place religiously once a week to get my eyebrows threaded, i was used to waxing once a week so when i switched to threading i did that once a week as well. It was ok first few times; they failed to tell me that i only really need to go once a month but w/e guess that oculd be blamed on me. ALI talked me into coming in to get my hair cut, i figured she's young, cute, she's worth a shot. BIGGG MISTAKE!!! My previous stylist cut my hair too short already so i came to her and told her to add chunky random highlight and trim only- PLEASE DONT TOUCH THE SHORT LAYER. SO, when we're done with the color and she starts to cut she goes, "I have this really cool idea for your hair, it'll look really good, lets put in some short layers" so I'm like undecided i tell her try to cut as little as possible, she says "it'll loog really good" so i say ok. OMFG this girl who knows I have super curly hair that i style straight everyday gives me a cut impossible for my texture. WHY would you give someone with curly frizzy hair a short layer thats approximately four inches long????? I was devastated. I used to sport the low ponytail but after my cut my short layer wouldnt even fit into a high pony tail, i had to bobby pin it. SHe left me with a cut so bad i couldnt even wear it curly if i wanted to. This was in december, when I went to her other girl, (forgot her name, she wears that veil thing) and told her the story even she was sympathetic with me. Hmmm, upgrade for sure! They moved up from the lil kiosk to a nice salon! Props! $10 for eyebrow and lip threading - so this is a great deal. It was super quick and only took about 5 minutes. It was as painless as it could be! My only gripe - I think the woman threaded one side a little more than the other, but whatever, it's not tragic looking. She definitely kept the arch! For those of you not familiar with LTC, Zuni's is located on the 2nd floor, to the right of the food court! Sidenote: What is up with all those places in the Loop, South Loop, River North and Lakeview charging $13 to thread? Are you effin' insane? I walk in wanting some waxing/ threading done and I leave with a horrible skin reaction to the cleansing chemical used to remove wax from equipment. Also the waxing room is dirty and unorganized. Then I was charge incorrectly and when I mentioned this after viewing the price menu I was told "well the prices listed are incorrect". I do think the threading is done well but stay away from the waxing. Price wise you can get a better experience at close by shops for a better price. read more

I've been coming here about 3 months now and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Fouzau!!!!! I first started getting my eyebrows threaded and she slays them every single time. She then told me one day that she also does natural hair. Now I came to her with hair that was slightly damaged due to getting sew-ins back to back and not getting my ends trimmed. I had a similar experience to Marianne N. I stopped in to get a trim and Ali suggested I go with her idea instead. Typically, I am not too picky about my hair. When a stylist suggests a way to add more volume, I go with it. She seemed confident and definately sure of herself, so I trusted her suggestion. I have medium length, very strait hair, on the thin/limp side. I told her I really wanted to keep the length and add more volume, not too many layers. Before I knew it, Ali was hacking away and I ended up with some weird Friends-era mullet creation. The layers were mushroom-like and I was left with about a 4 inch (across) section on the bottom which was supposed to account for the length, I imagine. The whole style look trashy and not at all in the cool kind of way. Three weeks later I still couldn't figure it out, like Marianne, I couldn't put it in a pony tail without pinning the top half back because the layers were so short and when I did I looked mangy. (don't even get me started on my poor pig tails or trying to work with my hot rollers) I decided to go back in and give her a second try. I just wanted it fixed. My theory was; it was already too short, what more could go wrong? I wanted to wait til it grew out before I shelled out the money for an expensive hair cut at a real salon. I just wanted it cleaned up, a simple trim. When I went back Ali had stepped out so I had another women, Felicia, I believe, cut it. She trimmed it with care, and tried to blend some of my botched layers, I could tell, even she knew it was a bad hair cut! Felicia is sweet, I liked her style and non-abrasive personality a lot better, but sadly I still can't do much with this mop. I ended up buying extensions today. Overall, as far as a hair cut's concerned, I won't be back. My hair feels much thinner and the layers just hang. To make matters worse, I felt that this Ali woman kind of gave me the stink-eye when she came in and found another employee cutting my hair! She checked me out in a huff and didn't seem friendly at all. My last gripe about this place is that it seems very unprofessional. It seems more like a hang out place for loud-talking mall employees, than a legitimate business. The whole time I was in there, (both times) I listened to people coming in and out from the mall gossiping with this woman. I don't want to hear that! I don't care! I want peace and quiet when I get my hair done. I want to feel like the employees are focused on their customers needs, not their friends who just happen to be hanging out there. Don't know about the threading, I never had it done there. But from the looks of the set up, it just seems unsanitary. Zuni's is another example of how hair stylists are basically the same as car salesmen. They'll say anything they need to in order to solicit your patronism. I paid for my hair procedure via debit card. Because I was very unhappy with how the stylist treated me, I did not tip. This salon never fails you, I always walked out with a huge smile on my face for getting exactly what I asked for done. Ahlam is amazing, she pays close attention to how you want your hair to look, she cares enough to suggest ways to not damage your hair, and finally she is super nice and friendly. The owner is rude, loud, and tacky. The location is overcrowded and chaotic on the weekends. She obviously wants to have a "salon" feel, but this place totally misses the mark! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING PLACE TO GO TO FOR ANY BEAUTIFYING! BE AWARE!!! First of all, haircuts are done very unprofessionally and they don't know what they're doing at ALL even after you explain to them a gazillion times and don't even get me started on eyebrows...all of the workers are extremely moody and will thread based on how happy and energetic they are...if they don't like you they will screw up your eyebrows and if you try to point out what they're doing wrong they wont accept and fix it, they will TALK BACK AND ARGUE-seriously. I went a couple times and my last threading experience was absolutely horrible. The girl in the veil and glasses chopped off my eyebrows and insisted that they were like that to begin with when they weren't. Her attitude was highly unprofessional and she didn't seem licensed for her job. I've had better eyebrows threaded at other places like on Devon Avenue.
