Our stylist rented a chair here, so we tried to follow. Our first service was very uncomfortable. The owner micromanaged my teen (also a client) and she reprimanded our stylist in front of the client they were working on! Even my child commented how rude the owner's interaction was. After our stylist left, staff refused to provide any forwarding info about where our stylist went, just "I don't know"s. Come to find out, they shared their next location and owner wasn't being honest with clients when she said she didn't know where they went after her shop. read more

I saw Molly at Feel Good Hair today, and I must say... My Hair does Feel Good! It was my first appointment and Molly took time to give me a brief but thorough consultation. I knew I had to cut some length off and she agreed... about two to a two and a half inches. Plus I needed a root touch up and toner to take the brass out of my hair. Molly is funny, kind, and so professional. She took her time to get my color, cut, blow dry, and style beach waves perfectly. I'm take my 4 year old to get her hair cut with Molly as well. I have been going to Feel Good Hair for a few years now for my haircuts and brow wax. Emily has always done my hair and Ashley has done my brows. I have never been disappointed with the level of service. For my haircuts, I always say what a boring cut I am since I usually get my hair trimmed and never anything dramatic (I love my long hair). Emily always does a great job though. She adds a little bit of flair to my basic cut. She will usually explain what she is doing and what products she is using. This way I know how to keep my hair silky smooth in between cuts. She is also super nice and great to chat with during the haircut. For my brows, Ashley is great! My brows stay consistently well-groomed with her. They use good quality products and I always trust everything to be clean which is better than I can say for some other places. The brow wax is about the same price as most salons, but more expensive than other places. I think they do a good job, so it is money well spent in my opinion. The haircut price is similar to most salons and has a sliding scale of price based on the level of experience of the hair stylist. They also have a place to get your nails done, but I have never seen anyone getting their nails done here, so I can't speak to that service. I would highly recommend Feel Good Hair for your hair and waxing needs. I have never been disappointed. read more

If I was writing this about just the hair cut that I received by Kim I would give a slightly higher rating but as we all know the salon experience is about more than just the hair cut. I have very short hair ( half shaved) which I color myself. I was very turned off by the attitude Kim gave me over coloring my own hair. We talked about the product I use to get my alternative color and I told her is was a semi-permanent. She did not seem to know what a semi-permanent color was. She said it must be a demi-permanent color ( FYI these are two different things the biggest difference between semi and demi is permanency. Though both are temporary, demi lasts 24 to 28 shampoos, and semi lasts 3 to 6.). It was then discussed that she thought my semi-perm color lifted my color. Semi-perms are not supposed to lift, only deposit color. I asked if maybe there is a tell tale ingredient that would let me know if lift would happen. She told me she only uses Aveda so she would not know. This tells me Kim does not have basic chemistry of hair product knowledge. To make matters worse some of the areas of conversation during my hair cut where just uncomfortable to me and she would not really drop them when I did not say anything. Overall she kept talking about my "lifted" color even to the point of telling me yet again as I walked out of the salon. Overall the hair cut was fine but it you are looking for someone who does not make you feel "bad" about coloring your own hair, has a understanding of the science of hair care products and makes your experience a comfortable and relaxing one, I would look somewhere else. read more

I have been going to this salon for over a year. The prices are really reasonable at this salon. The people that work there are great. The location is perfect. I have a single problem with the red dye product that they use. I'm not sure if any other colors have this issue, but the red color does. Keep in mind, my color is a natural red, not bright pink or maroon color. Anyhow, the coloring has bled onto two comforters and several towels. I have been going to this salon for over a year and have enjoyed my hairdresser a lot, which is why I haven't changed, but my stuff is getting ruined with little red specks little bit by little bit. I recently took in my old comforter to get dry cleaned, thinking that the hair bleeding would come off, but it didn't. I just got a new comforter recently and right after my coloring, I got the same red dye bleeding issue. Sadly, I'm canceling all future appointments due to the products they use. It's too bad. Honestly the worst haircut I have ever gotten was here and I would caution people looking to come here. I went in and asked for 3 inches cut off with some long layers so it would lay nicely. I saw some VERY huge pieces of hair cut off laying on the ground that were probably 6/7 inches and I started to panic. My chair was turned around so I couldn't see in the mirror while it was being blow dried and curled either. I could feel some SHORT pieces near the front of my face that did not even touch my chin... mind you i went in with hair mid length on my back/past my boobs. I started to panic but the curls looked fine and there was a lot of hair spray so I payed and left. When I got home I realized the ENTIRE head of hair was cut in 2 layers. My mom saw the back of my head and gasped because it was so short and uneven, The bottom layer was the 3 inches that I had asked for... the top was a little past my chin. I balled my eyes out because it looked horrible. It wasn't at all what I asked for... and it looked awful... It was two choppy layers that were so far apart. I can't believe they let me leave like that. I truly believe the stylist Emily hide the top layer in the curls with all the hairspray so I would pay before I left. The top layer was probably 6-8 inches above the bottom layer so it was extremely noticeable. I was so scared to go back to this salon to have them fix it because they did such a horrible job the first time I just had my friend a trust cut the bottom layer even though she isn't a hair dresser and she cut it evenly but she had to cut another 6 inches from that bottom layer which is not what I wanted. But I had no choice. I was embarrassed when I looked in the mirror and felt so ugly. I couldn't even put it back into a pony tail. I should have called for a refund but honestly I was so upset with the way my hair looked I didn't want them to belittle me or my experience after I was so upset about cutting an additional 6 inches off to have it even. And there was no way I was trusting them to fix it. (Girls know that hair can be an emotional attachment.) please go somewhere else to get a haircut I don't want anyone else to feel the way I did. read more

My mother and I came to get our toe nails done at the Feel Good Hair salon. We have been to the salon before for our hair. We loved Joanna but the pedicure chairs were very uncomfortable. The step up and the design of the chair makes it very unaccessible to those with limited physical capabilities. The setup is more to please the eye than to cater to your comfort. read more

Feel Good My Arse, I received a "certificate" to try several services at this very small salon. Calling to book an appt I mentioned my certif and they stated I had to call a week in advance for an appointment - I responded are you not going to even look to see if you have an opening? Her response was "no" if you have a certificate they have to made a week in advance! Well thats simply not true and to say the least very unfriendly - why would anyone want to go there with an attitude like that?? I have come to this salon numerous times since I moved to Lombard. They have never been anything short of outstanding. And it's not just one particular stylist. Everyone has always done a great job. Most recently I took my little girl to a hair salon for children and they completely ruined her hair. I was frantic and never had anything like this happen before. I called this salon while leaving the kids salon. Luckily, they were able to fit her in within an hour and Marli took on the challenge of fixing it. She really made my daughters hair look great! Not only that but my daughter had a HUGE smile on her face in the chair (even though she was losing a lot of length). I could tell she was happy with it! Leaving the appointment, she said she felt pretty, which made me feel so much better. Also I must compliment this salon for never once judging me when I bring my two children in. I really try not to bring them anywhere I don't have to -- just to be respectful of an adult establishment. But sometimes us moms don't really have a choice. This salon has never once acted like I was a pain in the butt for bringing them with. I've never gotten an eye roll or even a judgmental look from any of the stylists. They have been nothing but kind to me. And sometimes that's such a welcome change given that some salons I've been to seem to forget that frumpy and stressed out moms are people too. Kudos to this salon for always being so professional and always taking on any challenge. They are a wonderful business that deserves recognition. This was my first time and was able to schedule my appointment right away. I recommend Dani for haircut - she helps you decide the style, answer your questions and definitely gives you an excellent hair cut. Oh man, this place is awesome! I had seen so many wonderful reviews and wanted to try it out for myself for the very first time ever. I had gotten very excited for my appointment. I called at 5pm today and they were able to get my in by 6:30 the same day with David. They were super nice on the phone so it was a great first impression. I was a little confused about parking when I came up to the location and drove around the block a few times to make sure where I was parked is public parking. I called the salon as well and was assured it is. David is so wonderful! He is very personable and chatty, it was like talking to an old friend for an hour. I felt comfortable in his hands. I initially just wanted a trim, but felt so comfortable I was getting a little adventurous. Lol! But David wanted to make sure I liked the cut, and got a feel for my hair, but assured me he would on my next visit. The consultation was great and I felt like he really listened to what I had to say, and cut my hair for my lifestyle. At the end of the cut, he did go over which products he used, but it never felt like I was being pressured into buying anything. I bought a couple things to try, as I am almost out of my regular product. I found it interesting that they asked if I would like to schedule my next appointment. Only the dentist does that, and I get my hair cut as often as I go to the dentist. So who knows what I am doing 5 or 6 months from now. Lol. I tried Feel Good hair I went there 4 times 1st cut was good but gal who cut my hair so I went back in Dec for another cut and unfortunately though the cut was not what I wanted it was still a good cut & workable. Made another appt with another person & she cut the crap out of my hair, very uneven longer on one side over the other, not at all the cut I wanted, I didetn say anything & thought I'd just ride it out until it grew a bit, made yet another appt and lo & behold that was was not there anymore so another cut my hair, she k new I was upset b/c my hair was so uneven and bc one side was sooo much shorter than the other she had to even to short side however cut the back and crown so short all my colick appeared and I had a bald spot in my crown, on top of that when I called to make that appt the person who made that appt for me was very rude as to tell me to be on time as it's their police, when I got there on time I had to wait almost 20 min, yet they lectured me when I made that appt, so end result is I will never for back to FGH again, I am not the only women who had the experience of a bad cut, I know of 2 otheres, up to them to write a review. As for me I'm done with FGH, I gave then 4 chances so I think I was plent fair, 4 appts but only 1 good cut, not a good record read more

After getting horrible highlights at a salon in Lombard, I decided to try out FGH. Im soooo glad I did! Dani is a miracle worker! Shes very knowledgeable and fixed my botched highlights to make them look even and natural. I am definetly going to come back again. Also, they had a deal where you buy a $100 gift card and they give you an additional $25 for free. Not sure how long they will have the deal but I reccommend trying them out! read more

Nice shop but I'll never go there again. Asked for 1/4" off cut and got scalped! Marli decided to do her own thing with about 3/4 " off and uneven cut. While cutting (badly) she tried to sell me many products, wanted to "platinum blonde" my hair, (now a nice golden blond) make future appointments and advised me of her sex life. Her "do" with curling iron consisted of exactly 6 little twists, about 2 minutes, for additional $15 which I had to fix up at home. Lack of understanding or caring or??? I just called and asked if I could get in sometime tonight(it's Weds. at about 7:00 p.m.) The girl who answered the phone was courteous and friendly, and so was I. She said the could, asked for my name and if I had a preference as to who I would like to cut my hair. It was all very professional and I was able to get in and get my hair cut. I answer the phone at my business and as rude as people get, I always maintain what I call being"emotionally nuetral". I sometime have to repeat things over and over and it gets to be tiring. As nice as I am, I am sure there are people who have called and I was quick with them, only because we might have been very busy. This salon is great! I came here for a much needed hair cut (I have not had my hair cut in 2 years - eek) and Dani was my stylist. She did a fantastic job of getting layers into my long mane and cutting off all the damaged hair. She was very sweet & conversational. The pricing at this salon was VERY reasonable - I'm usually charged $65+ for just a hair cut because of the length of my hair this place was only $36! My beloved hairstylist who I followed for over a decade through the trenches of 4 different salons picked up and moved to Arizona. I was in a state of panic because it's hard to replace someone you love and trust so much with your hair. I was blessed to find David at Feel Good Hair in Lombard of all places....what? Lombard? Yes. It's true. I hesitated at the thought of even writing a review for him because he's kind of my well kept secret. My hair is super thick, wavy and unruly. I'm nuts about getting a good cut because without it I start to look like a shaggy dog. I'm a high maintenance client, I like to make appointments 5 mins before I need to come in and I have loads of input on my haircut which I know nothing about haha! He gives me an excellent haircut every time I go in, I get loads of compliments and people ask me where I get my hair done constantly. I like him because he listens to my concerns, is friendly and chill and is really talented at what he does. The staff is nice, professional and kind. I've always been serviced with a smile and I'm always able to get in to see him within 12-24 hours. The price is so reasonable $40 for a cut that would easily be $80 in the city. There are no quality stylists like this in the suburbs. Trust me, I've tried them! David is a gem! read more

I came here after a horrible highlight job at another salon, I got it some what fixed and have been in a couple times for highlights. Went in for something that would brighten my hair between highlights and got a toner put in, only to have my hair turn out darker than What I had come in with. I told the stylist that it wasn't what I wanted but he made me go outside to see it in different lighting... Didn't look any better. For a tone and a blow dry it came out to almost $90 which is ridiculous and when I called after saying I wasn't happy with the results and asked if they would fix it for no cost, I was basically told that he did nothing wrong and that I would have to pay to get it fixed. This situation has ruined the salon for me and I will not be going back. Outrageous prices for mediocre hair jobs, and service isn't any better. read more

I also wasn't too sure what color I wanted but she was very patient in explaining which ones would be good for first time on my dark hair and which ones wouldn't look too good.
